The hotel offers 24/7 room service which I planned on taking advantage of with a long day of sight seeing. At check in I didn't receive any VIP benefits like a complimentary breakfast or room upgrade which was the first disappointment but was nothing compared to their customer service. I tried calling room service at 10:30 pm, it rang for about 5 minutes but nobody answered. I called reception at 11 pm to see if they could help connect me or provide another extension, to which they responded that the kitchen was busy and they would call me back shortly. I waited 15 minutes then I walked down to the hotel restaurant where they told me it was closed but Fernando would take my order and have it sent to my room. An hour goes by so I called to check on my order, they said it was on its way. Another half hour until a server arrives to deliver a tray, and he drops it off and quickly leaves without opening the food cover. I lift the cover to find that it isn't what I ordered, so I call down to room service but they don't answer so I call the front desk. They advised the food I ordered was all out so they brought me something else and that the salad descriptions needed to be expanded upon. They showed no respect or common sense to call me to let me know that I would need to select another entree or that the word "salad" doesn't best describe the dish. I speak Spanish, I read the description in both languages so I am totally perplexed by their poor food description. They finally offered to make me something else, but I said I wasn't going to wait another hour and a half for food. They still charged me for the dinner after all of that. I contacted the hotel who offered to make accommodations for me the next time I visit instead of fixing things here and now. I obviously don't have any plans to return to Córdoba in the near future.

Awesome rooftop pool and bar with great views of the city. Before I forget, on site parking (which is the main reason I chose to come here). At the Eurostar Palace Cordoba hotel restaurant during breakfast my handbag with credit cards,…read morecash, iPhone and progressive glasses was stolen, and I lost over 2,000 USD. Hotel reception assured me that no other people except people staying in this hotel could come to the restaurant. Hotel security cameras showed that some unidentified man who was not staying in this hotel, took my handbag and left the hotel. I filed a complaint at Cordoba Police station. Police investigated that two men who did a burglary came to the hotel to commit theft; they were not staying at the hotel. They had very clear intentions and they were prepared for that (they were carrying luggage and were pretending that they were staying at the hotel). I don't think that this was the first burglary case in this hotel, just in my case I was not going to the airport and I had time to file a case with the police. Other people do not have time because they have to go to the airport in order not to miss a flight and even lose more money. The hotel manager straight away, without even apologizing, said that most probably hotel insurance will not cover this case and there will be no reimbursement from the insurance company as well as from the Eurostars Palace Hotel (I think they purchased the one which cost less). After two weeks I received a letter from a hotel which was sent to my home address in the US (all in Spanish and I don't speak Spanish) saying that this is not their fault A hotel owes a duty to meet the industry standards of reasonable care to its guests. The hotel did not perform its duties properly, did not provide sufficient security. The hotel had a duty to prevent their occurrence and take all measures to prevent this from happening. But unfortunately, nothing was done. I came to Cordoba with an invitation from Departamento de Comercialización, Trade Relations Department of Spain based in New York in order to promote Cordoba province as well as Eurostar Palace Hotel for American tourists. Complaints to the hotel were sent from me, from the General Manager of Cordoba Tourism from the Trade Relations Department of Spain based in New York but the hotel just ignored all of them. Please stay away at any cost from this hotel, they don't care about you, your belongings and your safety.

The hotel "star system" really needs an overhaul. After experiencing a number of "four star"…read morehotels with ungodly prices that seem more like roach motels, it was a refreshing change to stay at Don Paula while I was in Córdoba. Although Don Paula is a two star hotel, I found the following to be outstanding: The service - The hotel is family-run and I was always greeted with a very warm "Buenos Dias" or "Buenas Noches" when entering or leaving the hotel. The size of the rooms - HUGE by European standards. Even the bathroom was large enough for all of my girl paraphernalia. FREE minibar - At first I thought this was some kind of joke, but it's for real. Free water and juices are restocked daily. It's important to stay hydrated when it's 45 degrees centigrade. Speed of the WiFi - I had the fastest and most stable connection at Hotel Don Paula on this particular trip to the south of Spain, hence why I bombarded your Facebook news feed on this particular day. Proximity to the main attractions - In fewer than 10 minutes, I walked from the hotel to the Mezquita, Alcazar, Sinagoga AND was extremely close to the centro commercial. Super-important when there are sales to be had! And last, but certainly not least... Price tag - For 40 euro a night, I had one of the best hospitality experiences in Spain. The hotel was nothing short of a bargain and I felt extremely welcome here. My only (very minor) complaint: the walls are very thin and I was able to hear the guests next door jamming to "Eye of the Tiger" during siesta time.

My room was clean, very large, bright and sunny; very comfortable. Bathroom large and clean. Shower worked well. Bathrobe and slippers provided, plus a blanket if needed. Large comfortable double bed. Everything a guest might require, including wi-fi. The staff is very pleasant. The price was VERY reasonable given the high quality of the accommodations. I was really pleased with my stay. I had spent one horrible night in a 4 star hotel in Cordoba and checked out. I found the Hotel Don Paula, and the rest of my time in Cordoba was enjoyable and relaxing.

I booked my room three…read moremonths in advance, but when I arrived, they told me there was a problem with the room's door and that they had to relocate us to another hotel from the same chain. That other hotel had noticeably worse ratings and was cheaper in price (their claim about the price there being higher is simply not true - you can check it yourself by googling price of Patios del Orfebre and Hospederia Luis de Gongora). The staff made no effort to offer a solution, discount, or even a sincere apology. They are saying that we willingly took a deal: that's not true, we didn't have any other choice, the lady just ultimately say: speak with booking yourselves. The lady at the reception was rude, completely unwilling to listen or try to resolve the issue. What made the situation even more frustrating was seeing other guests check out at that same moment (clearly, there were rooms available). And we have not arrived late, so if they wanted they could accomodate us first (according to our advanced booking and early check in - what would normal hotel do).Yet, despite my reservation being made so far ahead, we were turned away. When I contacted Booking, I never got a proper reply. The property later sent an explanation (six hours after our checkout) claiming the issue was due to "plumbing problems," which contradicted what they told us in person. Because of these inconsistencies, I strongly doubt there was any real room issue at all. It felt more like overbooking, or worse, something discriminatory since we come from a developing country. I would sincerely advise anyone considering this hotel to think twice. You might end up moved to a worse place without compensation, treated poorly, and have your trip completely ruined. P.S. Earlier this year, I stayed in another country where the door of my hotel room was actually broken by previous guests. The way the staff there handled the situation was respectful, caring, and proactive.
