I have a hard time finding glasses for my small face. They never seem to look right. I spent hours looking at different locations, but this was the only place where I managed to find glasses that fit my face perfectly. The guy at the store was really patient and didn't look annoyed when nothing fit. Eventually, we found the Jean Lafont glasses that I wear to this day (about 4 years or so). I wish I could rate this optical store with more than five stars, they truly deserve it! They stated that their goal is to make customers happy and they really "walk an extra mile" to achieve it. I have complicated vision problems, had multiple eye surgeries, and it is hard to fit a proper eyeglasses prescription for my situation. Doctor in this office spend a lot of time during several visits and trials to get me a prescription for a pair of glasses. He was very patient and knowledgeable, put an extra effort to select my prescription, answered all my questions, and finally invited me to call and come again to get my opinion about my new glasses or possibly make some changes. Store manager Leo went above and beyond making multiple phone calls to my insurance office getting info on eyeglasses returns and exchanges, pricing, coverage options, etc. He was willing to personally answer all my calls and discuss my vision correction needs. Front desk ladies are very welcoming, polite, and helpful. My cousin and his wife from Israel made several pairs of eyeglasses and sunglasses with complicated prescriptions at this store, the process required several adjustments and replacements, shipping glasses back and forths. Leo was very accommodating, he worked very patiently and diligently with these people, in the end he "made" another pair of very happy customers. My daughter got contact lenses in this store, Leo was willing to give her multiple free trial lenses to let her select the best fit. When she needed designer sunglasses, right out of the door Leo offered price for exactly same glasses twice lower than we were able to negotiate at another well known local optical store. All in all, this is the place where I would go for all my vision correction needs and without hesitation I recommend this store to all my friends and relatives. I made my purchase for just under $400.00, the same everything! How can this be beat? No one could. My Eye Doctor in Austin Texas. messed up and put the wrong calculations on my script. When I received my glasses they looked great and my eyes were blurred. I went back to my Eye Doctor and he made the correction on a new script. I called "CoolFrames.com" and they told me to send the glasses back with a $10.00 check. They were quick to replace my eye glass and get them out to me in a few days. I have such mixed feeling about this place. When I first started going here it was great, not much business so everything was done one time. Now days customer service is going downhill. They've mixed up my insurance info, given me the wrong prescription contacts, sometimes they don't even return your calls, forget about your order, I wait for a long long time to get anyone's attention. In the end it gets fixed but its such a hassle. They are understaffed for the amount of work they get, and often hire unqualified employes who are not sure what they are doing. Make up your own mind. They do have a lot of mix ups. read more

What a great experience. We have been going to another doctor for 8 years. Because of the lack of selection of glasses at our current doctor we had to go look elsewhere. I found great reviews on Facebook for Ocean Eyes Optical and decided to try them out (plus they had weekend hours!). Customer service superb. Selection unlike any other (my husband ended up getting two pair because he loved the styles so much). They didn't even push any of the sales, it was all by his own choice. Very honest and reliable. At the end they even refunded us some money because our insurance was able to cover more, which came as a nice pleasant bonus. Glasses have warranty, and I am sure we can come back anytime with issues. We were so happy that we even scheduled an exam for contacts. As loyal as I am to the other doctor, i think we are going to switch to this place, you just don't get this type of care and service in Brooklyn :). read more

My husband ordered glasses from here after seeing their low prices online, and the glasses are fine but he's had to make multiple trips. He got the online price at the store for an expensive pair of glasses ($300 instead of $600), but also was able to have them help him fit the glasses. He went in to pick them up, and they had the wrong length temple piece, so he had to come back the following week. A short time later, the glasses are bent inwards at the center, and he has to go in yet again to have them adjusted. read more

I would have automatically gone into Manhattan for new glasses, but when my glasses broke (babies love playing with glasses...) the reviews on Yelp convinced me to try Ocean Eyes and I'm really glad I did. My insurance coverage was a joke, but they made a great pair of glasses affordable. Normally I can't even find frames that I like without browsing stores for months, so it says a lot about their small but extremely well curated collection, that I found a pair I love. Angela was great to work with, knew her stuff, and was persuasive without being pushy at all. I left with my old frames glued together as a stop gap, a free pair of high quality 2 week contacts as back-up, and two frame options I liked. I called back the next day with my choice, and given the dire condition of my original glasses, they rushed the order through. Super in every way and I will definitely go back! I've got a complex prescription for progressive, ultra thin lenses, anti glare coating, transitions, etc., and shopped around... and around... and around... and around to find a fair price for new lenses and frames, but everything was $800+. So I went online and found the web optometrist run by Ocean Eyes. Called to see if the same prices were available in the store and told they were. Bingo! The lens fabricators screwed up the first set and they were sent back with no question. Unfortunately, the Ocean Eyes technician cut the replacement set incorrectly so they, too had to be replaced -- the double screw up the only reason I won't rate 5 stars. But in the end I got exactly the frames and lenses that I wanted for $300 less than anywhere else I could find online or off. My verdict: great people, excellent service, recommended. read more

I don't think anyone else on the globe can match their price, quality and service. After many years with another optical place I decided to switch to Ocean Eyes, and I looked at reviews, etc to see if they were any good in the opinions of reviewers. As soon as you enter you get a friendly greeting and people who actually want to help you, which is unfortunately rare. I ordered a pair of glasses after a good eye exam, and everything seemed fine. Then the lens on the right eye started getting loose. I went for a visit, and they fixed it right away, no muss, no fuss. This problem recurred, and a problem developed also with the frame. Ocean Eyes replaced the entire pair of glasses with no hassle, no interrogations, no BS. I believe they send their work out to grind the lenses, etc, so the problem wasn't even of their own doing. The way they handled it was stellar and professional and indicates a real desire to get it right for their customers. OUTSTANDING! I had mixed feelings about ordering from their website Coolframes.com after having read very mixed reviews. However, I did so with excellent results. On Tuesday 9/8, a day after Labor Day, I sent an email, best way to communicate, regarding the availability of a pair of frames on the site. I needed to replace the exact frame that I had broken so I already had the lenses. Within an hour or 2 I received a confirmation that the frames were available. I placed my order on line and had an order confirmation in minutes. Within a day or 2 I then received a shipment confirmation with tracking. My perfect frames were delivered on Friday 9/11. read more
