Olive oil made from olive trees grown on their property --single origin. #OliveOilTasting
    Dominique D.

Olivas de Oro is an olive oil grower and producer as they grow their olive trees right on their 160 acre property. I have searched high and I have searched wide to find a local single origin oil maker. I'm happy to report that they are located in California in Tin City. They provide tastings as they have numerous infused flavors including the basil purchased in photo. They start by pressing the herbs or peppers with freshly made olive oil and viola. They also offer artisan vinegars. It was clean inside and everyone friendly. I enjoyed the oil tasting experience as there were so many flavors to choose from. If you're ever in the area I warmly recommend this company. Hope you are planning your next visit because tag you're it!

I would have rated Olivas higher, but the woman working was very rude when we walked through the door. She literally asked us what we wanted in a snotty voice, as if we were inconveniencing her. I told her we wouldn't know until we got inside and saw what they had. They do have a great selection of olive oils. It was the salts that I was drawn to, they had one with some great heat (peppers) and a truffle salt that would be fantastic as a finishing salt. I would have happily bought more, but her attitude was horrible for a customer facing roll. Hopefully they have some staff training before my next visit.

My son's girlfriend was visiting from Northern California, and we decided to take them to Tin City for lunch at Etto Pasta Bar. Before lunch, we stopped by Olivas de Oro for an olive oil tasting. This was only my second visit to the shop; the first was in January 2024, when I left with bottles of olive oil, balsamic vinegar, and olive tapenade. If I'd stayed longer, my wallet would have taken an even bigger hit! Neither my son nor his girlfriend had ever been olive oil tasting, so this was a new experience for them. Our host was incredibly knowledgeable about the oils and walked us through the process behind this family-owned business. We tasted a variety of extra virgin olive oils, including Arbequina, Mission, and Mission Reserve, before moving on to their blends. The blends were especially interesting, with flavors like Meyer lemon and white fig, mandarin orange and vanilla bean, rosemary and Pacific spice, just to name a few. For those who enjoy heat, they offered spicy options like red chili garlic and habanero oils. While both were flavorful, I found them a bit too spicy for my cooking preferences. After sampling the oils, the kids explored the sauces and condiments. I revisited one of my favorites, the bacon chipotle jam, and also tried the BBQ slather--both were excellent and packed with flavor. The kids seemed to sample just about everything and thoroughly enjoyed the experience. Before leaving, I purchased a bottle of Mission EVOO and an aged balsamic vinegar. Both were put to good use that evening in a bruschetta appetizer, which was a huge hit. I also picked up a Meyer lemon olive oil as a gift. Paso Robles is brimming with great olive oils, from wineries that press their own to small family businesses scattered across the hills and even tasting rooms downtown. Olivas de Oro has quickly become one of my favorites. With fresh, flavorful offerings and excellent service, we'll definitely continue returning for our olive oil and vinegar needs.

This was the most fun and interactive tasting of our weekend in Paso Robles! We did a lot of wine tasting while we were in town, but the olive oil tasting was totally worth it. We scheduled a tasting in advance; tastings are free, but we upgraded to the "happy ending", which in this case is a mandarin orange brownie and a glass of champagne priced at $15 a person. We spent about 15 minutes doing the tasting, which included olive oils, balsamic vinegar, jams, tapenades, and even two chimichurri sauces. The person helping us was super friendly and informative and answered all of our questions. We bought some olive oil and balsamic vinegar to take home with us. They also have an online store which I will be visiting when I need to restock.

Olive oil tasting is not something I knew I needed in my life until after visiting Olivas de oro on a whim. If you need a little break from wine tasting while visiting paso, look no further, this is the perfect stop. My group of 4 showed up with no reservations and were walked through a roughly 45 min tasting of all of their oil oils, vinegars, fun jams and chutneys. This experience was free but felt like something we should have paid for. The service was impeccable and I'd recommend to anyone in the area visiting. I was so impressed with all of the offering that I tried during my visit that I seriously considered joining the club. Maybe next time. I did, however, leave with a few small bottles of my favorite oils and vinegars.

The products they sell here are incredibly delicious. We were at the location inside Tin city . The host who helped us ( I forgot her name ) walked us through about 30 different combinations of olive oils & specialty vinegars , dressings & marinades . We bought the combo in my pictures for marinades & dressings . The cilantro jalapeño olive oil is so damn good, you get the essence of the peppers despite it not being very spicy. Our host gave us so many great tips for using their oils & we thoroughly enjoyed the hour we spent there .

Can't believe I never reviewed this Olive tasting room. Stumbled upon it while at tin city six months ago and then went back today. The girl that helped us Casey, last time gave us a tasting of at least four olive oil's and four balsamic. Went back today and my husband tasted some different ones. My favorite olive oil is basil and my favorite balsamic is blackberry. We ended up purchasing two medium bottles and two small. It's such a cute place and they have other things you can buy. Attached is some of the oils that they sell and how you can pair them.

I love this place :) If visiting Paso Robles, this is a place you don't wanna miss. This place made olive oil tasting more fun. Or shall I say, Suzi made the experience so fun and wondeful. Suzi was informative, patient, and lovely. My friend and I got to try a variety of olive oils and vinegar. Good olive oils and vinegar just hit different from the reg ones at the market. Can definitely taste the differences. The dipping sauce tasting was impressive. There were so many to taste. Seriously, we wanted to buy almost all of em. Pretty much, every single one was flavorful & tasty. The anchovy one had a very unique taste. It was so good. Thank you, Suzi, for an amazing experience. We had such a great time here. We even got a few to bring home.

