Cool barbershop. Cool vibe and friendly atmosphere. I like that it's only walk-ins and you don't have to reserve days/weeks/months in advance. I went in for the first time, lucked out and happened to get Sang! She knows how to fade AND cut hair! some barbers (outside of OTB) know how to fade but don't know how to cut hair or use a comb rather than their fingers to handle my hair when cutting the top. Sang actually uses her fingers to handle my hair to cut it. And she knows how to fade like the best of them. Probably one of the worst cuts I've had -- but the price was fair for what I got. Large patch missing from the back of my head, and very clear lines on the fade -- the attitude of the barber was not the best either. I do not recommend this shop unless you're in an emergency. read more

My husband and my two young boys won't go to any other barber shop. Old Town Barbers always take such great care of us and gives everyone the best cuts ever. We had Nick today and he was amazing with my one year-old. It was his second haircut ever, and Nick was so patient and sweet with him. It was an idyllic Saturday morning in Temecula and there was such a chill vibe in the shop.... Until my 11 month old toddled in for his first haircut ever! Nick was an absolute rockstar and literally got in a full body workout wrangling my wild alligator child in my lap and pulling off a great haircut! Seriously mad props. Despite my child totally ruining the vibe and screaming despite all efforts to distract with lollipops, snacks, Disney movies, and random barber shop objects - not a single other barber or customer gave us a stink eye which I wholeheartedly appreciate and says a lot about the culture there! I'm hoping the next cut goes a little better but I'm seriously so impressed with this shop and how awesome Nick was with my son! read more

