The first time you head to Odyssey Beerwerks, there is a good chance you will be convinced you are going the wrong way. But fear not! Tucked in the corner of this strange, suburban, industrial complex lives one of the best new breweries in Colorado -- and that's saying something. The space is open and comfortable, the staff are friendly, and the beer is GREAT. There are a lot of board games and playing cards up for grabs, which is also pretty great. As for the beer, for a long time, Breckenridge Vanilla Porter was my go-to dark. Then I discovered Dry Dock's Vanilla Porter, and I only ever went back to Breck when it was the only sweet and dark option. But then I went to Odyssey and discovered the Psycho Penguin Vanilla Porter. Ho-lee-hell, it is delicious. For my tongue, it beats the others down with a vengeance. And it is now available in cans! This place is a bit difficult to find in an unassuming industrial area, but their space is really inviting and comfortable to hang out at. Their patio is roomy and a food truck pulls right up to the side so that you can conveniently order some snacks. The majority of the beer here didn't stand out to me as anything special except for the milk stout. I think the Odyssey milk stout gives the Lefthand milk stout a serious run for its money. If you dig the Odyssey beer, you can join their club which gives numerous benefits and potential freebies. This is a hidden gem. Low key brewery filled with tasty beers, good company, and different flavors of fun every night. It might be one of the least pretentious breweries in the Denver area, which is amazing because their beers are spot on. My husband and I went in last Saturday and this brewery is moving into the top 10 for sure! We have had some of their beer in cans and moved to the area a year ago so haven't had a chance to explore much with covid. We had several of their specialty beers and each of them as great as the one before or better! Their barley wine is something special. Their staff was wonderful, they cleaned off a lower table for us, as I recently had surgery and couldn't sit at their already cleaned high top table which is what they had offered us first. Covid rules were all more than reasonable and felt safe being there. We will certainly be returning and soon! read more

Great little spot tucked away in Arvada. The taproom is excellent, spacious and comfortable. Tried 3 beers, the stout, vanilla porter, and ghost rider pale ale. The vanilla porter was amazing, so freaking good, really outshines Breck Brew's vanilla porter. Took home a growler of the pale ale as well. prices are right on, growlers are either $12 (pale ale, IPA...) or $19 (scottish ale, porter...). The had Bubba Dukes BBQ food cart out front as well which really topped everything off great. One of my favorite breweries in the Denver area! The Psycho Penguin Vanilla Porter is awesome... even better than Breckenridge's Vanilla Porter. I love their Wednesday night discovery beers... really fun to try new combinations! The atmosphere is good, very mellow and laid back. Even though it's sort of in an industrial area, the patio is very nice and has a good feel. I also like the food trucks that are usually there for dinner. Warning - this place is in a really weird location. They know that and they try to make it clear on their website, but it's pretty tricky to find. It's basically in the back of an office park, and not really visible from the road. I imagine this is a good and bad thing for them, bad because it's hard to find, but good because they obviously have the clientele of the office park at their fingertips. I was in for happy hour on a Wednesday, and had a great time. The tap room is well-organized, and even though there was live music that night, it still wasn't too loud to chat with my friend. The beers were tasty (get the Red!) and the staff friendly. If I find myself up this way again, I'll definitely be stopping by now that I know where it is. read more

I've been coming here for about one and a half years. Their standards are always good. But I do like their seasonal and specialty brews. I big fan of their IPA series. Always something tasty. Once they had a Bacon Porter I think. It was so good. I enjoy coming here it's a fun place very relaxed. I had called ahead to see if Odyssey could accommodate 15 people and the server said yes and she would reserve a few tables for the time we would come in. When I arrived with my group, there were no seats open. The server told me she had given them away to another group that had come in an hour earlier. I expressed confusion at how she would have mistaken that group for mine since it was a whole hour earlier, and she simply said "Sorry" and immediately turned her back on me to serve someone else. My group ended up going nearby to Someplace Else Brewery, which accommodated us on short notice, had fantastic service and beer, and a super friendly owner. read more

I stepped into Odyssey Beerwerks amid the swing of their opening day and found the place pretty hopping. It's an attractive, well-thought out space with some seriously nice merchandise. Someone knows what they're doing, design-wise. I tried the six beers on tap and my favourite was easily the Vanilla Porter. I didn't expect to like it, as most I've had taste more like vanilla extract than porter, but theirs was really well-balanced and delicate. However, the rest of the beers on tap had a sameness to them, like they were variations on the same mild beer. Very drinkable, but not anything that would keep bringing me in the door. Also, the sound system was downright oppressive for the cavernous room they have and I was unable to hold a conversation without yelling across the table. Hopefully, that's been a bit tweaked since opening day. That said, I'm glad to see another brewery in the North metro area. I'll probably swing by when things are a little more settled, to see how it measures up to opening day. read more

