Fun thing to do on vacation! We got a Groupon deal for $7 that allowed up to 8 people in a photoshoot. Booking was easy and we were able to do it on the same day we purchased the deal. There were 7 of us, and the check-in was quick and easy. First you choose your background (saloon or formal living room for our party size), then they take the women back to choose the costumes. We can choose from short sassy dresses to long classy ones. You can buy a pair of fishnet pantyhose for $5 to keep. The guys also get dressed with western outfits with hats and gun holsters. They accessorize everyone before entering the set. The photographer was very experienced and told us how to sit and pose. We went through 5-6 poses and various expressions. It was a lot of fun. Once everyone was changed back, it took them about 5-10 min to load the pictures to the computer to let us choose from all of the shots. Additional prints are $25 each, added $5 for color print . Here's the thing. I don't leave reviews very often, but I really need to shout this place out. My family--a group of 6--stopped in after the first place we saw said they weren't taking walk-ins. We were immediately greeted warmly and told about the pricing. We waited for about 10 minutes while they finished up with another group, then they spent at least an hour with us from start to finish. They helped us into costumes and with choosing props, then they were great with getting us into poses--especially great with the kiddos. The process of selecting the photos was fun and interesting. The whole group had a great time, and we couldn't have been happier with the way everything turned out. As of January 2025, the sitting fee was $10 per person. We opted for the flash drive, which was $250, and you get all the photos plus two printed 8x10s. I'm sure you can find a cheaper option, but the customer service was excellent and everybody had fun. I have wanted to have old timey photos done since I was a little girl. My friends and I were passing through pigeon forge on our way to GA and I begged them to stop and get photos done with me. It was about 7 when we stopped, asked the price, agreed and touched up our makeup out in the car til about 715. There were two employees working at the time, one male one female. The male walked out and told us they were closing in 30 mins although their website and everything else I saw said they closed at 9pm but we said okay and rushed in. When asked what background we wanted we had asked to do the one with the car. We were told we would have to wear the flapper girl dresses if we wanted that background. Rudely. I don't really understand why specific outfits can only be worn with specific backgrounds. We are paying for the pictures so why we can't have them the way we want them is beyond me. The fat female photographer with glasses that has a pig face was so incredibly nasty to myself and my friends. Every instruction/direction she gave with a nasty attitude. She made no attempt to hide it. It was beyond clear that she very much so thought we weren't able to afford spending enough money to make it worth her time. The only one from the group that she was remotely kind to was my friends dog. At one point when I wanted to put on my red lipstick because the dress I was wearing was red, she told me in a snotty tone that it didn't matter because the photo was gonna be black and white. Found out we could in fact get color, for a little extra money, which solidified our suspicions that she didn't think we could afford to spend much money. She is also a terrible photographer. She either doesn't know how to pose people at the angles that best flatter them or she intentionally set me up to look my worst. We ended up spending over 150 dollars. 3 different shots, one print of each. One in full color, one in vintage color and one in black and white. And 3 mats. Her attitude changed quite a bit after seeing we had the money to spend but it didn't make up for the terrible experience. She ruined something I've dreamt of doing since I was little. I cried when I got in the car thinking about how awful she had just treated us. We started at 725 and we were back in the car by 749.so it's not like we kept them late. Oh and one of my friends asked where the restroom was at the end and they refused to let her use it. SMH. Said "we don't have one" lol. Yeah okay. Anyway... I look forward to next time we go through this area and can stop at a different photo place where I imagine we will be treated much better. Please avoid this place. These people do not deserve your money. And pig face.... Find another job since you hate what you do or hate people so much. Don't keep ruining peoples memories. read more

Ok, I never review things but I feel like I need to! We went to one place first and they said they weren't taking walk-ins. So we drove down a bit, and man, I'm so happy we did. I was telling my family I felt like it was meant to be. The staff was amazing. They suggested a certain look and when I expressed wanting something different, they gladly changed costumes for me. I have two children, one 3 and the other 8. The photographer was so wonderful with them. She really took time setting up, and was so gentle with them. We did two couples photo shoots, group shots, and kids' photos. She was upfront about costs and helped us greatly when suggesting printing options. They helped put on costumes, with a lady helping females and a male helping males if need be. They made our family feel comfortable and like we were their focus. I highly recommend anyone going here. If it's a little pricier than what you get for down the road, so be it. I rather feel comfortable than rushed and weirded out. If you read any negative reviews, some people have off days, either party, and some people don't mesh well. But for us, we had nothing but an excellent time. read more

we went on a thursday night with no appointment. the staff was so welcoming, patient, and professional. i had an apple watch on which would have ruined the photos but she noticed it so it was never in the picture. you get to pick out your costumes and some accessories. all the photos came out so good. we ended up getting two 11x14 photos with frames for $80. overall such a fun experience and we were on the fence about going because of the reviews but don't listen to them! read more

