    chicken teriyaki bowl

my favorite teriyaki to get in town. i grew up with these so i crave them all the time and it amazes me the quality is still top notch. the service is always superb and i've never experienced any problem through all these years. still the perfect lunch to get in k town.

    Dry Teriyaki Bulgogi Burger (Combo)

[[HIGHLIGHT]]Location is a cute little burger spot with seats along the window and a few tables for dining in.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] The cashier was pleasant and the place was clean. They have a nice menu and We were excited to try the teriyaki bulgogi burger and welcomed the crinkle cut fries as add on with the combo selection. Took a chance on wings in Koreatown hoping they would fit the desire for Korean wings. Well, needless to say... burger and topped bulgogi were both very dry the added thousand island dressing was watery. The wings were nice sized crispy wings, however had no flavor what so ever.‍ I must say the saving grace of this combo were the crinkle cut fries.

    Chicken Bowl

I usually get the chicken bowl from time to time and the portion is pretty filling. Lots of chicken too, gochujang sauce is delicious as well.

    Fries, pastrami, shrimp

honestly don't understand how this place has such high ratings. I ordered a pastrami sandwich combo, a cheeseburger combo, and fried shrimp, and every item was disappointing. The pastrami sandwich had only a single thin layer of meat, it was cold, and it had almost no flavor. The fries were burnt and bland. The cheeseburger was also flavorless, and the fried shrimp wasn't any better. Overall, the food tasted like it had been thrown together with very little care. Unfortunately, this was a complete letdown, and I wouldn't order from here again.

Second time here! Ordered a single bulgogi burger & combination burrito! Food: First time trying the combination burrito and it was thicckk! It had a sweet & spicy flavor- they didnt skimp on the fixings! Intended to save half for later and realized I was already down to the last bite. Oops! The bulgogi burger is just as good as the first time I tried it! For a single burger, I felt like the portions were perfect, the flavor of bulgogi leaves a smokey sweet taste! Ambiance: no frills. A couple bar style seating and a few tables. Service: The service is quick & straightforward. The lady (may be the owner?) also suggested some rice bowls to try for next time. I look forward to trying the rest of the menu.

Tried this place for the 1st time today and man it exceeded my expectations! I ordered the boneless rib bowl (comes with rice) The lady at the register was so kind to us as well. Definitely will be coming back!

When hot food is packed into a sealed to-go box, it tends to get soggy over time, which really affects the flavor and texture of the rice. Using vented containers could help keep the food fresher. The Teriyaki Shrimp would be even better if it had more of the distinct teriyaki flavor that matches the name, and the Chili Burger would taste great with more chili sauce on top. Our group of about ten people had a hard time enjoying the meal this time, but with fresher ingredients and a few small changes, the food could be much more enjoyable.

Great food here and speedy service. The chicken teriyaki plate is a must have for meat lovers. A nice place to dine in or do takeout if you're on the go. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Cool environment in the heart of K-town.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]

I am obsessed with their happy hour, which offers healthy items at discounted prices with generous portions! I have been here so many times throughout the years but most recently found myself here during a busy World Cup match! Regardless, the service and quality of food was not sacrificed! I was greeted as soon as I got there and the bartenders were overwhelmed but still friendly and helpful. I was so tempted to get a margarita, since theirs are amazing, but decided to keep it dry and just get their vegan nachos. I was able to score a table outside on their lovely patio, which felt secluded enough from the main street. My food was brought out quicker than I thought and I was delighted, as I was famished! The vegan nachos here are fantastic and the happy price is only $10, which is a steal for what you get! They are costed in the most magical concoction of a bean puree, cashew cheese sauce, and guacamole which all have the most creamy, luscious and savory flavors. It's so hearty and well seasoned and not only filling, but you feel great after. Parking is pretty easy, as there are usually ample meters available nearby. I cannot wait to return again soon the next time I'm in Downtown LA! I am hoping to try more of their vegan options and next time I will for sure get a drink to go along with their delicious food!

