Food, service and atmosphere have always been spot on even during construction of the addition. The owner is personable and friendly.

First time I ordered take out. "Green beans" for my entree... A green bean, tomato and beef dish served over rice. Very tasty! It came with a salad which was fresh with nice homemade vinaigrette. The cabbage rolls were nicely done and tasted good with squeezed lemon. The hummus was homemade but under seasoned for me. I added salt but wished for more tahini flavor. The wholewheat pita were thin and not my favorite. The dessert, a pistachio stuffed pastry, was really yummy. Portions are generous. Next time I hope they have soup left. I'm glad they had enough customers at this new place to run out of a few menu items! I found the owner and his nephew to be very charming and friendly. read more

Decided to stop in for a early dinner today. I am so glad we did. I had the grilled salmon with veggies and a salad. My wife had the beef kabobs with salad. She also ordered hummus as well which was amazing so she said lol. The owner Dominique was friendly and made sure we didn't want for anything. The salmon was cooked perfectly and top it off I got extra veggies when I asked for no rice. I am on a ketogenic diet so it was great. The portion size of the salmon was large. I can honestly say it was well worth the trip. My wife's beef kabob was tender and juicy and she was enjoying the rice as well. The highlight that I even tried with my dish was the garlic sauce which was ............. Wow delicious. My wife loves the hummus and stated it was great. If you want great Lebanese food then come to olive tree. The pricing was reasonable and food was great. The owner also showed he cares and took us down memory lane with the history of his restaurant which has been est since 1977. I will most assuredly return and keep Olive tree busy. read more

If I had to come back to Pasadena, this is the place where I would eat. This restaurant is in an older facility, but everything was very clean. Restrooms were very clean - a good sign. Vegetarian option was wonderful -- Rice w vermicelli, onions, mushrooms, good spices, hummus, falafel The food was up to par. I was impressed with the cleanliness of the peace and the friendliness of our waiter. I felt welcomed. I probably wouldn't drive from Houston to eat here, but it was a good experience. read more

