I just finished my last group class with Chris and am very happy with his teaching and my progress!…read more I decided this summer to learn guitar. I played clarinet (poorly) and a little piano in HS so I knew the basics of music, but had never touched a guitar. On the first night, my fingers hurt and I was sure this wasn't going to work. But Chris and Matt took it slow and now, after 3 months, I know 14 chords and can play a dozen recognizable songs! Granted, no one wants to sit and listen to me play yet, but I am so much farther than I thought possible! I plan to take it to the next level with Chris. And when my daughter is ready, I think we will start here here as well.

My two kids have been taking piano lessons with Toby since they were very young. She is a calm and…read morekind teacher with a laid-back approach to teaching, that suits my kids' personalities perfectly. Toby is always flexible with scheduling, willing to accommodate any unexpected changes. After each lessons, she provides helpful weekly practice instructions for the kids to follow. She also gives out practice prizes to encourage them. We regularly attend recitals with all of Toby's students, both young and adults. She offers a variety of music for the kids to choose from and is a talented musician who composes and performs. I appreciate that Toby goes above and beyond by teaching my kids how to compose using Garage Band and letting them try out her synthesizer when they want to explore beyond just playing the piano.

I was aware of where she teaches as she had specifically told me, "I teach piano out of my home".

It's been about 6 months since we found Nina as the piano teacher for our 5 year old daughter JW,…read moreand we have been very happy to have Nina with us. Needless to say, not only is she very professional at piano, but also as most important is that she is very patient and nice and knows well how to encourage and teach our kid. Our daughter likes Nina a lot and she is really making progress and she will have a recital for the holiday celebration soon with Nina co-playing. Looking at the music journey where we started at 0 and now my kid can play lovely and quite complicated songs, it's just amazing, we hope with Nina the journey will bring us to further exciting milestones! Looking forward to the recital! Thanks Nina!

My 5 year old daughter has been taking lessons with Nina for the past year and loves it. Now, she…read morelooks forward to it every week. I can still remember that she was nervous in her first lesson with Nina. So I quietly told Nina before the class that she was a big Disney fan, and she blew her away by surprising her with Disney music. My littler girl was super excited and telling me how much she wanted to learn piano with Nina in the car on our way home. That's the time my little girl start liking piano. Nina is not only a teacher who always makes her lessons interesting, but also a good mentor who taught my little girl right learning attitude toward music, or any other things she learns in school. My little girl and Nina became friends both in lessons and after lessons. Additionally, Nina is very professional, having both her Bachelor's and Master's degree from top music schools in Piano major. We can make sure that my daughter's talent won't be ruined by those piano teachers who didn't have much professional training before and just teach for money ending up destroying children's potential piano careers. We are so blessed that we met Nina and have her to be my little girl's piano teacher. Our family are obviously huge fans of Nina's piano studio, and my 5 yr-old and I would both recommend her lessons to anybody who wants to take fun yet professional piano lessons.

It has never been a boring class. I just signed up next session for my kid, because he really enjoys piano classes here. This is definitely a place he wants to go.

Her technique of teaching, her patience, and skill was excellent. Highly recommend. My daughter with regular practice completed her scales and other requirements in a short frame of time. She has a private studio, with road side parking and is quite interested in having the student learn and benefit from practising everyday. Homework is given and is reviewed the next class. Payment details and other details are given at the time of registration. Highly qualified teacher with lots of experience if your looking for a piano teacher. My youngest daughter has been taking lessons with Amanda for 2 years now and I am amazed at how…read moremuch she has learned in that time. She is already on Book 4 of the Simply Music program and loves playing! The method gets students playing right away which not only gets them excited and interested, but builds their confidence and a love for playing. Having gone through the Suzuki method for violin with my oldest daughter I can tell you the difference is stark. While I love classical music, it just isn't as engaging for most children. Simply music teaches jaunty, fun little folk and blues pieces that the kids enjoy listening to and playing. The other difference is in the way Amanda teaches. She engaged with her students, even the little ones, in a way that makes them feel like equals. She impresses on them a sense of personal responsibility that gets them to take ownership of their musical journey. We could not be happier!

My daughter is still enjoying piano lessons with Amanda using the Simply Music program, which I had…read morenever heard of until I met Amanda. It is a non-traditional starting point into playing the piano where you start playing songs right away through pattern recognition and following along by watching and listening. Technique, like reading notes and perfecting rhythm, comes a little later. Building enjoyment and confidence in piano-playing comes first. Two years into lessons and getting my daughter to practice everyday (or almost everyday) still takes some external motivation from me, but for my 11 year old, there's no getting around that. I know there's no way she would've stuck it out this long had we started lessons the way I did when I was a kid, with scales, and memorizing notes. Amanda is a combination of demanding and understanding, and holds my daughter accountable for her own piano education (with me as "coach"). She makes corrections in a positive manner. My daughter loves that Amanda is smiley, has a good sense of humor and allows her to be herself.
