Selecting right school for your kids is always the most difficult decision. As a parent you want to…read moremake sure your kid is safe, loved & protected. We felt it right when we spoke with MsEmily for the first time way back in 2018. We were on the waitlist for a very longtime but the moment they called me to confirm there is an open slot, I didn't think twice registering my then 4 yr old son to this beautiful school! Fast forward 2026- I would like to extend my sincere gratitude to you and St. Mary's as an institution for shaping my son's academic journey. This Thursday, he will be receiving the Honor Roll, and while I'm not sure how big of a milestone it is officially, I am extremely proud and excited because he scored 3.74 out of 4, earning A or A+ in all subjects. The strong foundation provided by your school has made a world of difference. Honestly, when we first enrolled my son, I was concerned about how he would adjust to a new environment and a traditional 8-3 schedule, especially since this was not a Montessori setting. I worried about his performance in math, science, and social studies. However, my concerns quickly faded when I saw how easily he adapted--finishing homework in just 5-10 minutes during the early months. It was clear that the teaching approach and support he received made learning feel effortless for him. Thank you for your dedication and for creating an environment where students can thrive. We truly appreciate everything you've done for our kids. I miss stmarys! And great job MsNel List is long on why StMarys is a great school and worth each penny! I truly appreciate you and your teachings! Looking back, I remember how scared and unsure I was when we continued with St. Mary's in 2nd and 3rd grade. Today, my list of gratitude for Ms. Nel, Ms. Nancy, and the entire St. Mary's institution is too long to express fully. The way St. Mary's teaches core concepts--multiplication, division, addition, subtraction, science, and language--has given my child an incredibly strong foundation. Two-digit multiplication and division are now a piece of cake for him! To our surprise, transitioning to another traditional private or public school has not been as challenging as we feared, and that speaks volumes about the quality of education at St. Mary's. Honestly, St. Mary's level of education is much higher than UCA. We deeply miss so many things: the organic food, the innovative tools, the no-screen rule, teachers who truly teach rather than relying on YouTube, the humane approach to breaks, creative playtime, and the productive after-school care. The list goes on, and it shows how much we value and miss St. Mary's. You are absolutely shaping future leaders, adaptive thinkers, and high achievers. Thank you for everything you do.

The Teachers and staff are all so amazing and truly love our children. I have never had to worry about her while in their care. That is a big deal to us. Highly recommend this amazing school.

My son currently attends and absolutely loves going to school each day, which says so much about the caring atmosphere they've built. This place is beautiful! They decorate for the Catholic holidays with such grace and beauty. I'm not sure if I'm the only one but I need a lot of visual stimuli and this place has it. I am sharing this so other families can make informed decisions. There is a serious lack of support for students' well-being. My child experienced ongoing bullying and harassment from both peers and, shockingly, her own teacher. This was brought to the attention of the principal, Mrs. Armenta, yet no meaningful action was taken to protect or support my child. The situation was also escalated beyond the school, but nothing changed. Even more concerning, there were instances where a student made repeated threats about bringing a weapon to school, and that student continued to remain in the classroom without what appeared to be appropriate intervention. As a parent, this created an environment where I did not feel my child--or any child--was truly safe. The school culture among staff also raises concerns. There appears to be a lack of cohesion and professionalism, with visible cliques among teachers and a general sense that student well-being is not a priority. Academically, the standards are far below expectations. My child entered 7th grade only to find herself repeating material she had already learned the previous year in public school. Instruction in some classes was minimal to nonexistent. For example, one teacher relied almost entirely on handing out packets, offering little to no direct teaching or engagement. Classroom management was also lacking, with students frequently out of their seats and off-task without correction. Ultimately, my children did not receive the education or support they deserved. Multiple families, including ours, chose to withdraw their children mid-year due to these concerns. I cannot recommend this school based on our experience. Families deserve a safe, supportive, and academically enriching environment for their children, and unfortunately, that was not what we found here. If you want a safe environment, staff with integrity, academic enrichment, a true Catholic spirit, this is not the school for you.

I followed every step and guideline required for enrollment. I brought my daughter in for testing and was told I would receive a call within two days with feedback. Unfortunately, I never received any follow-up. I called multiple times after that and was repeatedly told they would call me back the next day--but no one ever did. Eventually, I couldn't even get through to anyone. This was especially upsetting because my daughter was excited about attending. As a private school where families pay out of pocket, I expected a much higher level of communication and care. The lack of professionalism and follow-through is unacceptable. When we attended a tour with my mother-in-law, we also felt very rushed, as if our time and interest didn't matter. I even explained that I was willing to make a 40-minute commute daily for my daughter to attend, which is a big commitment--but that didn't seem to matter to them. Overall, the experience made it clear that this school does not prioritize prospective students or families. The front office appeared understaffed and disorganized, and the lack of communication speaks volumes. It's very disappointing, especially considering the strong expectations associated with a private institution.

The Staff, from the principal on down, care about each and every child at the school. They strive to make sure each student succeeds and flourishes in their preparation for the future. If you want to see the love and school spirit in action, look no further than the morning assembly. During assembly students' birthdays are recognized as well as athletic and scholastic achievements. Every assembly ends with a wonderful, uplifting song by the very talented music teacher. Starting the school day this way leads to a great feeling and positive mood for all. I will miss the morning assembly when my son graduates next May. So, if you are looking for a school for your child that has strong academically and spiritually, look no further and Sacred Heart Academy.