Found this place through Yelp and it was one of a couple just off our way south, so it wasn't hard to make a pit stop. We were helped by a brunette lady (I forget her name), who was delightful and very knowledgeable. She gave us a sampling tour which gave us the breadth of flavors of olive oils. Who knew there was so many varieties?! Ok so maybe just I don't know but... Anyway, we left with 2 varieties: the cucina (blend of varietals) and soltera (one olive) as well as a spice mix and some truffle salt. Mmmm all so good! We have since been ordering olive oil from Pasolivos now for a few months since the visit. And now we cannot go back to the Costco olive oil we used to get. Btw, imported olive oil is likely not pure olive oil. There's no quality control, so you don't know what you'll get (cut with canola, etc). Seriously, we cannot go back to our old olive oil ways. We are now addicted to this award winning locally sourced California olive oil from Pasolivos! I kinda wish we could give that lady who helped us some kind of commission for our monthly orders.

6 Star Alert. 6 star Alert. 6 star Alert. 6 star Alert…read more SIX STAR ALERT. SIX STAR ALERT. That right people, I said it.... And 6 times to be exact! Because let me tell you, the Spice of Life in Downtown Paso Robles not only deserves those 6 stars, but they truly EARNED each & every star (plus a bonus star) that I am awarding them for their exceptional hospitality. Now, let me tell you why! While in Paso for my wife's weekend birthday getaway, we had such fun time casually strolling the streets with no where to be. While window shopping, going in and out of the various shops, and just meandering through the downtown area.... We suddenly came across a little business called: The Spice of Life From the outside, it was pretty obvious what we were about to get into... ----Spices----Herbs----Teas---- Hey, they had me at Spices, but the rest is what kept me from leaving there anytime soon. Upon entering this quaint little shop, we were immediately immersed into a world that I Love. Spices, Spices and more Spices!!! Yeah, I'm that guy that at home, not in public of course, that will put a little spice on my hand and lick it off (to test it of course). I know, but I'm just a spice freak, what can I say! Yeah, give me a good lemon pepper, a blended steak seasoning or even a Kansas City Bbq Rub and I'll gladly give it the "Lance Lick of Approval". Yeah, I'm a Spice Man, & I'm not afraid to admit it. And let me tell you, this place has got spices!! Yeah, there are Jars and Jars, & more Jars of the finest, most incredible spices you can dream of. But on Top of the Spices... There are Oils, Vinegars, Teas, Tea Accessories, Herbal Supplements, Books, and More! And with all that shopping... Why not grab a quick bite alongside a freshly brewed coffee or tea at their mini cafe right on the premises. Heck, we did! (We had the Vanilla Chai Tea Latte) And it was Fire! So what makes this place earn a well deserved 6 star review?? It wasn't just their great product. Or even their beautifully prepared drink. It was their hospitality, their graciousness, and the human connection that we felt that went above the typical customer vs. retailer interaction. The lady who assisted us (forgive me but I forget her name) but she might have been maybe the owner or maybe even manager of the place was so kind, helpful and made our experience exceptional, so thank you for that! With so many great gift ideas and things that we needed for our own household, you know we did some damage and got a few things to take back home. So.... If you are a fan of spices like me, love yourself some tea, are looking for some unique, fun gift ideas or just want to enjoy a nice, quaint shop where the service hopefully exceeds your expectations like it did for me... Then take my highly recommended suggestion and get over to the... Spice of Life in Downtown Paso Robles ASAP!!!

It was perfect timing, plenty of seating indoor and optional back patio seating with a waterfall. The table had extra plates, which was great because we were sharing our plates. We ordered an appetizer they had as a special(I forgot the name) but it was fried macaroni (not macaroni and cheese) balls with a pomodoro sauce. Beautiful presentation and everything complemented each other, definitely would get it again. We ordered Cacio e Pepe, the sauce was creamy, pasta cooked perfectly and seasonal pesto with walnuts and fresh basil, very good. I noticed that the restaurant closed at 4. And we got there to order our food to go at 3:10. I wasn't going to be that person who sat down and made the servers wait for us to leave. We go upfront, and there was an older woman who was on the phone taking an order, looked at us and continued with the phone call. She sounded like she may had been struggling with getting the order placed and figuring out the systems. We waited, no problem. Then I believe one of the other hostess or possibly the bartender came to take our order, had great recommendations, took my info and told us 10-15. Perfect. We then come back, and now the lady who was on the phone, messed up someone's order and didn't give him his change back and was struggling again. Then asked us "what we are here for" and "is this for catering or what". We said we placed the order in the restaurant, and told her my name. She then can't understand who took our order and how they placed it and it would've been nice to know that we didn't call but that we had placed in person.... Again... she looked at us before. As she gives us our bag of food, she blaming us for not telling her we placed the order in person. I would've liked to go back the next day because the food was good but I seriously didn't have the patience to deal with her attitude. The other servers were sweet. Besides her, the food was absolutely delicious. I would HIGHLY recommend the Mighty Cap Mushroom pasta. It was very creamy & had the right amount of mushrooms. My sister tried the Cacio de Pepe and it was very delicious and if you like pepper, that's your pasta! We also tried the eggplant parm and the portion was small but worth it for getting to try it. It was very tasty! Last taste was the beef bolognese. Sooo goood. The food spoke for itself. Delicious.
