This review is long overdue, but I can't say enough about how much we love this practice!…read moreDr. Mike, Dr. Bayless, and Ashley are truly top-notch providers and even better individuals. As a team, they have been an incredible support system for my children. They are a vital part of my "village," helping me make informed decisions about my kids' well-being without ever making me feel judged or unheard. Because they are parents themselves, they truly understand the anxiety that comes when a child is ill. Being a small practice, they are incredibly approachable; you never feel like just a number, but rather like family. Thank you for taking such wonderful care of the most precious little humans in my life!

Since my daughter was a toddler, she was always a strong, independent, and decisive little girl that always new exactly what she wanted and told you what was on her mind, but was also the sweetest and loving little girl who would shower us with love and constantly tell us how much she loved us. About a year and a half ago, my daughter had a Radical and Immediate shift in her personality (over night). All of a sudden, she couldnt make any decisions (couldn't express what she wanted to eat, what she wanted to play, etc...). She would literally be frozen when trying to make a decision. It was so bad, that for 1 1/2 yrs, she couldnt even tell us that she loved us, because she couldnt make a decision as to what "love" meant, and if she was feeling it. Our original Pediatrician first told us it was just a "phase", which I disagreed, but decided to trust the Dr's opinion over my gut. They didnt run any test, just told us she'll get over it. After 9 months, we brought her back, and again, and he then told us that he thinks it could be PANDA'S (a autoimmune neurological disorder), which absolutely terrified my wife and I. Mind you, he didnt run any test. Instead, he just wanted to prescribe our 6 yr old SSRI's. I honestly couldnt believe that his professional opinion was to give my freaking 6 year old SSRI's!!!. I event told him, this sounds like you are just wanting to treat the symptom's, as oppose to treating the underlining problem. Needless to say, that was the last time we went to that Dr. After seeing multiple Doctor's, Psychiatrist, and Therapist, they ALL wanted to give my daughter SSRI's. THAAANK GOD we finally found Dr. Mike. When we first saw him, he genuinely cared for our daughter. Before even considering prescribing our daughter any medication, he decided to do his due diligence, and ran Blood Test, Parasyte Test, and Heavy Metals Test. It turned out, that our poor little girl had Mold Exposure, Heavy Metal Exposure, and a Parasyte infection scaled on a 9 out of 10 of severity. Her immune system and gut biome was 'redlined" and overwhelmed. He immediately provided a prescription for the Parasyte, and gave us a bunch of vitamin supplements, and put us on a restrictive diet to get her healthy again. NO JOKE, within a couple of months, she had an immediate shift back to her original, loving, decisive self. Not to mention, it brought tears to my eyes hearing my daughter tell me she "loves me" again. As a parent, its your responsibility to protect your children. That includes protecting them from other people's negligence. If it wasn't for Dr. Mike, my daughter would still be going through a nightmare, and I cant begin to imagine how much worse it could have gotten. Our only regret, is that we didn't find Dr. Mike sooner, and save our daughter from a year and half of H*ll. Dr. Mike mentioned that he would be seeing adults soon. As soon as he does, I'm going to make him my primary. I am forever in his debt. I just hope he knows how grateful I am to him.

Coastal Kids Ladera is a fantastic facility with great receptionists, nurses and doctors. We have…read morelanded on Dr. Gordon after our previous pediatrician had moved and have been pleased with the experience thus far. When you walk up to their office you can see they have separate well and sick entrances to minimize illnesses spreading, additionally the lobby is spacious and has nice bright colors. The receptionists process us immediately upon entering the facility, the nurses are very thorough with their pre-examination and are engaged at getting to the bottom of any issues they can address and the doctors visit is always incredibly thorough and they never make you feel rushed - and as parents of young (and sometimes sick) kids, no parent ever wants to feel rushed. The only thing that kept them from recieving 5 stars is that when they conducted an eye test on our son, when the results came back they recommended a HORRIBLE kids eye doctor who had bad reviews to begin with. We went to the eye doctor out of trust that Coastal Kids had verified this was a quality eye doctor and unfortunately it was one of the worst medical office experiences we have ever had. They second office they recommended was MUCH better. I simply suggest that they do a better job of vetting the offices that they recommend to clients.

