I was ony way to the city center from my AirBnb apartment and needed to use a restroom. I saw a sign related a bar, so I stepped in and ordered a beer before taking advantage of using the bathroom. After coming back to the bar, I stuck up a conversation with Carmelo. I first noticed the high quality Scotch one side of the bar. Then he casually pointed to his shelf on the right side, and my heart melted. Just coming off a trip to Puerto Escondido, I still haven't forgotten the sweet, spicy, and smoking notes of the various brands of mezcal. Carmelo proceeded to give a sampling of his favorites. With each sample, Carmelo have a detailed description in both English and Italian of the various brand. Very knowledgeable man from an who has never been to mezcal country so I very impressed. Further, every client who happened to be Italian specifically came for a taste of tequila or mezcal. I didn't order any food, and didn't care.
