So, there I am in Antwerp for about 10 days and thought I'd try one of the local laundromats. Found Wassalon on Yelp, loaded up my large backpack with over a week's worth of welll worn clothes, and headed off to what turned out to be a nice locale where Wassalon is. The laundromat washers and dryers are coin operated. You can buy clothes washing soap too. Just go to a central coin dispenser in the back and choose the coded machine you are paying for (whether for buying soap or to operate the washer or the dryer). For the soap, it was 1.20 euros. For the washer, it was 4 euros. And for the dryer, it was 2 euros. And the clothes washing machines and dryers are HUGE. Definitely a recommendation ... and can be a more economical option than having (at least for me) over a week's worth of laundry done at the hotel. There is also large counter there to fold your clothes too. And just a few meters outside Wassalon, there are great fresh brewed coffee locations. You can sit outside across the Wassalon too on a park bench vs. sitting inside too. Enjoy! read more
