My husband and I have been certified for a few years but do not dive regularly. Now that our kids are teens, we wanted to get them certified and start taking diving trips as a family. One issue... our youngest is on the autism spectrum. Alex has been totally amazing with him. Our son is a visual learner, and we didn't even have to tell Alex that, he just flexed to his learning style without issue. Our son still has some skills to perfect, but he's making good progress. He hasn't made it to "open water diver" yet, but he has a different level of certification that will allow him to come with us on most trips while practicing his skills so we can get him to a full open water diver. I'm very pleased that Alex was able to find a way to get us where we wanted to be (able to do something as a family) without compromising his integrity in terms of not just rubber-stamping our son through the program. I appreciate this about him and shows his commitment not only to his customers but to the sport. During some of the training with our kids, Alex was also working with other divers to earn different types of certifications (including one who was becoming an instructor). I was AMAZED how Alex was able to put some much attention into our son while at the same time able to watch over this instructor in training who was working with our daughter on other aspects. Really, he was training three different people at the same time all with completely different needs and getting it done. I would have have no qualms sending anyone to Alex. Alex is also flexible in terms of finding times that work with your schedule and places to actually do the underwater work. Our training was pushing into the fall and our son was needing extra time in the water. We did some in the pool, some at a quarry and some at a state park. The shop has everything you need or he will get it for you and he has great advice on equipment. He also sets up dive trips on a regular basis. We hope to take advantage of more of those now that we're all certified as a family. Thanks for everything, Alex!

The most beautiful place I have ever seen. The most friendliest staff, who made us feel right at home. I never got the feeling that we were bothering them when we asked for something or needed something. It is by far the cleanest place I've ever stayed at. No one bugs you buy anything. The beach is private so nobody is in your face trying to sell you something while your relaxing. The shops they do have are very nice, reasonably priced. The resort has it's own mini Mall is what I'll call it, with name brand shops as well as local merchandise, such as the handmade items. None of the vendors haggled you, once we were done looking we simply walked to the next one. Ive been places where they try to stop you and talk you into buying something. The food was Awesome!!! Fresh fruit and almost every type of food you can think of, from cheeseburgers to Escargot. They have areas in the buffet that will prepare your meal fresh for you on the grill. Say your at breakfast and you want an omelet, you choose from several fresh ingredients in front of you, put them on a plate hand them to chef and simply tell him how many eggs you want, such as a 2 or 3 egg omelet. He will cook it and put it on your plate. Its the same with lunch or dinner. Steaks, hamburgers, fajitas, several fresh seafood items and a whole lot more. If you prefer a break from the buffet you can dine at one of several very fine dining restaurants. French, Carribean, Japanese, Mediterranean and many more. The French Restaurant was Excellent, and my favorite. The Escargot was AMAZING!! They have several of excursions that you can take. You can book all of your excursions right there at the resort easy and simple. Just around the corner from the front desk. Our guide was friendly, he didn't try to push anything on us we didn't want to do. We did choose to go Zip Lining at EXPLOR. It was the best time I ever had. Zipping through trees and through waterfalls, it was simply breathtaking. Very affordable as well. I can't wait to go back. My wife and I actually have started planning a trip back. Also, the pricing we received was much higher than anticipated and when I asked Stephanie about it, she claimed it was because we didn't gave her enough time to plan and because it was over New Years. Only the first 2 days of the vacation were part of New Years and after checking, the prices dropped significantly after that. Something doesn't seem right with the pricing.

Max speed with 3 people and one cooler is 5mph, but when a wake would come, we would not only take on water, but the boat would loose speed. Also, it kept dying and the motor was sputtering. We returned the boat early and plan on disputing it with the owners. Most of the kids at the marina were good about it, one kid was very cocky. As a boat owner of a pontoon most of my life, this was unacceptable. I have a video, but it's too long to upload. Please do not rent these boats, they are death traps.
