To anyone who loves their pet I cannot stress to you enough why you should not use this veto nary practice! I have a dog who has been registered there for 10 years, a friend of mine who built around the back area a few years back warned me of what he saw and heard them doing to our beloved animals but I shrugged it off as I believed them to be a good establishment until now, I took my dog their as she has dementia and I wanted to look in to options to make her less anxious when I am not there, I arrived was kept waiting for 30 minutes before being called in to the dingey room with used needles still on the side with another pets blood on. Ann looked at the screen the whole time didn't greet my dog or look her over it felt as though she was just looking for something to find fault with. I was then told the that 13 was a good age for a pet and advised that it was best to put her to sleep. Needless to say I was unimpressed and took her to NU vet for a second opinion. They were fantastic, never in her 13 years has my dog been relaxed enough at the vets to lay down. She was greeted and fussed the whole appointment, she was given a treat and I was advised that there was nothing wrong with my dog except for old age, I am appalled that I was advised by this so called 'professional' to put my dog to sleep. How many other animals have undergone the same fate? Just last year we took our family dog to be put to sleep there as she had cancer and when shaving her leg to out the needle in she shaved her skin off and she was bleeding badly and incredibly stressed out. This was the hardest bit knowing that she deserved a better ending. Please if you are reading this take note, your pet deserves better than this vet. I honestly truly believe that, at least seek a second opinion before letting them undergo something they may not even need. After all they are a part of the family too. read more
