If you're thinking about a saltwater aquarium, do yourself a favor and go to this store…read more My kids convinced me to repurpose our old fresh water aquarium to salt. We went to a bunch of stores in the process. Some were very good and some were not quite so good. We passed by this one a few times even though it's literally down the street from us because it was kind of non-descript on the outside. BIG mistake. Do not judge a book by its cover! This place is AMAZING. The owner (?) is remarkably knowledgeable and helpful and is not judgmental about us newbies, like some other places we went to. He actually engages with my kids every time we go and educates them and actually gives them simple assignments to look up or do before they come back. This guy clearly knows and loves what he does. He has stayed open after hours for my kid and has even taken cell phone calls from my kid to help with the setup/ maintenance of the tank, fishes and corals. Earned himself customers for life. This is an example of what ALL businesses should strive to be. Did I mention we love this place?

So In the past I've had 3 salt water fish tanks for tranquility value. The beauty of a saltwater…read moretank is unimaginable as what's inside the tank takes a life of its own. Anyone who's ever owned a fish tank with saltwater fish and coral knows what I mean. Ive driven by this place a million times and found a few minutes of my busy day to pop in. To my surprise the store was exactly what I was looking for. The store is set up with several fish tanks and beautiful coral which is all for sale. The corals are well-established and look very healthy. The fish are separated in small areas, in little containers. Though I'd like them to be in larger tanks I guess this is the way they do things here given that the Fish are sold quite quickly. In the past I've always bought my salt water and fresh water to replenish the fish tank when it gets low, as water evaporates. The fact that they offer this feature comes quite in handy when you don't have to mix up saltwater you could just simply buy it and add to your tank. The ladies who work at the store were very welcoming. I was able to browse the store and look at all the fish and corals in peace and they would periodically check in on me, which I thought was great customer service. I'm still on the fence as to whether I want to set up a saltwater tank given my time constraints. However the outcome of having a tank is pretty darn great. Tanks offer tranquility, also a form of meditation and visually are just beautiful to look at. People tend to believe that maintaining a saltwater tank takes a lot of effort and work however it really does not take much, the tank itself, just like the ocean cares for itself. You simply just have to add freshwater once the water drops low. With my history of saltwater ownership the prices at this shop were very reasonable compared to what I've seen in the past. If and when I decide to set up a saltwater fish tank this shall be the place I come to purchase all of my little fish friends. Not to mention I really love the location of this shop. It's right next to a Irish pub so if I really need decide what to do I think I'll go to the pub first have a couple and then decide, ....that way my mind is muzzy ;)... Probably not the best idea when making a decision-but it is quite funny.

He took the time to not only help me with my purchases, but also to teach me. I've been an aquarist for over a decade, and he is the very first local fish store staff member to ever explain the differences between male and female emerald crabs and how they interact in reef tanks. That kind of passion and willingness to educate is rare, and it made my experience unforgettable. Prices are fantastic, and the livestock is healthy and thriving. I picked up a diamond goby and a peppermint shrimp... both in great condition. I'll be back later this week to add some coral to my tank. On top of all that, the display tanks are stunning and inspiring. 10/10 experience across the board. I highly recommend Aquarium Kingdom, especially if you're lucky enough to be helped by Moises!
