Cones of nuts! I've had better, but it's a good sweet treat if your walking around the Plaza Del Pasado. On the day I was here hey had peanuts, cashews, and walnuts. The walnuts and cashews seemed to be overcooked. Peanuts were the best. 4 bucks for a small cone. I don't think you'll need more that that. They hand out a bunch of samples so you can decide if you like them or not. There is a Panaderia next to this place with Mexican baked goods including churros. You might want to try that place. read more

I don't know why, but I've always enjoyed snacking on a cone of sweet/candied nuts while strolling and exploring (especially new places). Somehow, sharing this sweet treat makes things more festive and fun. On this occasion (while exploring the shops in Old Town), we shared a cone of sweet cashews. While in Old Towne in San Diego, we bought some roasted peanuts from Old Town Roasted Nuts San Diego. Not only was our order great, but the two ladies who were running the stand were two of the nicest ladies I have EVER met. They made a fresh batch just for us just because they wanted to make sure they were fresh. We didn't ask for fresh ones they did it all on their own! While we waited, they kept apologizing for the wait and gave us free samples. They bent over backwards to make sure we were happy. It felt like we were family getting taken care of by one of my husband's aunts! 100% would recommend! read more

Browsing through shops in old town ans stumbled across this amazing roasted nuts shop. TINA, I believe that's her name, sparked a conversation with us. And her persuasive skills made us buy nuts. I dont regret it, they were so bomb! Now everytime I go to old town ill make sure to stop by here and pick up some cashew nuts. But I will go back just for her! This is a MUST DO in Old Town! Nothing is better than walking into historic old town with the beautiful lights and nice weather and smelling the sweet, warm, sugary smell of almonds, walnuts, peanuts and cashews it's a cheap snack to snack on while you browse shops and wait for your table to be ready at one of the restaurants. I'm so upset to say I had a bad experience with the rude lady who was working there yesterday. My family and I took a trip to San Diego just to get away and wanted to check out the Old Town Historic park. My cousin, who's only 13 years old was trying to buy a soda for herself and for my grandma and the lady rudely said "we don't sell drinks here, go somewhere else". My cousin asked if they atleast sold water bottles and the lady said no then changed her answer and said yes but they're hot and my cousin went ahead and still bought them. The lady pulled out the waters from a cooler, so they were cold drinks when she first said they didn't sell drinks and when she said they did then said they were hot when they were actually cold ???? She pretty much didn't want to sell to us and was trying to get us to leave. Bad service. read more

Maybe I'm a little bias considering my friend owns the business, but their nuts are amazing! They have a cinnamon, vanilla, and sugar glaze that is roasted many times daily onto a variety of nuts. Products include roasted almonds, pecans, macadamia nuts, cashews, and probably a few I can't remember at the moment. Personally, I have to recommend the macadamia nuts (A favorite of my girlfriend and I). You can find them right at the entrance to Plaza Del Pasado in Old Town San Diego. You can even get a picture taken in front of their old town backdrop they created to remember your margarita filled "Sunday fun-day". You might have already tasted their nuts at Petco Park or seen them on the show "Sam the Cooking Guy". Old Town Nuts has 5 or so kiosks at Petco Park to quench your need for nuts... read more

Stopped by the stand about 7:40ish tonight, tried a couple varieties and were recommended walnut, and when we were sold on it were told that it wasn't ready and had to be made. She said it would only take 15 minutes, and as we had dinner planned nearby at Barra Barra we asked when she closed. She said she closed at 9. Cool. We paid for 3 cones and said we'd be back after our meal. We ate our dinner and returned at 8:20 to find the shop completely closed up and she was nowhere to be found. How do I get my $10 back? I've always had such a wonderful time at the Fiesta de Reyes and this was a huge letdown. read more

My husband absolutely loved the butter toffee peanuts! He ate the entire bag in one sitting......I had none so I went online to order. Tina is great and offers a sample of these delicious treenuts she sells. She was offering as a sample... cashews glazed with vanilla and cinnamon and I walked around the beautiful old town area and shopped and ate my snack then returned for more. The best deal is everything; but money wise it is the biggest container which is $10. I will be looking for you upon my return from Atlanta Tina! read more

Just walking by the stand is enough to lure you in with it's fabulous aroma! As a San Diego local I get down to Old Town several times a year, and I always make a point of getting my supply of nuts when I'm there! For those who require their nuts good and crispy, just a few minutes in a hot oven on a cookie sheet covered with parchment paper does the trick! read more

There is a greet at the front who was very friendly and told me how things worked. They also have gloves at the entrance to wear to protect their items.
