ServiceMaster completely turned their backs on us in a time of need and refused to even communicate with us. It was another blow that was absolutely devastating following the massive loss we experienced from the flood. Needless to say, we eventually gave up on the company altogether. I had the pleasure of working with Randy. We needed repairs done in our master bathroom, where the roof had failed, and left a huge mold spot on our ceiling. The spores had also spread over time, and left a musty smell in the house. Randy was very professional, showed up on-time for our initial consultation, and honest about his assessment. Admittedly, it took us a couple of weeks before we reached out to schedule an appointment (life happens!), and we were pleasantly surprised that Randy was unavailable due to business travel regarding mold solutions - that's a man dedicated to his job! There ended up being a scheduling conflict with the original work day, but Randy called us to make sure we would be okay with the slight delay. I went down in my crawlspace to investigate a rodent problem and found some sections of missing and…read moredamaged vapor barrier as well as some white mold. I hired H2O Away to remedy the situation. They sent some guys out. I checked the crawlspace afterwards and the work wasn't completed. After some back and forth they sent a different crew out. They also put a dehumidifier down there as agreed. Unfortunately the dehumidifier was pointless as the work still wasn't completed and the mold wasn't remedied. The original person I spoke to ghosted me but I found someone else to talk to. They offered to come out and try a third time but we agreed instead to terminate our business relationship and pay a discounted amount. I get that paying for staff and equipment costs money, but in the end I still paid about $2k for services that had approximately $0 value to me as I still needed to do the work myself. A contractor friend of mine said to be really careful about who you get to work in your crawlspace. Companies that work down there get the lowest paid, least qualified guys to do those undesirable jobs. As at my house, they often don't actually complete the work because most homeowners won't go down there to verify it was actually done. I am inclined to agree. I would guess that many of the positive reviews are from people who trusted that the work was done rather than verifying it themselves. The picture is from after their second visit. They did come really quickly, but all they did when they got there was mark what was wet. It was odd. This happened right before we went on vacation, and luckily they said they would be able to take care of it in the week we were out of town. In my mind- take care of it meant get everything fixed, I was so wrong. The day we were flying home, an HVAC guy we had never met or been in contact with called to say he could not install our heat because our house was such a mess. I was shocked and called H20 Away to see what had happened. Our coordinator was not in contact with the people who were at our house and had no idea. We ended up coming home from our trip to no heat, no water, and a house that looked like it had been torn up by animals. We had NO idea they were going to remove our shower, all of our cabinets and countertops, our stove, and our HVAC. This was all done without our knowledge. Our coordinator and scheduler never really knew what was happening inside the house, which was super challenging. The project took about a month, with barely any progress happening on each visit. We also had a different HVAC guy show up at 9:30 PM on a Tuesday. I called H20 away to ask about it and they said they gave him our door code and figured we wouldn't be home. WTF? This scared us. I was grateful they worked with our insurance directly, but they really misled us in terms of the scope of work, how long it would take, the quality of the work, etc. Our house is completely torn up. The contractor they recommended we work with to fix it has 2 stars on Yelp, so I will just be cutting contact with them going forward since our insurance has already paid them out (for an OBSCENE amount based on the work they did). The people are nice and they came over quickly, but the work itself as well as the communication and schedule was super disappointing.

Among 4 bids, we chose them since they had the best pricing and because the estimator Brandy (who was also working with another roofing company) highly recommended who had been a former general contractor that partnered with them. She was an honest, professional, and trustworthy communicator who was able to convince me over the other 3 bid from companies that other friends had referred. When we narrowed down to the final 2 bids with almost the same price, I let Brandy know if they could break the tie and came back with a $500 cut to win the bid (the other company felt their bid was already too low so didn't budge) Appreciating that they were willing to price beat another competitor and we went with them. Picking out the shingle color was last minute (few hours notice) when there was 2 weeks to get it taken care of but were able to change the order once we had time to communicate our color the next morning. They cleaned up all debris from the roof overall. The shingles got dropped off the day before. We didn't hear any complaints from the neighbors who verified all was cleaned up after the job. About 40 nails were left in our driveway post job that we had to clean up. I let the owner know know Saturday and they offered immediately to come by on the next business day Monday to clean up the nails. Since we were nervous about puncturing the neighbor's tires so we went ahead and bought a $30 magnet sweep to take care of it right away. Our deck roof awning got a minor hole and our cat's outdoor enclosure accidentally got hit with roofing that led to our cat escaping and a punctured paw from him climbing out where the structure was compromised--but thankfully the cat returned and paw healed in a day. We understand those accidents can happen so we don't hold that against them. To my knowledge, IPros wasn't aware it happened to give us a heads up as that's all we ask. If it wasn't for the estimator's professionalism, I may have not enjoyed the process along the way as it felt less professional in terms of communiciation. The owner offered to come and fix the roof awning who came the next business day to measure the hole after calling him. About a week later, with many follow-ups, the roof awning got fixed! If you want want a high, professional touch of communication in the process before, during or after, being handheld throughout the process in a timely fashion without any follow-up--it may not be for you. If you don't mind a more rough style and timing of communication in the process of the project, but will absolutely get the job done and is professional worksmanship-wise at a low price, then I'd recommend them.