For a doctor's office, this place is very unsanitary. They have an entrance for "well" and "sick"…read morewhich is a total joke and completely useless and the front desk staff just mixes up all the supplies, pens, writing boards for both sides and things aren't sanitized in between. I asked about using items from the well side as we weren't sick but they didn't care or accommodate this request. They front desk staff isn't helpful or kind. I guess this has been noted on other reviews for this place. We used to like our doctor, but dislike the front desk staff. We have been coming here for years, and the front desk staff has never been very good or helpful. Also, they will charge you for every little thing. We finally left this place do to ridiculous fees then they proceeded to claim That they would not release my kids medical records without us paying. Stay away. This place is the worst!

She wasn't rigid or just stuck to one kind of medicine like many doctors who push certain ones only because that's what they have always done. I highly recommend Dr. Peng. She is a very kind person and excellent doctor. Update: She just got a new office and it's absolutely gorgeous!!!!

Honestly, it might be better not to trust them. When my…read morechild entered the examination room, Dr. Peng immediately said my son showed signs of autism and recommended an EEG, genetic testing, and blood tests. At the time, I was worried about my son's development and thought I should follow their instructions, but I also felt that something wasn't right. The only test we could do right away was the blood test, so we went to the lab. However, the lab told us that there were too many orders and that the amount of blood a child can safely provide wasn't enough to run all the tests. After waiting for two hours, they couldn't perform the tests. When I contacted the clinic to confirm the test orders, they insisted everything was correct. This happened twice. Because of the stressful interactions and my growing concerns about their reliability, I went to two other clinics and explained the situation. Both told me that my son is not autistic and that he does not need an EEG or genetic testing. They explained that EEGs are usually done when there are symptoms like muscle twitching, but my son has never shown anything like that. Despite this, Dr. Peng recommended expensive and unnecessary tests, and I almost ended up wasting money, time, and exposing my child to unnecessary procedures. Even if you are worried about your child's development, I think it's best to avoid this clinic.

Dr. Jones personally said she could squeeze us in the next day specifically due to the concern -- but when we arrived, she dismissed the issue almost immediately. Despite our midwife and even we as parents being able to clearly hear the irregularity through a stethoscope and see it on a pulse ox screen, Dr. Jones insisted that no one could hear (not diagnose but HEAR) an arrhythmia without an EKG. She barely listened for a few seconds and said she couldn't hear anything. Dr. Jones refused to take our concern seriously and ultimately was really rude and arrogant in how she talked to us even though we were understandably concerned and emotional about the situation with our newborn. This was incredibly upsetting, as it was the entire reason for our visit and the only reason we scheduled with her in the first place. Unfortunately, the rest of the visit was equally disappointing. No one greeted us when we arrived, even though Dr. Jones and the receptionist were both sitting at the front desk and appeared unoccupied. We were then kept waiting for 30 minutes past our appointment time. When she finally saw us, she didn't introduce herself, made dismissive and rude remarks about our choices for basic medical decisions, and generally lacked warmth or professionalism. Their billing system is another major issue as other reviewers have emphasized -- they didn't take our copay at the time of the visit, and we still haven't received a bill weeks later. They also communicate using a Gmail address, which is not HIPAA-compliant, and fail to practice informed consent in any meaningful way. For comparison, our usual pediatrician and their team are incredibly warm, respectful, and professional. They greet us every time, take our concerns seriously, and offer comfortable seating (something that sounds small but really matters when you've just given birth!) and nursing accommodations. The experience with Dr. Jones and this office could not have been more different. We won't be returning.

She is not empathetic towards her patients at all. I have needed to come in for several reason for two of my children. She did not help either one of them and she also repeatedly missed that my son had problems with his vision. I would highly recommend seeing a pediatrician who cares more deeply about their patients and their needs. She seems like a very check the box person who is unable to emotionally connect with her patients and their family's.