Only found the place by following another vehicle in, but well worth the hunt. My vanilla porter was smooth and tasty. My boyfriend says his IPA has attitude. That's a good thing. Summary: Good place for mature brews, good food truck rotation, interesting but hard to find to the new customer with a gps Long version: Odyssey is a pretty fun place in Arvada, good location (sheridan and highway 36 close by) but a bit tricky to find but don't give up it's worth the slow crawl around corners. I had the flight of 6 amazing brews, some different and some the same old taste as in Boulder, Longmont and Ft. Collins. Yes, I'm going there, there is a point and time where you taste enough that you can tell the closeness to some breweries. The Lager and pale ale were great (highly recommended), the lager was very interesting not only in color but in taste and aroma (a new touch of creativity and dare I say smoothness), the ale had a nice kick (a taste the began with the touch of the tongue and ended with the crisp kick ales have down to the last drop). The IPA was good but not to my taste and the porter had a nice body and maturity in balance/flavor. I wasn't a fan of their stout and the schwarz... , I was not ready for their intensity and boldness so I hope to drop by again and give them another chance with a new combination in my flight. We had some frites played some games, good times. So aside from being hard to find, this place is worth the effort because it has a fighting spirit that it's sometimes hard to find in so many micro breweries popping up in our neighborhoods. I love their creativity and friendly atmosphere. So kudos to Odyssey for trying to stand out, I think it's an up and coming micro brewery. I spoke with the brewmaster who was present and he explained his brews with good detail making it easy to make my flight, I enjoyed the experience. The board games add a sense of coziness in your stay, good atmosphere and good vibes. I hope to return in a near future when their new seasonals come out. Will update review once I visit them again. I came here after a meetup group and I honestly never would have found the location if not for the event. The beer selection is pretty solid. They have a wide range of beer styles, so there is more than likely something to please everyone. I had the Eye of Ra Ale and Ghost Drifter Pale Ale, and my husband had one of their IPAs. We came in to try the Fluffy Pumpkin on tap. We had bought some cans and were a huge fan of the beer. When we got there the first thing I noticed was how nice the tap room was. It was very open with a small bar in the back. They had a good number of tables and board games. I went up and ordered and the bartenders were very nice. It was a pretty slow day and there were maybe five people there including myself. I haven't tried too many of their beers, just the Fluffy Pumpkin and the Peanut Butter Penguin. Both were pretty decent but the Fluffy Pumpkin definitely became one of my favorite pumpkin beers. Overall it was a good experience, unfortunately it takes a while to get there from where I'm at in Aurora, so we probably won't come back too often. read more

I always have a pale ale so I know this brew very well. Ghost Writer pale ale is an excellent brew, very fresh, no off flavors and not over hopped. The Hefe my date had was also good, light, cloudy, and with the appropriate banana flavor. I look forward to trying their other brews and based on these two expect them to be as thoughtfully made. Wow this place has great beer. Great atmosphere, excellent amounts of parking, and even board games. I've even attended trivia night here. A friend and I decided to split a full flight recently. It was a great experience and we loved a lot of them. My favorite was the wet hop. Unfortunately, the order they were placed on the flight, was not the order they wrote on our cards, so we had to guess which ones were which. I've also come here with my college alumni association, under the pretenses that we would get a tour. The 20 of us were told that the person who was going to hook us up with that had to leave early, so we couldn't have a tour. There wasn't enough help for someone to leave the bar for a few minutes and talk to us and make it worth it for us to have organized an event there, coming from all over Colorado, and giving them plenty of extra business. Nice little brewery in a very unassuming location. I made the Drive from Aurora and was happy I did. Food Trucks sit outside which is nice. Nice little patio as well to sit outside on.The beers are reasonably priced. Only Drawback is they didnt have the Football on. They were showing Golf. Otherwise we would of stayed longer. This place is one of my favorite brew houses in Denver. They have a pretty steady variety of beers and so far can please just about anyone that I've taken there. It gets a bit toasty inside in the summer - so dress cool if it's over 85 degrees as they are an open air facility, but in the heat it still stays kinda warm. There is parking lot, but some of the neighbors don't like it if you park on there side, (just a heads up) So be courteous to the other business as we rely on their kindness for continued parking options. Other than that my only complaint - AND IT'S A BIG ONE - is that the brewer only made one batch of "Mango Shandy". Didn't he know that it would be my favorite and I would like to get some more. I think at this point I have been to enough breweries/tap rooms that I know what I like and don't like. I like a wide variety of beers. I like delicious beers no matter what type. I like a chill vibe. I especially like good music. I definitely like friendly and helpful beertenders. Does Odyssey have all of these things? You bet your sweet ass! They also have a great location, although possibly hard to find. Our navigation took us in the wrong direction. It is North of Ralston Ave tucked back in the industrial park. There is parking back there but I can see how it could fill up when they were busy. The brewery/tap room has a small bar and a bunch of varied seating, high and low. They have a large stack of board games and in the corner they have a hook and ring game. I had the Ghost Drifter Pale Ale. It was really good. I also got one of their special releases, the Lucky 777s. This was my favorite. My hubby got the 5535 IPA and the Oh Snap winter ale. He enjoyed both. We both agreed we would love to come back here and check it out again. They have food trucks at various times and you are also welcome to bring your own food in at anytime. They have a small patio out front and while we were there two dogs were inside. They were well behaved and controlled by their owners so I had no issue. They do have canning distribution as that was the reason we originally found them. My husband picked up some of their Psycho penguin at our local liquor store. I highly recommend you seek them out either at the brewery or ask at your local beer store! read more