Our waiter was kind and patient. Menu options were limited, as many places are, during COVID. Things were clean and well spaced. I ate the greenbean dish. My husband enjoyed the stuffed squash. Came here an hour before they closed. They weren't busy so we got seated quickly and placed our order. When the food came out it was freshly cooked even though it was a slow day. My neighbor's mom died of Covid last week. I wanted to take a meal to them. They are Pakistani by nationality. I was going to cook for them the comfort food that I know but I wasn't sure that my cooking would be a comfort to them. My other neighbor suggested I call the Olive Tree Restaurant and order food. Dominic the owner was so kind. He asked me about the family and offered to cook a complete meal for 4 and furnish it on his own platters and dishes. When I went to pick it up, it was hot and covered securely with saran wrap. Took it straight to my neighbor's home. It was wonderful. I thank him for his thoughtfulness and wonderful food. Second time there since the remodeling. The place feels more inviting now that the dining room has been expanded. The beef kabob, steak & onion sandwich, a the gyro are a excellent choices. I have tried all of the appetizers and I would recommend every one of them. After your meal, get some Turkish coffee and baklava, worth a trip just for that. Friday night is belly dancer night! I was not expecting this place to be so wonderful! My husband and I recently moved to the area and we've been looking for a nearby place that isn't a chain because there seem to be lots of chains around. So we heard about this place but I was skeptical from the outside and wow was I worng. It wasn't very busy but the service was great and the manager was very pleasant and attentive to us. We had everything we needed. The only downside was I thought the place could have been a little more kid-friendly, especially the menu. But with that said, the food was amazing!!! It was so much better than any other place we had tried so far. I cannot say enough great things about the food, the service, and the overall quality of the restaurant. I got the shish Taook. It was INCREDIBLE. Perfectly seasoned and cook perfectly. The rice was on point, and the taum was the perfect consistency and taste. This place does not disappoint, and I highly recommend you give it a try. I did get a piece of baklawa. Wish there was more for the price($3) for a 2" triangle of it, but all in all, 10/10. I had high hopes for this place based on the reviews but we were very disappointed. We walk in and we aren't greeted so I'm not sure if we seat ourself or wait. I waited a few minutes and a lady comes out to us. I ask for a table for five and she asks if I have a reservation. I said no and looked around to see the place was almost empty. The owner came over and made a big deal about getting us a table. I thanked him and we are seated. We ordered some appetizers cabbage roles and hummus with pita bread. The Hummus was average and the cabbage roles were not very good. They were very small and had a odd flavor, kind of minty with a vinegar after taste. Very odd flavor. The kids and I opted for gyro sandwiches with fries ($3 extra) and my wife chose the cornish hen. The gyro meat was slimy and appeared to have been reheated in a microwave and not freshly carved off a rotisserie. The $3 extra small serving of fries were way undercooked, greasy, and had zero seasoning (not even salt or pepper). My wife's hen was so over seasoned with sage that she could barely eat it. The green peas which were mixed with rice tasted like they were frozen. None of the food tasted or looked fresh. Even though the restaurant was half full, the service was extremely slow. When our food arrived our son asked for ketchup which didn't arrive we were almost finished eating. When he squeeze some ketchup out of the bottle it poured out like water as if it had been watered down. After waiting far to long for our check I was finally able to flag down a waitress and ask for our check. I also presented her with a Yelp coupon for a free appetizer. She agreed the coupon could be used, but when she returned with our check she had not removing the charge for one of the appetizers. After waiting about 15 minutes for her to return I got tired of waiting and walked over to the register. The very nice man (the owner I presume) asked if he could help. I showed him the coupon for the appetizer and explained it was not removed from the check when I showed it to the waitress, he then removed it from our ticket. Given our experience I can safely say we will not be returning. In my option the quality of good is below average for similar restaurants in the area and for the price there are much better med. style restaurants to choose from with fresher food and better service. read more

I have enjoyed the Olive Tree in the past but today I was disappointed with the service. I ordered a to go order and was told 15 to 20 mins for a Greek salad with gyro meat. I got there about 25 mins after I called it in and when I got there 3 teens where standing around the register. Two of them looked at me and smiled and I waited for a couple mins before anyone said anything to me. I told them I had a to go order and they asked if I ordered I said yes. Then they told me to take a seat. I sat for about 10 minutes longer waiting for my food. So by this point I have waited 45 minutes for a salad. I've never had this issue and the food is good but those teens have horrible customer service. One of the teens offered me a cup of water for my wait..... I had a hard time not laughing. Those kids need to learn how to serve people. read more

I really want to like this place, but I'd give most of the food a 3/5 and the prices are a little high for what you get. Now for experiences: We went once with a gluten-allergy friend because the restaurant was on another app, but when we explained what she needed, the waiter was totally confused. Look, I don't think you need to have a million gluten free options, but you can at least say clearly whether or not your food is. Another time we went to see the belly dancers on Friday night, which we were excited about because, yeah, I'd pay extra money for food if it includes a floor show! But the dancers kind of shimmy around the restaurant--they don't really have a place to perform--so you're cutting into your grape leaf and suddenly someone's hip is at your elbow. It was amazing what those ladies can do, but there wasn't much personal space. The proprietor seemed like a cool dude, and some of the patrons obviously had a personal relationship with him, which is awesome. read more

The service was A++ as well as the food presentation. I tried a few different dishes. The hummus & pita is a must! The BEST hummus I have ever had! The falafel plate was okay, definitely not for me though. I ordered the gyro, which unfortunately, was mediocre. I have had far better. The tzatziki sauce was also poor. It was extremely watery. However, the beef kabob plate was one of the BEST dishes I have ever had in my life!! That plate made up for the lack of the others. Their garlic sauce pairs beautifully with the beef.