My husband has been coming here for years pre covid. This afternoon he went in and gave the same instructions he has given his barber for years. Evidently, the new barbers here are right out of school. My husband has beautiful red hair and this barber shaved his head! As in 1/8 of an inch all over his head. I mean who does that??? It was my first time going to a barber shop in years so I didn't know what to expect, I showed the barber what I wanted and he just did something completely different, too short on the top and cut too much from the back. I pointed out that he cut on the top when I asked him not too and just gave me attitude telling me it was what I wanted when it wasn't at all. I had to buzz off the rest of my hair because of how bad he left it. If this is how barbers are I'll just stick back with what I was doing. So, during COVID times, I wasn't able to go to my regular hair stylist - they were closed down. I even thought of just letting my hair grow, since I used to have very long hair. But, I'm not a kid anymore. One day, I was at my local liquor store, and this big guy was in front of me in line, with an "Old Town Barbers" shirt on. I kinda laughingly commented, "I bet you can't wait for things to open up again!" He turned and immediately said with a smile, "We're open! Come down and see us." I was kinda amazed. Turns out, he was Casper, the owner! :) Now, I haven't been to a "barber" since I was a kid, with my grandpa. Really! And, I have to say, I've always thought they were mainly good at buzz cuts. Boy was I wrong! Super friendly staff. The prices are very reasonable (CASH ONLY - Just an FYI). My first experience was great. Doesn't hurt that each cut ends in a warm, straight razor shave and towel! This place is pretty big, and there was a fairly long list of people ahead of me. However, they got to me pretty darn fast for a Sunday morning. It was bustling. But everyone was laughing and having a great time. Will definitely be back, and with my kids! Nate does a fantastic job on our sons hair every time we go in! We usually just walk in and add our name to the list and the wait is relatively short each time. We've had other barbers and while they did fine, Nate just gets it. Chris did it right!!! After being to 2 different barber shops, Old Town was the crowd favorite on Facebook, so I had to give it a shot. I walked in and sat right down. There were people waiting for their favorite barber, but I went straight to Chris because it was my first time and Chris happened to be available. To note, I created a yelp account just to write this review because I am immensely disappointed in this barbershop. I am a perfectionist when it comes to my hair because if customers are paying top price for a haircut, it should be a top quality haircut. I have been going to this place for over a year. Had to switch to this place because every other barber shop was charging $25 and up for a haircut (Custom Cuts was my original go-to barbershop). This place was pretty much the last remaining barbershop charging $20. First haircut was by a young woman who evidently did not know how/had little experience with cutting men's hair. My friend and I both had her as our barber our first time here, and when we were looking at our cuts at home, we realized how many mistakes were made, and laughed it off as a potential off day for this barbershop. I went back and tried someone else, and thankfully Jacob was the guy who cut my hair. Been having him cut my hair for the past 11 months now. The last few months I have gone in, though I was a couple people down on the name list, I would wait well over an hour to have Jacob cut my hair. Turns out he and other barbers were taking appointments, and when they don't have an appointment scheduled, THEN they go to the list and call out your name if you are next. No one ever told me nor have I ever seen a notice that barbers take appointments. Absolute nonsense to have a list for customers to sign in and wait, but also take appointments; should be one or the other like every other barbershop that knows how to operate a shop. Today I went in and waited an hour for Jacob, only to have someone tell me he went home because he was sick. That's unfortunate for me but fine, things come up and I understand. They had another barber (forgot his name) cut my hair, it sounded like he knew what he was talking about because he was asking me these barber terms I had never heard before (I'm used to Jacob knowing what I like and I am not familiar with barber jargon). This barber was giving me some attitude when I did not understand the terms and when I was trying to politely explain what I usually get. Eventually, we both understand what needs to be done as I have requested. Long story short, this guy did not know how to do a simple skin fade. Got home and took a shower, and realized he butchered the skin fade; uneven fade, back of the head part of the fade is way too long, and you can clearly see the layers he cuts in when preparing the hair for the actually fade (Looks like three rings are cut into my head, each ring has a different length of hair). Perfect for me as I am going to a company meeting in a few days, and now have the unfortunate luck of having an obviously messed up haircut. So much for making a great first impression based on appearance. Another surprise for me today: they upped their price from $20 to $25 from the last time I came to this shop until today when I had my cut butchered. My disappointment is through the roof. Best part of the story: they close early on weekends, and they are closed on Mondays and I work a typical 9-5 job through the week, so I cannot even talk to management about the terrible service I had the dissatisfaction of overpaying for. My advice if you must come to this barbershop: Don't be a hair perfectionist, don't get a skin fade, and don't be picky as to who your barber is, or else you will have to wait an undetermined amount of time. Advice to management: Hire better barbers. Ensure they are competent enough to cut a wide array of men's haircuts. And lastly, if your barbers are uncomfortable doing a pretty simple haircut request, have them express it to the customer so they do not butcher the customer's hair. I'm confident I could have cut my own hair better than the cut I received today. They are overcharging for what is equivalent/worse than a Supercuts haircut. read more

We came in for our sons first Post Quarantine cut because our regular barber hadn't opened back up yet. We had Nick cut his hair and my son LOVED HIM. He was patient but fast, gentle with his head while cutting it and knew the cut I described and executed it perfectly. I'm sending my husband to come see him in the morning, he is loyal to his regular barber so I had to push him to go, but he's excited to try him out for himself after the rave review he heard from our son! As for our 9 year old, he's asked us to come back to Old Town Barbers for his regular haircuts. read more

I wish I could give a 100 star rating! Yesterday I took my 1 year old son to a children's salon for his first hair cut and they completely butchered his hair. I was in tears and needed it fixed asap. This morning I called Old Town Barbers just to double check they cut 1 year olds hair & Jesse was so awesome! He reassured me that they would take great care of my little guy and fix him up and to ask for him when I got in so he could fit us with one of their great barbers. As soon as you walk in you see kids and men of all ages getting their hair cut which definitely settled my anxious mama heart. We got paired with the next available barber Destiny and I can not RAVE about her more! Not only was she SO good and patient with my son but my sons hair looks a trillion times better! She was very communicative to me on what she was doing with his hair and asked me questions on what I preferred. I'd recommend to everyone and anyone! I cannot comment on their barber skills because from the moment I walked in I wasn't even acknowledged. I sat down, looked around and waited patiently for about a half hour. Stopped by for the first time while I'm staying in the area for the week and now I'm worried I'll have to keep coming all the way back to Temecula for a haircut because of what a good job they did!
