It was a cold night in Sonora, MX. Picture this...Freezing almost brings craving something warm hooing, wishing & praying for a legit coffee spot. Few miles down the city road we spot an indoor coffee spot called Olympus and decided to take a chance.
We ordered an Americano and a Mocha. It was made fresh & no flavor powder or syrups were used. The mocha had an awesome layer of foam happiness drizzled with an in house made delish chocolate syrup (I watched as the barista made the syrup while we enjoyed our coffee). It wasn't too sweet and the chocolate flavor was dark and rich. They gave us the option of various milks as well including soy and almond. The coffee flavor in the Americano was bold without being bitter, which I enjoy. They offer various iced drinks as well, teas and I saw some smoothies made with yogurt as an option. On the menu was a coffee drink called the Sonoran, this is what the described as an intense Americano which is more espresso than water, I saw this option a few times here in Mexico.
The ambiance is very much that of a coffee house with local art, a loft, table and couches. Very much what you'd expect along with some soft slow reggaeton playing the background so you remember you're in Sonora. Stop by and give them a try.
I'll be back Olympus. read more
