I'm giving 4 stars because I'm not a huge fan of their pricing. Otherwise, the food itself and reasonable pricing would've earned it 5 stars. The food is wonderful! But given the area that we live in, it's a bit on the pricey side. (Personally I can't justify $5 for a single slice of peanut butter pie, but that could be just me.) The fish sandwich is lovely! And I absolutely love their garlic parmesan chicken. The only "negative" thing I have to say about the soup beans is that it could use a little more seasoning and maybe some chunks of ham. (My soup beans didn't hit the spot, as it was missing little chunks of ham and could've used salt and pepper at the very least.) I do get their food from time to time, but very seldom due to budget constraints. If they worked on their pricing to be more affordable, I'd be happy to give 5 stars! read more

Great food! A must stop for home cooking and great desserts! We always stop on our way to Burr Oak Lake and Lodge.

Nice place. Very friendly staff on a sleepy Friday lunch. We both had the special, couple iced teas, and shared a homemade blackberry pie. Everything was very tasty and our bill totaled $27. Kudos on the cleanliness of the restaurant and bathrooms. They go the extra effort. If you're in the Amesville area stop by. I'm a fan. read more

I am not from the area but me and my boyfriend came to Burr Oak Cove for camping and found this restaurant on google. It's a cute mom and pop diner and very close to the campground. We came here once for dinner and the service was amazing, our server was Alisha and she was so kind to us and checked back in with us several times to make sure we were okay. The food was amazing and was made very quickly, at a very cheap price you get so much food. We loved it so much we came back for breakfast and the service was just as amazing. Our server was Amanda this morning and she was kind friendly and funny. They treat everyone here like family and I will definitely be coming back next time I go camping at Burr Oak Cove. Definitely recommend to anyone wanting a good home cooked meal and having good conversations with the amazing people that work there. read more

It's been 2 years since I've ordered food from kaslers in Trimble and I've got to say that it was horrible. Their fishtail sandwich is half the size it use to be. Quality of the fish tasted like it came from the Sunday creek. The tartar sauce was thin and runny. The grilled chicken dinner tasted like it was reheated and not fresh. Good food at a reasonable price.. This is one of the places where the locals eat. Lunch was $19 for two which included desert, which was homemade. Breakfast the next day was $12. Great place for a filing breakfast before tackling the trails at the nearby Burr Oak State Park. read more

Went there based on Yelp reviews and once again was disappointed. Other reviewers raved but I found the place mediocre at best. Same old good you find at most country dinners, heavy on salt and starch and grease. We ate there because Burr Oak Lodge had nothing on the menu we wanted. This place has the expected fried shrimp, fried chicken and meatloaf in big, cheap portion but nothing you was so great to inspire someone to clean their plate. The one waitress, was very friendly and worked her tail off trying to serve everyone and the place needs to hire more help because she could not keep up. Too bad because we wanted to try their homemade desserts but did not want to wait another 30 minutes after our meal. Go the expecting cheap decent food but nothing different read more

I stop here for lunch/dinner a few times a year when in the area. This is simple,basic, but very tasty down-home cooking for a very reasonable price. I wouldn't give this resturant a single start, however it made me put a star.I was literally just there and we were sitting there for 15 minutes and NOT ONE PERSON CAME TO GREAT OR ASK US WHAT WE WANTED TO DRINK OR ANYTHING..There was people that were there before us and hadn't been waited on either. However, there was people that walked in 10 minutes after us amd they were greated in the first minute they were there and their orders where taken and everything. So i guess the people that sit in the back isn't worth your time. Not to mention I had to clean my own table!! And a customer in front of us took it upon herself to busts some tables becuase the place was so messy. If someone cant run a floor by themselves you should hire some other people to help! We ended up having to go to Tammy's Country Kitchen clear in Nelsonville to eat.. where you actually get waited on and greated when you walk in and sit down. read more
