Traveling from west toward Dallas, we needed a place after stopping at Carlsbad Caverns. Summer…read morerates & occupancy can be tricky for a last minute reservation. All hotels in Midland/Odessa area were asking close to $400 per night! Not here! It was closer to $100 & we've never gotten such a lovely welcome!! Prompt friendly check in, complete with lemonade & cookies. We inadvertently showed up on a Wednesday which meant dinner included! Margarita hosted all guests (5-8 pm) at the managers reception with her home cooked chicken tortilla casserole & a piping hot pot of delicious rice!!! And beer or wine included! Ooookaaayy! :) Then to our clean, quiet & spacious room. The extra space & fast internet was much appreciated. We slept great on the comfy beds & woke up to a FULL breakfast (included). These folks really try to make your stay as comfortable as possible. And it was a blessing to experience. We'll always stay here when traveling through west Texas.

Well we get back to the hotel and surprise water shut off. No notice what so ever except a slip of paper they must have taped today the door after 6 am. Nice same day notice. Told her I'm not paying for a room I cant shower in. Ridiculous. I won't get in to the left overs from god know when in the fridge or the random hair that was all over my shower wall when I checked in but you get the picture. This place is the worst.

I reserved a 1 king sized bed non…read moresmoking room and Immediately when I walked into the room, I felt very hot because they dont keep the ac in the rooms on and I encountered a strong smell of cigarettes. I started to look around the room and saw that there was a hole in the bed spread where the previous guest apparently had dropped their cigarette. I also noticed dirt and grime stains all over the walls and a lot of water damage in the bathroom. Next I went to put my food and insulin in the mini fridge, but decided against it because the mini fridge was not even on. I was told to turn it on and it would take 15 minutes to get to a decent temperature but it took MUCH longer than that. I went to request a different bed spread and pillows because the pillows in the room were basically as flat as paper, but I was denied both of those requests. I then requested a different room and was granted the request, but that room had a MUCH stronger odor of cigarettes, the ac and fridge were still off, and several of the outlets were not properly secured to the walls and had exposed wiring. I decided at that point to begrudgingly stay in the first room I was offered. I then brought a friend of mine to stay with me and she couldn't stand the room because of the stench of cigarettes and the other issues with the room, so I decided to request a refund for my stay. Because I already had the room for over an hour, they denied my request for a full refund and would only give me half of my money back, or allow me to stay in a different room. I chose to stay in a different room, which was actually half way decent. I took the pillows from the first room to the third in case they were as flat as paper in that room as well, but was told I couldn't do that and had to give them back. The next day I checked out as soon as I could and my friend and I then got a room at the Windham only a couple of minutes away. The night there was actually cheaper and included breakfast. I should've stayed there to begin with but wanted to give this small business a chance, which was a mistake. Stay at the Windham. Not here.

This charming hotel is dripping with history and the owner, Gareth, was the absolute host, providing concierge, antidotes, history and general hospitality. The rooms were clean and the beds were oh, so comfy and the entire hotel is fascinating. We were so glad we came across this magnificent hotel. I hope to visit again soon.

There was still some construction going on during our stay but we didn't mind. We reserved 2 rooms to stay for a family funeral but upon getting to the hotel, we discovered the rooms we on different floors. Without having to ask, the employee gave us a free upgrade to a suite in one of the rooms so we could be on the same floor. The room itself was pretty clean and the bed was very comfy. The shower was a little dirty, but all the design was very new and nice! Housekeeping was quick to refill our toiletry items and towels on the second day of our visit, which was great. I hate having to call for refills! The breakfast had a lot of options but all the hot options were pretty bland. Overall, I would definitely choose this hotel to stay at again!
