The burger was really yummy, as if it was made at home. With the banana peppers- fire fire fire. The fries were a bit overcooked and I'm just not a fan of crinkle cut fries haha but fries are fries. Tried to give this place a fair shake. But let's just start with the order Double Cheese burger with fries n a drink. When I asked for ketchup and mustard added they said they can only put it on the side... what? Um okay. Get my food and the drink was the size of a toddler sipping cup. I ordered a side of ranch and I'm almost positive it was watered down. The burger it self wasn't fresh, you can tell it's like a store frozen patty cooked. Walked in during lunch and walked up to the cashier with no greeting. I spoke to her in Korean for the Galbi bowl for here. She immediately lit up asking me, "The one with the bone in, right?" I told her no the one smaller portion. Within an instant she spoke in a condescending tone of voice, "Oh, the one with the less meat." I kept a friendly composer and asked why she would say it like that. Without taking accountability of her actions, Christine or Christina blamed it on her lack of Korean proficiency. At that point, I didn't want to continue the conversation and sarcastically replied, " Is that so? " When the food came out, she had packed in a bag for to go when I had told her I wanted it for here. Again no apologizing or acknowledging the mistake, her tone of voice flattened again as she said, "I'll take it over it to you." The food itself as you can see in the picture isn't much. Perhaps 80% rice 15% meat and those sad pieces of brocolli and two chilies for $18 and some change. Some pieces were purely fat pieces and tough too. I used to come here all the time when it was under the previous owners, it was always packed and busy with hospitality existing. Back in the 80's on the corner of Vermont & Olympic you could get a scissor cut, play some pool after and then grab yourself a Colossal Burger over at Olympic Burger. Fries that come out piping hot like they were served up from Hades, added to the satisfying food coma after. The barbers have long retired and the pool hall mysteriously burned down recently but Olympic Burger still remains, surviving by the fact that the locals never forgot the taste from their childhoods. Been going to Olympic Burger for years. The Good The Chicken Terriyaki Plate never misses. It has for decades been consistently delicious everytime I order it. Also a great value for the portion size. It's what keeps me coming back. The Rib plate is also a classic, however, a little on the pricier side. Their service is solid, never have had to wait long for an order, and the order is always correct, which in these times is a major plus. The Bad Unfortunately its the Burger for me. Ordered an impossible burger a couple of times. Not sure why, but the bun is always smashed and tastes like its stale and been sitting on the shelf for weeks. Also, the sauce is non existent, its too watery and very bland. I order impossible burgers throughout the city, and even though Olympic Burgers is probably the cheapest, I would still pay the extra couple dollars for a much better, fresher tasting burger. They really need to try to get the burgers more visually appealing and flavorful. The little things matter. The fries are crinkle style, which I like, but they are a little on the thick side, so sometimes the outside is nice and crispy but the inside is a little dry and overcooked. Overall a decent place, I will still keep coming back for the Terriyaki, but passing on the burgers until they catch up to the competition. read more
