I've been reading reviews since they opened and though some were negative, it takes a new establishment to work out the cinks of menu, and new employees. I planned on going once they had been open a month or two and today was the day! I was hesitate at first since it was Mother's Day and actually drove past it only to turn around and go back. I am glad I did! Teresa, our server, did a fantastic job making sure to give us time to look at menu, ask questions and keeping our glasses full. I ordered the shrimp which were delicious. They were fried perfectly and there were 12 in the order. The onion rings, fried okra and hush puppies were equally delicious. My Honey ordered the fried cod, which he liked, but he liked my shrimp better. His fries have a tasty coating and he said his mac n cheese was good. We also ordered the fried mushrooms which were very good. All of our food was super hot when served, and I think the prices were very fair. We would most definitely go back. Our entire time in the restaurant was about an hour and five minutes. That was acceptable since it was Mother's Day, we needed time to look over menu, we had an appetizer, eat our meal and pay the bill. Don't let a past review keep you from going. Off the Hook worth your Bite! Newly opened and going strong. Varied menu offering Seafood, Steaks and Chicken. Currently only soft drinks, coffee, tea but will change when licensing obtained. Ordered the Whole Snapper with Caesar Salad and Onion Rings as sides. Also the Shrimp Entree with sides of House Salad and Onion Rings. Both entrees and all sides were well prepared and delicious. We were really rooting for this place. There is a shortage of restaurants in the area so we were excited to get abs try something new. Unfortunately, the experience fell very short. Margarita was not good. We only tasted watered down margarita mix. The fried red snapper was very bad. This is supposed to be one of the most mild tasting fish you can get, but my husband shared it was the most fishy tasting fish he's ever had. He said it was truly awful and was disappointed. Food aside, there is simply no excuse for the delayed service. In total, there were 5 tables, including ours with 3 servers on duty. The server was MIA while the other two servers seemed very attentive to their tables. Our server never came back to check on us after food delivery until it was time for the check. Our server was great.... Food Horrible. They were out of oysters, mussels, calamari, and grits at 8pm on a Friday. The seafood boil was less than room temperature, potatoes missing from bags, crawfish were not cleaned properly, and everything had minimal flavor. 1 small piece of catfish for 16.99 is insane and my husband ordered the add on of 12 shrimp which we didn't receive until he was almost done with his meal and only received 10. The waitress advised the first batch of shrimp were over cooked which is why it took so long and we overheard her telling the manger that we were short on shrimp but they never brought them out. Our waitress Deja was very nice and we ordered the gator tail which was good but when it comes bad is where I will begin we ordered the shrimp 2 side combo we asked for grilled blackened the waitress went to put our order in and she asked the partners wife blonde hair, lady who is part owner about our order and she came back and said sorry there is no substituting and that you cannot get grilled blackened shrimp at a seafood place and this is no where on the menu saying that. But what got me is because of cooking preference the partner didn't even try to come over and do anything at all it was you get what you get and that's all not very professional for just not opening it up and let customers walk out the door read more

Finally! A really great casual seafood restaurant in Middleburg! We arrived a little after 5pm on a busy Friday night. We waited about 50 minutes to get a table for four. Our waitress, Theresa, was a lot of fun! She answered all our questions with a smile. We all ordered cod with fries. We got two portions of lightly battered fried cod. It was seasoned and cooked to perfection. The fries were just the way we like. We never waited long for anything once we sat down. The only thing that could've used some work were the hush puppies. We got a crab and shrimp boil and there off the hook spice level. It's just crystals hot sauce and absolutely no seasoning. It wasn't hot or spicy and had no flavor. The food was beyond terrible. Ordered a crab cake expecting to get get cakes plural but got one single patty that the size of a small mcdonald's cheeseburger and it costed 12.99. Father ordered a ribeye with mashed potatoes and the mashed potatoes were completely frozen they came back microwaved and expected that to be better. The service was at least decent but i don't recommend the food at all. Wife also ordered chicken strips that tasted like fish and smelled like it because they used the same oil as the fish. The salads nobody could eat because they were beyond edible. Myself ordered catfish and it was pretty bland to say the least usually when you order a filet it comes with 2 or 3 strips this was one single fat strip that tasted terrible not even the lemon helped and also the ketchup they use was absolutely gross as well how did this buisness even open is beyond me. Servers and hostesses were really nice. We were told there would be a 30 minute wait but it ended up being close to an hour. I did ask the hostess if the wait couldbe very long after we were seated, and she responded that she had no idea. That should've been a red flag. Once seated, we ordered a shrimp cocktail appetizer and dinner. After waiting nearly an hour for the meal, I cancelled the appetizer but they brought it anyway when the food finally came out. The shrimp tasted like it was spoiled so we didn't eat it. I realize they are new and I would usually give a restaurant grace but overall it was a disorganized train wreck. We did not receive a check; the server took payment electronically so I don't know if they removed the shrimp from the bill and was too tired after 2+ hours to deal with it. The food was fair at best. Again, servers and hostesses were trying their best and were great. I hope they work through the issues. read more