This past visit I came with a large group and was still seated immediately. I didn't realize just how large it is inside, as I usually am towards the front or on the small front patio. ANYWAY The Korean wings were very good but admittedly could have been a bit spicier. The loaded fries had a bit too much melty cheese on top that oversaturated the other ingredients. The chicken quesadilla was I enjoyed but was a little basic. Last time I was here before this I had a chicken tikka quesadilla which I think was a more inventive dish that is certainly more memorable than this one. I ended up paying it(because they leave you no choice), but my biggest issue isn't the amount itself. It's that there was no clear notice beforehand. If a restaurant automatically adds gratuity or service charge, especially for a single diner, that should be clearly disclosed before you order or at least be prominently stated in the beginning. A 20% tip should reflect exceptional service. That wasn't the experience I had. The lack of transparency left a bad impression and felt dishonest. With so many great restaurants in Los Angeles that offer better food, better service, and straightforward billing, I wouldn't recommend this place.

We topped it off with the Choco flan and split that dessert, which was a great call because we were stuffed! For the Choco flan, I recommend making sure you take every single layer along with a bite of the espresso ice cream together to give you the complete perfect bite. We appreciated the friendly server's recommendations, they were spot on! The only negative was the tables were slatted with big gaps, and we could see old food in the slats below that had not been cleaned out, and when the salsa spilled it actually almost spilled on my white skirt because there wasn't anything to catch the spillage towards the end of the table Parking was next-door and was paid parking only. Cute building with lovely patio seating: from the trailing hanging pothos plants, Spanish tiles, to relaxing latin-house music the vibes were welcoming. I'm not much of a drinker though, when asked if I wanted to make my pina colada a "float" I thought incorrectly about ice cream. It was graciously explained that you take an additional shot of rum and float it on top of the drink or mix in to make it extra boozy. The pina colada is top notch they hollow out a real pineapple to make the drink and it's the size of your face! The watermelon cocktail was delicious and there is also a mezcal option. Tasted like if a watermelon aqua Fresca was combined with a margarita, there is a hint of salt that brings out the fruit sweetness. We special ordered a bunch of different proteins and vegetables at half portions to make a feast: Aguachile- Light refreshing starter, kanpachi perfectly marinated and great for the summer heat. Crispy potato- Phenomenally done fingerling potatoes. Whipped beans- Carnitas on top made this dish. Fried chicken tacos- Found the chicken slightly on the dry side, if there was a creamy/thicker sauce would be even better... nothing wrong with flavor, good mild heat. I did enjoy the fresh shredded cabbage and carrots, reminded me of bahn mi. Empanadas- Loved the acidity of the sauce that cut through the fattiness of the ground meat. Light shell. Crispy Squash flower- Delicate crunch, like an angelic version of a jalapeno popper. Lamb chops- Definition of "treat-yourself" luxurious meat lollipops. Celery salad- Simple dish but the lemon flavor and tartness really helped break up the richness of other dishes. Churros- Light crunch and small, petite dessert. The thin caramel sauce is addicting. Fine dining, for those special occasions or if you just want to splurge for a morale boost highly recommend this restaurant. This time, I had six dishes, split with my friends: the fig and gorgonzola pizza (again--why mess with a fave?), the octopus and calamari (surprise hit!), the oxtail ravioli (good--but not my favorite; portion was super small too!), the gnocchi (good, but not amazing), the lamb ragu pici (AMAAAAAAZING!). We also had some beverages; a cellador saison and 2 glasses of red wine. The service and attention is good. I will say that inside the restaurant, it is BUMPING! We are so glad we got a table out on the patio so we could actually converse (inside the restaurant, the music is so loud, you practically have to yell!) If you sit outside, say hi to the family of raccoons on the roof! I will also say, since 2022, this restaurant is now "highly recommended" by the Michelin guide...which has definitely increased its popularity. Somehow, this has translated to much smaller portions though. They encourage sharing "family style" with friends, but the portions are so small, you really only get a few bites from the pasta dishes before it's all gone! (The pizza is at least bigger). So, while Bestia is fantastic, prepare to order a lot more to be truly full and spend at least $100 per person. For all 6 dishes, drinks, and tax (without tip) our total for 3 people was $250.01.
