Jim and Tom were extremely patient and thoughtful with him, letting him measure the lobsters, put on the rubber bands and otherwise get hands-on as much as he wanted (which was a LOT). They also tailored the tour to his (quirky, 3-year-old) interests, letting him fulfill another dream of fishing with a full-size rod (he caught three pogies, and is still talking about it), and circling around a huge navigational buoy he was mesmerized by (Tom: "It's big. From my first inquiry with Captain Josh I knew we would have a great day. Unlike other charter captains I spoke with, he listened to what I was looking for and what I wanted to get out of the day. He gave us that and more! We were on board the "Annah Hunter" which provided a fast quiet ride out to the fishing grounds. Captain Josh's mate, April was incredible. Like I said I've been on several big "Party Boats' and I wouldn't take 2 of their mates for April. She was so attentive to everything going on it was awesome. From removing fish to changing lures to even helping us bait our hooks she was all over it so that we could spend as much time actually fishing as possible. And fishing......Captain Josh had us on the fish constantly. Every place we dropped we caught fish and we caught very few dogs. I can't say enough about the crew they were so attentive to everything that we needed. I would absolutely recommend them highly for a charter and I will unquestionably use them again.

Captain Dan took us out for a half day fishing trip. He did an awesome job. And I don't say that…read morejust because we caught fish but because he made the whole experience special, like we were family! First, the three of us in the trip were seniors and one had mobility difficulties that made getting in and out of the boat dufficult.. Capt. Dan found solutions and make accommodations that made it easy as possible. Thank you! Once in the boat, Capt.Dan quickly adapted to what we wanted to do. He clearly loves fishing and being on the water. He knows the area around Gloucester, near shore and out a ways so he could quickly adapt to sea conditions and ensure our best chances for catching fish. He let us set our level of involvement, whether just sitting back as he trolled, with rods in the holders, or holding the rod and actively fishing. He used both live bait (mackerel that we actually fished for) and trolling lures. On this trip we caught a couple of the biggest fish I've ever caught! A 32 inch bluefish that really put the word sport into sport fishing! And a 42 inch striper that easily weighed 30 pounds. Both were caught near shore in protected areas with minimal chop (one of our party surprisingly got seasick..a first for her and to which he adapted immediately). We even cast a couple of lines as we tied up at the dock and he cleaned our fish. We almost caught another striper! Like I said Captain Dan went above and beyond for our party, ensuring we had a great day on the water. He made us feel like family! I highly recommend this charter!

Great Sunday morning on the water with Captain Vito!…read more My girlfriend and I took her father out as a planned birthday present and, having grown up fishing and having been on a number of charters before, I was nervous about going out with someone I didn't know and wasn't necessarily recommended to me. But please listen to your friends on Yelp, book a charter, and have a fun time catching fish. We went out for stripers, so we had a go at catching mackerel in the morning to use as bait. It was slow for mackerel, I think we caught four, but it wasn't for lack of trying on Vito's part. He was on the radio all morning looking for hot spots and looking at the fish finder himself, all while we had three lines in the water. We got a few pollock later on as well. Most of the day was spent trolling the shore for what we came for and we hooked into around eight, landing two keepers. We'll be eating fish for the next month, but the best part was the company; Vito included. Vito has been fishing for 30 years (we asked) and you can tell he still loves what he does. Vito is instructive with the equipment to the point where you feel comfortable using something you hadn't seen before an hour ago (one of us hadn't been fishing before). Vito will work as hard as he has to in order to get you on fish and be happy doing it. We'll be back as soon as possible! Thanks again!
