We have taken three of their "Morning Walks" with our grandkids and it's a perfect introduction to hiking. Honestly we've had three different ...wonderful.. experiences. It's not strenuous and you're taken back to some private land that you'd not have access to if you just drove up and parked (if you found a parking spot) and hiked back in. We were lucky to have the lovely, fun, and knowledgeable guide named Randolyn ..aka Ran. She was the perfect blend of kind, patient and engaging with the grandkids, and very helpful with us old folks! On the drive on the way home she advised a few newbies to the island where some great places to eat were... they greatly appreciated her ideas! She had the most pleasant demeanor.... :) If you want a fun morning walk, call Hike Maui

Brian was just soo fun, and soo informative. He balanced all our interests absolutely wonderfully, it was just amazing. The kid was thrilled with the his dino costume (Oh my god! the costume, he wore it on the Entire trip except when jumping off the rocks ofcourse), the adult in the other group with all the geological tectonics knowledge that flowed like an uninterrupted volcano from his mouth...non stop, and me with all the native plant life info. The Hala tree amazed me and so did the big red flower- torch ginger, which actually looks like a vibrant staff fit for a king. I would never have learnt about them in detail if not for this trip. All this besides the actual trip to the waterfalls, the encouragement he gave to the other group was astounding (I don't swim myself unfortunately, or the fun would have tripled for me). He supported, guided, advised, and made them have the time of their life with the diving and the swimming. Three cheers to the B.Rex. Hike Maui site itself had useful info for the walk and I brought the water shoes after reading about it on their site, it really worked great out there. Pick up was right on time and the directions were pretty clear, but u could have mentioned near Kahului Park and Ride, I mistook the 8 min drive for 8 min walk, and walked up from my hotel ! Hike Maui arranged for backpacks and that was very useful too. To just it throw it on our shoulders and walk freely. The little snacks were good after the walk. The best part was the passion fruit which was handed out as a parting gift. It was my first time to eat that fruit too. Note: The waterfalls are accessible privately with rental car too. You could explore the area in your own sweet time. But I did notice there were not many signs with specific directions inside the forest. And no labels on the plants. Most places no mobile signals either. That said, you could do it on your own. I cannot say enough about this trip. It is for all ages and a great little Maui to explore comfortably. PS: Hope Brian wins the Halloween costume contest today ( 31st Oct 2025)

I wasn't sure what to expect since they don't have too many reviews.. but we still gave it a shot. Everyone had an AMAZING TIME!! Jason (the owner), is such a patient, kind, and just super chill guy. We arrived quite early since the kids were being inpatient and wanted to get in the water, so we decided to hang out on the beach near the meetup location. My kids began to explore and wanted to try to snorkel on their own with some masks we had purchased the day before. We settled down near a gentleman who we later realized was Jason. Before even realizing that we were part of his next tour, he was kind enough to help my kids and explained that the location they were trying to enter the water through was unsafe as the strong waves could cause them to injure themselves against the high coral. He guided them to a sand path which he explained was much safer. After some conversation, we both realized he was our tour guide! We immediately felt confident that it would be a great experience. Once the tour began, I just can't say enough about how patient Jason and his crew are. They explain everything very throughly and carefully. Jason let the group know that people who felt comfortable would be led out to deeper waters, but if anyone did not feel comfortable, they could stay in the more shallow waters with a guide. My kids decided to go out to deeper waters and saw turtles, fish, sea cucumbers, pencil urchins, and a lot of reef. Jason was super educational about marine life. He also did not have a time limit! I thought I read it wrong, but he confirmed in person that the tour was unlimited and we were free to snorkel until we decided we were done. Other companies I had looked into appeared to have a 2 hour limit. Jason goes above and beyond, and I would definitely recommend him! I was reading through the 1 star reviews because that's just what I do when it doesn't make sense, and I just can't really believe those reviews, especially since they appear to be fake accounts. Give these guys a try, you won't regret it! Thank you again Jason! Our tour with you was the highlight of our trip. My kids and husband will always remember this experience!

The woman on the phone was so helpful and reassuring, she explained that they've taken people out who have never been in the ocean or even a pool. They also honored the Groupon price, so I booked over the phone. What an amazing experience with Jason (who is Gabriel's dad). He was patient, gentle, and full of so much information. He really put me and the rest of the group at ease. Luckily, the two other couples with us weren't swimmers either, so we were all on the same level. Jason brought up many sea creatures for us to hold, and we saw turtles and live coral. Since I don't swim, I never thought I could experience anything like this. It was truly magical, and I'll never forget my first time. The next time I'm in Maui, I will definitely book again. Thank you Jason for a wonderful experience and memories that will stay with me forever.

Bruce and Jill were running the show on the first day we visited and made us feel super welcomed to the gym. They helped get us setup with week long visitor passes and Bruce even bandaged me up when an overhang route gave me a gnarly flapper. What a gem! We only bouldered here but thought the routes were interesting and very fun to try and figure out. They have three separate bouldering sections so there is something for everyone. We came back later in the trip and had another great visit. Hard to imagine coming back to the island and not spending time at Aloha Rock. (Also, there is a coffee truck in the back that has the best coffee on the island. Seriously, don't miss it!)

One of the owners personally greeted us--a kind and friendly gentleman who took the time to introduce the space and give us a helpful rundown of how everything works. It set the tone for what turned out to be a really fun, memorable experience and honestly every staff member we encountered was warm, helpful, and friendly too. A quick tip: *everyone* needs to sign a waiver before entering the gym (even if you're just a bystander), so I'd recommend completing it online ahead of time to save yourself a bit of time when you arrive. Even during the busy grand opening, the gym felt surprisingly spacious. The building is large, open, and thoughtfully designed to accommodate a lot of people without feeling claustrophobic. There are climbing "problems" (routes) for all skill levels and a good variety for a wide range of ages. We had such a great time moving between the different walls and testing new problems. Staff and volunteers were readily available to belay, which allowed us to try the rock climbing routes safely. We used to rock climb at the surf shop in Kahului many, MANY years ago and I'm so glad there's a place to climb again. My son had a blast too. Watching him try something new and gain confidence with each attempt was so fun! We returned a few weeks later and ended up spending hours just bouldering. If you want to belay independently, you'll need to get certified. They offer short classes throughout the day for a small fee, or you can test out if you're already familiar with proper technique and safety protocols. That's definitely on my list for next time. Unfortunately they did away with their fist time kamaaina deal, so it's quite a bit pricey ($39 for a kamaaina day pass)--especially for larger families--and can be cost-prohibitive. However, you can spend hours climbing, even a full day, so it feels "worth it" as I easily spend that amount of money at the arcade in less than an hour. I do hope to see more kamaaina/family friendly deals in the future like they did for Valentine's Day. If you're looking to maximize value without committing to a full membership, the 1 week unlimited pass ($60) is the way to go as you can use it multiple times. All in all, I highly recommend Aloha Rock Gym. It's such a fun, active option to have here on Maui. We'll definitely be back again and again.

The soft play area includes a play structure, play house, tree house & "grassy hill" among other items like cushions & pretend play items. Across the way, the little ones also have access to a popper-style foam ball game which mimics the foam dart arena upstairs. My kids had so much fun, and I appreciated the safe, clean and interactive environment. We will definitely be back!
