Large spicy beef teriyaki bowl
Michelle T.

It really is the best teriyaki in town! The spicy beef teriyaki isn't too spicy. You can also get two fortune cookies for 25 cents. The pickled ginger and carrots are a must. The owners are really nice and service is always amazing.

2 item plate with beef and chicken teriyaki. Get to add your own ginger from the condiments bar.

After all these years, Okazya still hits the spot! This was one of our go-tos in high school and we found ourselves in the area over 20 *COUGH* years later so we had to stop by. The teriyaki chicken and beef are flavorful, the food is still decently priced considering current times and the amount of food you get. Nostalgia and comfort bump up the place to 4 stars for me. Parking is easy; there's a lot but could get filled up during busy times. Service is friendly and helpful. It's fast casual, so you order at the counter and find a seat. Few tables and bar seating. Will definitely be coming back. Worth driving a little further to support a small business than buy from a chain restaurant.

Deluxe Bowl

My bosses love this place and I have been picking up chicken bowls for them at least once a month for the past year or so. I really don't know why it took me so long to try their food! Inside is small with a handful of tables, it's very cozy and has cute decor. It always smells amazing in here! Bowls come in regular, large, and XL sizes - regular is super filling, anything bigger would become two meals for me! I have had their Deluxe Bowl, Salmon Bowl, and miso soup. Deluxe has white rice, delicious, tender, high quality chicken, a great tasting teriyaki sauce with a hint of ginger, steamed veggies, and two pork gyoza. LOVE IT. Salmon is also good, but quite plain, just a piece of salmon on top of rice, with teriyaki on the side. I'm glad I took some chili sauce to go, next time I will ask for some green onions on it as well. Miso soup is super flavorful, not watered down like other places, and is a generous portion, way larger than I was expecting. Perfect to sip on a cold, drizzly day! It's always the same guy working when I visit and he is very friendly. Every order I have called in has been ready in about 10 minutes, even when it's multiple bowls. Prices are really good, $10 - $14 per person depending on what you get. I can't wait to try more of their menu, and i'm so glad my bosses brought Okazya to my attention!

Yummy chicken teriyaki bowl

Just started a new job recently and I was looking for a good lunch spot. Some of my coworkers recommend this place. It's a very welcoming little shop and looks clean inside too. Definitely recommend if you're craving a good chicken teriyaki spot. The food is delicious and the service was great , I'm looking forward to trying more of their menu.

Mixed Tempura

This is for sure a case of dont judge a book by its cover because looks sure are deceiving here! The strip mall that its in is rough. And Okazya is by all means a lil' hole in the wall. But there's something rather charming about it. Nothing fancy about this place, and you can kind of see into the kitchen and its not fancy back there either. But the lady who took my order was so nice. I didnt get her name, but she gave me some genuine recommendations. Nonetheless, I ordered the one thing that I came for...the XL Spicy Tuna Bowl. Also got some mixed tempura. Been hearing about this bowl in one of the buzz groups and had to have it. After a short wait, I got it and took it straight home. I expected a full container of spicy tuna on top of rice, and that is exactly what it was! The spicy tuna was not painfully spicy, it actually tasted slightly sweet to me. But this was a case where my expectations were 100% spot on. Highly recommend giving this place a shot. If youre doing to go, I would also recommend calling ahead.

Chashu bowl and teriyaki plate with veggies
Kathy H.

This place is a local gem! It's a no frills mom & pop shop that cheap, delicious, and filling. I'm also a big fan of their condiment bar where you can load up on soy sauce, hot sauces, pickles, etc. to enhance your food. We got a teriyaki bowl with chicken and beef which was delicious. The teriyaki sauce wasn't overpoweringly salty and the meat was juicy. I also got a chashu bowl which was topped with green onions - soo good if you're not in the mood for teriyaki. We also got 2 fountain drinks - all this was less than $30 for 2 people. As with most mom & pop places, cash is preferred and service was very nice. Order at the register and just pick a place to eat and enjoy your meal. We will definitely come back and check out some of their other specials!

Did they recently change ownership? i went recently and none of the workers looked familiar, and the lady taking my order didn't seem to know the menu very well.

Is there any vegan friendly options?

Yes! On our combo menu, we have combo #10 & 11 offers lightly boiled crunchy veggies and tofu with our fresh teriyaki sauce. Also, looking down the menu we have other vegan items such as, veggie tofu bowl in all sizes, vegetable curry, vegetable… Read more

I didnt know what I wanted so I was looking at different places on the way back the SF Valley. I ended up choosing this place and it was a very good choice. We got there and was seated right away. We ordered our drinks and food. It didnt take long fot us to get our food. We ordered: Jalapeno Poppers -- wasnt spicy at all but it was really packed with spicy tuna, cream cheese, etc. Baked Jen Jen -- this was part of their low carb roll. It was spicy crab and avocado wrapped in baked salmon. It was pretty good. It was just too much crab for my liking. Dynamite Roll -- it had a decent amount on it All that we ordered were flavorful. Something to remember though is to make sure to ask for Wasabi and/or Ginger. They do not automatically serve them when you order rolls because some people just waste them. Makes sense! It is free so ask if you want any. The service was great. I will be back if I am in the area. The price was also comparable to other sushi joint.

Food: I ordered the beef gyugatsu. When you order (on the tablet) it will give you a choice if you want the full set or just the meat only. Of course I had to try the full set. It came with 2 sauces, salad, edamame, radish, rice, and a bowl of miso soup. It was delicious! Meat also came with a little grill for u to cook on and wasabi on the side. My partner ordered the curry pork cutlet. Pork cutlet was a tad bit dry, nothing crazy but the sauces that came with it made it better! It also came with miso soup, salad, radish, edamame, and a bowl of rice. Since my partner ordered the curry cutlet, ofc it came with a bowl of curry and katsu sauce on the side. Both meals were delicious! 8/10 rating for food! Ambiance: cute, clean, nice and small! You order on the tablet. They close around 830pm keep in mind! We came the last hour of closing and there was still a couple of tables eating inside still. We were greeted upon arrival and we didn't need them to tell us how to order as the only thing on the table was the ordering tablet (self-explanatory). We ended up ordering the premium gyu katsu set along with the curry pork cutlet set that comes with rice and sides along with some beer. The drinks and food came out fairly quick and were steaming hot. I like that the curry came on the side so the pork cutlet wouldn't get soggy and you could pour over as much as you want over the cutlets. The veggie sides were a nice touch and complemented the meal well. The gyu katsu didn't taste like Japan to us, but it was still good especially with the wasabi and sweet soy sauce that came with it. If I came back here, I would give the beef tongue a try along with the creamy udon because those also seemed like a favorite for customers. Service here was friendly and we were checked up on multiple times without having to flag someone down.
