The Swami has a calm and genuine radiance that let´s you know that you are in good hands, whether you are a newbie or advanced. Should you have a deep urge to learn about yoga, his traditional upbringing and understanding of yoga will spare you many many years of practicing yoga with "unknowledgeable" modern yoga teachers.
This yoga school is different than any other yoga school/establishment I have ever visited. It is located on a corner of two busy streets, however, once you walk in and are greeted by the beautiful and calm sent in the air, you know that you can now leave your frazzled and busy thoughts behind. And you will!
The studio is located on the second floor of an Altbau house, which comes with the charming hardwood floors, high ceilings and large windows. Yet it has a traditional and practical ambiance and impresses with its simplicity.
People there are friendly and welcome you immediately and one has never the feeling of being a newbie. The yoga sessions are taught in one room, which fits approx. 15-20 people. The neighboring room provides additional space for more people.
The sessions are different each time. I think that Swami works on these things rather deliberately and one gets the feeling that he has put thought into preparing a yoga session. In addition to the regular asanas, one day it could contain singing mantras, the other breathing exercises, or a focus on meditation and relaxation, sometimes it could be a few minutes of philosophy and one can learn about Indian medicine or alternative remedies. It is all well balanced and you will leave the session with a smile on your face. Promised!
