Cute little gem of a deli/counter service restaurant! Looks pretty new. Cute decor. My friend and I came in for dinner on a Friday night looking for pizza. She is gluten free and was happy to find a gluten free crust option is available. The pizzas both gluten free and regular dough were both very tasty. The place filled up fast. Came into town for a nice meal while camped at McKelvie National Forest during November rifle season. Ended up finding this place searching online. Glad we did. This place is the bomb!!! Ate there twice in two days. Day 1 I had the Greek Wrap sandwich. Very good! I also had sweet potato chips by Joe's, I believe. They were so good I bought a large bag for later in the dry goods section. Day 2 we stopped in for a pecan cinnamon roll. The only thing I would suggest is opening earlier for the breakfast pastries and breads area. We returned later on Day 2 for a brick oven pizza. We had the special which was cheeseburger pizza. It was superb! Never had pizza with pickles and string potatoes. And I had a sugar cookie to top it off. I also left with several dip mixes, candy, and other pantry items. Our family stopped on a road trip from Eastern SD to Utah and found this very cool place on Yelp. Staff is very friendly and the pizzas were excellent! We also stocked up on cookies - the monster cookies are the best! We drove past it the first time because the sign was a little hard to see. This place is incredible. They serve sandwiches and pizza, all freshly prepared. They were very accommodating of special requests (kids' sized pizza, sandwich that wasn't on the menu), and the food was incredible. The jalapeno popper pizza was one of the best pizzas we have ever eaten. It was also fun to browse the bulk foods while we were waiting and get some snacks and treats for the road. Outstanding. I was visiting Valentine for a week around the total solar eclipse. The Old Mill Deli and bulk foods was recommended. It was great. We had sandwiches made and took them to the wildlife refuge. Sandwiches were fantastic sitting by Hackberry Lake. The hot beef sticks were excellent, so was the chai tea mix. The bulk chocolates looked fantastic - but in a moment of strength I avoided buying them. It was sorely tempting though. Great place for sandwiches, jams, jellies, chocolates, beef sticks and other bulk food. I will visit again when I go back to Valentine. A great place only two blocks off Main Street. read more

We went here for breakfast the day after canoeing the Niobrara. Egg sandwich was excellent. We also shared a pecan roll which was also very good. It was so good, we bought sandwiches to go for lunch for our trip home. Lovely people working here too. read more

We purposely waited for a late lunch just to try this highly anticipated bakery/cafe. So glad we did! The place looks fairly new and clean. Even @ 2pm they still had several tables full. We both had the special ham/Brie/apple on ciabatta. Delicious and filling!! Grabbed a couple cookies, which were good, but not as special as that Sammy! All their breads looked great and we hope to try those cinnamon rolls in the future. Regarding COVID practices, they seemed fairly good but not all staff or patrons wore masks (about 50/50). Restrooms were very clean and single use. Nice staff, too. read more
