FYI, we haven't even been at the beach since covid. So, yeah... first time in the water in a while and learning how to surf. With great instructors anything is possible and it is never too late to learn something new. In the water they made sure we were safe and guided us thoroughly. My wife was able to stand on the board on her first wave. It was really fun. I needed more help and they were always there to coach us right along. Instructors need to improve their attention to Swimmer safety. Every class I have ever attended…read morehave been unsafe for the participants safety from other swimmers and weights being dropped dangerously close to swimmers. Swimmers carrying weights have been at risk of drowning due to other swimmers not aware of where underwater the person with the weights holding their breath are. This is a instructor issue absolutely since they are above water and able to avoid misshapes. Deep End Fitness does not care about Veterans as I have found to be the 3rd veteran who does not feel welcome. The communication of instructions need to be more clear for everyone to understand. This company is a liability for all swimming pools because they are currently Banned from 3 locations that I know of in California for unsafe practices and this location has had 3 near drownings that I witnessed and if you drown they ban you from the company which is poor practices.
