‼‼‼‼‼I had the most heartbreaking and traumatizing experience in this clinic, and I want to warn…read moreevery pet owner: never bring your animals here, especially small pets like guinea pigs or rabbits.
Early in the morning, I saw my guinea pig was very sick and not eating. I panicked and called several clinics to ask if they treat small animals. This clinic told me: "Yes, bring her now, it's an emergency, we can help." Relieved, I rushed over, believing they would save her.
I arrived at 9 AM. A man at reception took my pet away, and for the next 2.5 hours I sat with no updates, no communication, no idea what was happening. I kept saying it was urgent, but they just told me to wait.
Finally, a doctor spoke to me -- without even bringing my pet -- and started talking about stomach problems, then immediately said the cost would be $3000. When I asked for details or a price list, he left. Later, staff came in with two different papers:
* The first showed $216 for a "consultation" plus $188 for cremation.
* The second showed $216 for a "consultation" plus costs for treatment and medications.
It felt like they were literally giving me a choice: either pay for cremation, or pay for treatment. I even asked: "If you are already suggesting cremation, does that mean treatment won't help? Is it already too late?" They reassured me: "No, it's not too late. Treatment will help. You just need to give the medicines."
Of course, since the price difference between cremation and treatment wasn't very big, and because this was our beloved pet, we chose treatment, trusting their words.
But every 15-20 minutes the numbers kept changing -- $500, then $600, then suddenly $411. They seemed to invent prices out of thin air.
Desperate to save my pet, I agreed to treatment. After more waiting, they gave her back to me in a box. She was lying still, breathing heavily, clearly struggling. I begged them to check her, but they said: "It's fine, go home."
Within 15 minutes of leaving the clinic, after giving only the first medications they prescribed, my beloved guinea pig went into seizures and died in my arms. The same clinic that promised me she would be okay, that took hundreds of dollars from me, had let her suffer for hours and then die.
When I came back crying, with my child crying beside me, they quickly pulled me into a private room so other clients wouldn't hear. They said: "Sorry, sorry, it's not our fault." Then they demanded $300 for cremation. After arguing, they told me they would refund $80 for the medicines, then changed it to $150, and then told me I would only need to pay $24 more for cremation. Finally, they said: "Actually, don't pay anything for cremation -- but you will not get any refund either." The numbers kept changing every time, as if they were inventing them on the spot.
I spent from 9 AM until nearly 1 PM in this nightmare. My pet suffered for 3.5 hours while they played with numbers and gave me false hope. Instead of telling me honestly that they couldn't help, they strung me along, took my money, and handed me back my pet already dying.
To make things worse, while I sat in the waiting room devastated, I overheard staff laughing and celebrating someone's birthday. It was clear saving my animal was never their priority.
I cannot shake the feeling that they took advantage of me because I am an immigrant and my English is not strong. They saw an opportunity to overcharge me and gave me no clear information, no transparent price list, no real compassion.
My guinea pig went into this clinic alive. She left dead. And all they cared about was money.
Please, if you love your pets, do not bring them here. This clinic is cruel, unprofessional, and heartless. They gave me false hope, drained me financially, and let my pet die in pain. It is a nightmare I never want another family to experience.