Lance, Randa, and Alli were all extremely assistive with creating not only a very memorable experience, but a magical photo set. All of the sets are physical, so there aren't printed backgrounds, and all of the physical props are period appropriate which makes for an even more immersive portrait. One of the best! read more

We found the staff here to be pretty terrible to work with. They rushed us through our photos and didn't event try to get our kids to smile. We were forced to pay the sitting fee and felt obligated to buy the photos. While we were there we heard the staff talking badly about other customers. They didn't try to speak quietly and were overtly rude. I would recommend going somewhere else if looking for old photos. read more

We walked in at 8:30pm (closes at 10pm)with a group of 7 kids. The lady immediately was rude and told us they couldn't take our picture they closed at 10pm. She didn't ask what we wanted or who was going to be getting a picture. But then proceeded to tell us that we could come back in the morning. Liars!! No matter what they say the prices are lies!! So at first it seemed really great at $23.95 and we agreed to go ahead and get the pictures done. Then when we checked out we find out that it's five dollars extra for every background. You get two pictures for $23.95 and then on top of that you have to pay five dollars per background. Be aware of the switch and bait! We agreed to $23.95 for two photos and ended up walking out at $43! When talk to the staff at the front counter all they said was "oh well we told you." Well they told us when we were checked out after we agreed to the photo. Don't get me wrong the photo session was awesome Sam is a phenomenal photographer and great with kids. But they do add all the extras and say it's your fault when you check out. Total BULLSHIT!!! Terrible business practice and I hope they get their shit together or Sam finds a better company to work for. I was totally going to give 5 stars until I checked out and was cheated. read more

As many Old Time photo places as there are in the Gatlinburg area I CANT be 100% sure if this was the one we went to or not,... but as theyre all about the same, I'm going to just let people know about pricing... Cause they got us lol Ive wanted this done every time I've been to the Smokies, but have never had the chance until this last trip. We looked around at just about all of them for the best pricing, and found one with $8.95 AND! a Buy One Get One Free Special on the window so we went with this one... HOWEVER!!!!! The $8.95 price is for ONE PERSON... It's $18.95 for two people and yes, it was BYGO, so we got to switch our poses up and got 2 pictures for this price... And while you're doing the photos, they take individual shots... and THIS is where the $8.95 comes in... Cause that's how much the individual shots are to add on. PLUS! the cool framing that (in my opinion) should come with the photos-- are $5 each. So for the 2 we got for the BYGO- there's another $10 for frames. And I did end up buying the individual one of myself, so another $5 frame..... So for 3 pictures... 3 frames... I think I paid around $48-50 bucks. Which... isnt TOO bad considering its a souvenir that lasts a lifetime, and IT WAS WAYYYY TOO MUCH FUN dressing up in the costumes. There are plenty of Old Time photo shops on this street but this place did a great job with our group of 20 gals! They were patient and professional. Had a huge costume selection, and accessories, and never rushed us to get ready. I'm glad we chose this place. The pictures came out great! I highly recommend it! read more

Not good as we thought. Long wait times for Photo Shoot and for getting pictures. Even the prices as compared to others in town are higher.

A little expensive but our photographer, the owner, Sam was super nice. He took some fun shots and a little extra time to do a special photo for baby on the way for my 2 daughters and myself. We ended up paying $150 plus Groupon sitting fee of $13. Got an 8x10 photo with Groupon and a disc. The other staff we spoke with was friendly as well. read more

This was our first time having "Old Time Photos" taken and they turned out fantastic! 4 different types of scenes you could choose from (hillbilly, gangster, etc.) and a huge amount of costumes to browse through. The photographer was super nice and accommodating. We both felt extremely comfortable throughout the entire experience, which was initially my main concern going into it. Prices were higher then others but when we finally got ready it was 8:45pm and this was our only option everything else was closed. Our family was being difficult couldn't decide on a setting and when we finally did we got dressed and changed our mind!! I agree with previous reviews. I wish I read these reviews before I stopped at this business. The two girls were totally disrespectful, and as well did not disclose the true amount of the pictures. I was told if I didn't understand I should have asked. I asked her to repeat what she said to make sure I understood her, which I did. I didn't know I didn't understand. My 7 year old grand daughter was having her pictures taken and the photographer basically said, "smile, look serious, smile, look serious" and snapped pictures. She never tried to make her smile. The photographer gave her a dress to put on, which was crooked on her in the picture, and didn't give her any choices. The pictures were horrible but I bought them anyway because my grandbaby wanted them. Worst experience ever! I would not recommend anyone going to this business. When you work in tourism, or any other business dealing with the public, you should never treat PAYING customers the way these two girls treated me and my family. I wish I knew who the owner is because I would definitely let him or her know. BAD BUSINESS!!!!!!!!! It won't stay open long with these two running it. read more
