This preserves the integrity of the object and forces the aesthetics to speak, however it limits the stories and history behind the objects. My favourite was the African collection which raised some interested questions in a gallery setting. African objects have been and often still are, are the core of the debate 'art of artefact?', with the answer depending on the perspective (artistic or anthropological) adopted in the situated cultural Western hierarchy. The staff are great and will help you as soon as you need assistance, they are well trained and know their music and films and obviously love their job. The prices are fairly reasonable and you can certainly get an excellent bargain at sale time, especially on DVD's so you can buy early and tuck them away for Christmas. HMV also take returns without too much fuss providing they are unopened, they also sell gift cards which are great to pop in the post to friends and relatives.

The shop itself is very cramped making it very difficult to move freely around the store, but the bargains including top brand names for a pound makes it worth the claustrophobic atmosphere. Dove shower gel, Nivea face cream, Nivea for Men and Bratz branded clothing and body spray are all items that I purchased as stocking fillers this year for Christmas.

As with the store, the three checkouts are often very busy, but the staff are friendly and efficient. Definitely worth a look if you're shopping in the town!

It is 50p for 1 hour, £1 for 2 and so on. There is often a parking attendant on hand, who keeps things running smoothly.
