Oakland Heights is a great school for kids. We have caring teachers, a rigorous curriculum and many opportunities for students to participate in extra activities. Oakland Heights students attend a weekly science lab, learn to read in small groups and use hands-on materials during math. Students can learn dance after school and the school has other after-school activities throughout the year. Oakland is a community school and has a small school feel while still giving students many exciting experiences. read more

Then the director went to try to diagnosed my child by saying that she had autism which is illegal for her to say. Took my child to a specialist and she basically broke it down that she was just being a 3-year-old there's nothing wrong with her. After that couple of months went past then my child got into her first scuffle after that she tried to throw the book at my child stating that she was suspended even though later on that day they had another two kids who had a fight nothing happened and All of this information is coming from the teacher. The teachers also informed me that my daughter was being mistreated by the director so I had to take her out I would not recommend anyone taking their children to this place

I ended up paying the daycare over $400 extra because they messed up my child's arrangement to move up to the next class. Then I found out they had 5 other kids in the same situation! Either they don't know how to count, or the daycare is out to make money. By placing a lot of older kids in a younger class, then holding them back and making them wait to move up, the daycare was making almost an extra $100 a week. Shame on them for calling themselves a 'Christian' organization when they are after money. STAY AWAY!

He stole it from the school and sold it to me double what the school paid. They gave him a slap on the wrist and made it hush hush. He also dis The same with other students but they never received their broken welders. The school retrieved the welder from me and I got restitution but that went straight to my bills instead of me getting to buy a new welder. the School failed At their fiduciary duty when they didn't punish mr Danekas the first time they caught him being untrustworthy. The children in this age range are very inquisitive and would have questioned what the shirt worn by the girl meant. Let me start off by saying that I feel like I'm the kinda person who lingers between Andy Dwyer and…read moreRon Swanson. So before you take this too seriously, let me remind you that this is a Yelp review. That being said, I'd love to come out of retirement for this review and talk about something that I've cared so deeply about ever since I joined Greek Life, in the time before twitter. Lame ik.. First, I highly recommend going Greek no matter what your age is. But before you do, know that there is a standard you must meet. The school will tell you that you need a minimum GPA of 2.5 in college or in High School (if you're an incoming freshman). But lets be real, if you're coming out of HS with a GPA between a 2.5 & 2.8 you need to seriously consider establishing a solid GPA for a semester or two before you join. Now for the part they won't talk about during recruitment.. You need to be a person of solid character and moral judgment. In life you're going to be put in awkward situations that you're not always going to have a good answer for. But you don't have to be a rocket scientist to know the difference between good and bad. You'll learn proper etiquette later and will mold in to the person you were meant to be as you get older. That's life. Now who doesn't love sorority rush?? I'll be quick and to the point. As a whole, sororities at ATU need to use more glitter and the Campus Rush video needs a serious overhaul. The music in the video is comparable to Nickelback playing at a Chuck E Cheese venue. (Cringe) Now I understand the school wants to come off as a safe and conservative place for students. But seriously? Ew. My experience with sororities has been excellent. Something about southern ladies helping the community and being leaders on campus is a thing of beauty. (To my knowledge the Panhellenic Council is a secret society of robe wearers who all carry gavels) Idk I've never been to one of their meetings, it's just what I've heard. For the men in Greek Life, I'll make this super short and hopefully you'll get something out of it: You're born male, You grow in to a man, and you choose to be a gentleman. You can be cool and interact with everyone on campus without having to act insecure. Do that and you're college experience will be so much more bearable. Now for the PRO'S: 1 Speaking from experience, Greek Life gives you a platform to meet and get out in front of new people. 2 You'll make a ton of new friends and make memories that will last a lifetime. Who knew this was possible in Russellville? 3 Opportunities to get involved are endless. You can literally do incredible things to help the community. 4 Mixers!! Need I say more? 5 Greek Week. This is hard to explain unless you've been through it. And finally: The CON'S : 1 The Link 2 Mandatory meetings and events 3 No Greek housing. Seriously Tech needs to get on this. It's kind of embarrassing and hard to justify all of the improvements on campus while not have Greek housing. 4 Student Services can be your best friend or worst nightmare. Elect intelligent and hard working leaders!! 5 Fines 6 Living in Russellville. I could go on all day. Seriously. (Willing to change my review to 5 stars pending I get my photo hung up and placed in Doc Bryan). @RiffRaffPayne
