Not my favourite place i must say.. Staff are rude, unwelcoming, abrupt etc. Food ok. Not worth the money you pay at all. Do not expect to get your moneys worth. The outside of the building kind of says it all. Its a shame really because i go on the don't judge it by the cover.inside it looks alot nicer.then you see a memeber of staff evil-eyeing you for interrupting their converation with a colleague. No sense of any managerial person until you need to see one. I probably won't return. read more

I'm surprised to see so many bad reviews of this restaurant as it's not been my experience at all. I actually prefer this place to most of the samey chain Italian restaurants which dominate this part of town. The food has always been very good when I've been and the specials board is usually where the best dishes are. My parents are also fond of this place and they can be quite particular over service and food, but perhaps we've all been lucky. read more

Surprised to see so many negative reviews about service - the staff were perfectly pleasant from my experience and service wasn't slow at all (and it was a busy night). There's two menus - a Moroccan themed with tagines etc and the traditional Italian. We went for Italian and while nice, it wasn't the best food I've ever tasted and I'm in no massive rush to go back. However, if you'd rather avoid the chains all over the place it might be an idea to go here. One note of caution - do NOT order the mozzarella & tomato starter. It's a small piece of cheese with a little bit of tomato for over a fiver - we found hilarious. Or rather, my boyfriend did as I was paying. read more

Absolutely appalling staff attitude towards customers - especially the floor manager. One of our party had the seafood risotto and the muscles had not been cleaned out properly so they left the food. The waitress took it back to the kitchen and they apologised - when the bill came they had still charged us for the meal so we asked then to take it off and the manager spoke extremely rudely towards us and was adamant she was right and told us we were not welcome to eat there again. We DO NOT RECOMMEND anyone to eat here - not after the service we received. read more

We went here for a friends birthday after it came recommended. Big mistake. We got sat next to a large open window, which we couldnt close, it was very cold outside and we tried to get the staffs attention but failed. Eventually a staff member came and managed to shut the window, he took our drinks orders and food order and went away, that was the last we saw of him. an hour later and several hails to passing staff that fell on deaf ears we still hadnt had our drinks or our food. after almost an hour and 40 minutes our food eventually came. For the wait, there was no apology just food dumped and gone. If they waited 5 minutes we would have been able to ask for our drinks, and told them that someones meal in our group was absolutly stone cold to the point of being inedible. We were disgusted at the service and way we were treated and it ruined a birthday. wont be coming back read more

Generally not bad though sometimes slow service. The house red is pretty nice and I like this place better than the numerous chain Italian joints in town. read more

We went to the Olive Grove at 5pm on 29th December. The place was virtually empty but the service was appalling. Our table of 9 was set-up at the back of the new part of the restaurant, which seemed ideal to begin with. But after we were seated, we were basically ignored and found it very difficult to summon a member of staff. Apart from being apparently reluctant to take drink orders and walking away when we were half way through telling them what we wanted, they failed to clear the table of glasses when new drinks eventually arrived, took orders for desserts but returned 10 minutes later to announce that certain options were no longer available and delivered the desserts with no cutlery on the table. The food itself is only okay and nothing to rave about (the pasta dishes are nothing you couldn't prepare yourself and Tesco's tiramissu is far superior). One of our party went through to the front of the restaurant to register her disappointment and was met with complete indifference. And they still added a service charge to the bill. read more

Used to be one of my favourite places, but not anymore. Excellent deco. Lovely salad bar. Lovely baklava. Tasty mezzes. Sadly the standard of customer service has dropped. On arrival the waiter said we could choose a seat, but were not taken to the dining hall. As we entered the diner, the menus were just put down on the table whilst the waiter walked off. Our orders given to a different waiter were vegetarian and specifically for meals not containing bacon. Minutes later a waitress presented us with two plates without announcing what they were and walked off. It didnt look like what we'd asked for plus chips had been excluded, so we asked. The bread was burnt on the underside. The waitress answered us from a distance saying she would bring the rest of the meal if we wanted it all at once! The waiter arrived with our drinks, glared at us eating then walked away looking rather disturbed. Suddenly the manager and the waiter walked passed the dining hall, looking our way. By this stage it felt like something was not right. Upon chatting to the couple at the table next to us, we no sooner discovered that we had been given what they had ordered. Minutes later the waiter arrived with bacon on both plates! When we told the waiter this was what we hadnt ask for, he asked whether we wanted him to take it away. He left returning with the manager, who then accused us of knowingly eating what we had not ordered. He explained to my friend who was very upset by the ruined evening, that the menu was halaal except for some dishes, which contained bacon. He said the vegetarian meal had already been done. We requested to have it as a take away. He agreed to take the bacon meals away if we wanted. Minutes later the waiter appeared with the vegetarian meal on a plate ready for us to eat in the restaurant. The evening ended where we were expected to pay for what we hadnt asked for and pay for the mistake of a waitress. The waiter listened poorly when taking our order. The manager handled the situation very unprofessionally. The waitress was not asked to apologise and acknowledge her mistake to us as customers. It was a disappointing experience. read more
