He explained to us what I was looking for, was patient, and showed us off market and the guns for sale. I was interested in the CA legal P365 and he knew everything about it. Very intelligent and knew what he was talking about. Even down to practicing and using those ear muffs with microphones in them so I don't yell, because yelling increases the heart rate and releases adrenaline so when you're shooting you want to be calm. I had to take a test but it wasn't hard. His whole team is amazing. I will say, with some customers, you need thick skin. Don't take his curt answers and confidence rudely. He's friendly and kind. When my gun came they texted me and let me know and were super professional. Also, I ordered ammo online and sent it to their shop. They sell ammo there however so they have everything you need. Now I know why it's so highly rated! Will return when I purchase another one!! Plenty of parking. Prices aren't the CHEAPEST around but they are a local store so it's nice to support local shops. read more

Matt and OC guns is awesome! I was looking for a very specific 22 rifle that was much harder to find than your on the shelf big box stores carry as regular stock. The big stores had it, but for some reason couldn't move it closer to a convenient pick up for me? Still don't know why, but I'm glad it happened this way because I happened to call Matt at OCG and he was on the phone with a rep and made it happen that same day. I was eying another 308 rifle and decided to give the sale to Matt as well because he was so customer service oriented. Not only did he find both rifles and make it happen, he even beat the big box store price by $25!!! Can't recommend Matt and OC Guns enough. I will be buying all my firearms from them here on out. I have shopping around for another firearm and hitting up my local gun shops. I knew about this place for a while, but hadn't made my way to it. Thank God I did. First, let me tell you they RARELY answer the phone. It bothered me at first, but once I was there, it kinda made sense. The shop is small and most firearms (handguns for sure) are on consignment and used. There was gentleman buying what looked like 3 rifles, another guy checking out a handgun and a lady selling some guns and placing other in consignment. Needless to say, a lot going on. I waited my turn and was helped my a younger gentleman with a dark mustache. He was straight to the point, polite (enough), and answered my questions. They didn't have the firearm I wanted, but said they could get it, no problem. I filled out paperwork, paid & was on my way ready for my 10 day waiting period. Even with all the organized chaos goin on, i was in and out in probably 20 minutes. I got a call a couple days later with my pick up date and the waiting game was on. Was reserving my review untill after the pickup. Pickup went without a hitch. The owner is very cool as well. We exchanged some pleasantries while everything was getting filled out. The phone rang and the guy didn't answer it..... because he was giving me, the present customer, all the attention i deserved. So don't get bent out of shape if the don't pick up. Just go. Trust me. I'd 100% recommend this shop to any serious buyer. Go handle some guns at ammo bros or another store. But come and support this "little guy". Talked condescending to me because I was not former military as if I didn't know what I was taking about. They have sold two guns for me so far, and a third is set to sell. They have a super professional staff who follow the letter of the law. That's awesome. That's exactly what I was looking for. My guns were listed with little trouble and all the paperwork was completed in 30-45 minutes from walking in the door. They helped with finding a good price to list them at and each gun sold at the asking price. Their 10% seller's fee is very fair and I was paid in cash. One out of five stars for talking a good game but not delivering on anything. Bought an AR lower from them to have them build it for me. Three months later after many excuses in person and many unreturned calls, I left the store with my AR lower untouched even though I had been told it had been completed. These guys are solid professional great people. RJ helped me out when I was choosing my first ever handgun. The man brought out a bunch of different options for me to choose from. I don't know why everyone is saying they don't pick up their phone. I called on a Friday afternoon, and they picked up after the first ring. They explained the entire process to me clearly and told me what paper work to bring. The next day I chose a Glock 17, a little under two weeks I picked up my firearm and also purchased a 1000 rounds of 9mm from them at a price that's competitive with most online bulk ammo retailers. 11/10 I'm only buying from these guys. The staff working here is great. Very friendly and, although maybe not gun experts, very eager to talk to you and learn things. The owner, however, is a jerk. Very rude, opinionated and a general overall know-it-all. It seems he can't be bothered to answer simple questions. He even acted this way when the old OC Gun owners were still there (last year). His attitude has always been very bad, unfriendly and not the kind of face you want to present to people willing to come in and spend their money. If you need to do a PPT, call Armstron Arms nearby. Much nicer. If you need to buy anything, go to Turner's. It worth all the hassles that Turner's make you go through so that you can avoid the jerk owner at OC Guns. I was looking to have my rifle made "featureless" at the recommendation of the gun-shop where I purchased the rifle last month because Cali regulations could cause problems on the range if left as is. A featureless modification would allow the rifle's magazine to be used traditionally (using the quick release button) as long as other modifications are made ( i.e. handle angle adjustment, muzzle adjustment , butt stock adjustment , etc). Initially, I was promised that the work would be done in 7 days. I returned in 7 days and the work was not done. Then, they said to come back in 4 more days because it was not ready. I returned in 4 more days the work was still not complete. At this point, I was fed up and I asked for the rifle back. They refused to return the rifle saying that it was in "parts status". I told them I would wait for the work to be done and they made me wait outside the store while he worked on it for the next 30-45 minutes. In my opinion, the work was substandard because the lower receiver was sawed into in order to adjust the handle angle backwards. I would not have authorized for the rifle to be cut in this way because there is a different way to make the rifle featureless without cutting the lower receiver. By cutting the receiver, the structural integrity of the lower receiver may also have been compromised. Also, the jagged edges of the saw cut were not smoothed out before it was given back to me. There was also some unusual markings on the upper receiver where they apparently had to use a vise to secure the rifle while the lower receiver was sawed. In addition to the finish out being poor (jagged edges and unusual markings on upper receiver ), the muzzle was not modified as legally required. So basically, the rifle was returned to me and it was not legal because of the way the muzzle was not modified appropriately. Therefore, I had to take the rifle to different gunsmith, where it currently is, to fix these issues and test the integrity of the rifle to make sure it is still usable. Overall, this was a bad experience because they do "custom work" half-ass and I will not be going back. read more

He was able to address all the questions and concerns I had pertaining to ownership as well as showing me available stock. As a first time owner, I would highly recommend checking out this store if you need some more guidance to have a better idea of what may suit your own wants/needs. The shop itself is a bit cozy but it makes interacting with the associates much easier. I have not had the opportunity to look at much of their inventory but even in the current climate it seems they have quite a decent selection. OC Guns is the only place I go to because it's close to where I live and if it ain't broke, don't fix it! I've only purchased 2 guns ever but both were from them. Just picked up a sweet new Ruger PC Carbine for $660 out the door (Glock compatible - get one & thank me later) and it was significantly more expensive everywhere else I looked. I also got my Glock 19 from them a few years back and have since bought ammo, a LED strobe light and Sig Red Dot from them. The guys there are super chill, down to earth dudes, really knowledgeable and offer great prices. I had a highly disappointing experience at this gun shop. The staff proved to be both unprofessional and rude, struggling to install gunsights without damaging both the firearm and the sights. Despite promises of a week, the task dragged on for nearly a month. I did not rush them, but when I received my slider with the sights I noticed several chips and scratches. The sights ordered came in new but looked like a careless beginner installed the sights from the damages. See pictures below. In addition, to their lack of skills and manners, they are always eating Mcdonalds everytime I visit, and never bothered to wipe the grease off their fingers before handling customer guns. This place came highly recommended by my brother in law. Employees are very laid back and personable unlike other gun shops in the area. As everyone else has stated already this place is time so expect to rub elbows and inch by people when you come in.
