It almost felt like a hot bath. In some sort. They do have a back patio in the common area when it is nice outside. And if you are looking to order some or any sort of takeout and eat it in your room, there are plenty of restaurants nearby and even a grocery store because the rooms do have a stove so if you would like to cook, you are more than welcome to. They even upgraded our room to ensure a comfortable, quiet stay since I was going through medical procedures. This kind of service and kindness is so rare. Our room was clean, spacious and lovely. They have a good breakfast and a nightly happy hour (my hubby could partake) during the week. The hotel could use some updating. One thing I will say is that the pillows are small and pretty beat up. If they did a single thing to improve the place it would be to replace pillows. The wifi could be stronger, they could update the tv's, electrical plug-in's should be more convenient. One downside, either part of the hotel still allows smoking or they had smoking rooms at one point and you can just smell it in the hallways. Not a big deal, but if you are real sensitive to it, you should be aware ahead of time. Overall, the hotel is quiet, clean and safe.

Late night check-in was quick and easy with an actual attendant to help. The drive downtown is about 20 mins or so depending on the time of day. But even with the College world series happening, the traffic wasn't too bad. The reason I only gave three stars is because the service at the small restaurant is terrible. I had the breakfast package with my stay, which included anything on the breakfast menu each day. However the service was basically non-existant. It is a seat yourself style restaurant and the server is supposed to bring you a menu and then take your order. I sat and waited about 10 minutes while I watched the server walk by like I was invisible. Thinking I may have misinterpreted the instructions, I went up to the counter where the server walked past me twice. I then got the attention of the chef who sternly told me to go sit down and a server would be with me shortly. After another ten minutes of waiting I went back to the counter and got the attention of another individual whom I perceived as a manager possibly. She sternly told me I needed to sit down and a server will take my order. I told her I've been sitting down for ten minutes (was actually 20) already and noone had come. I went and sat back down. After about another 5 mins or so I went back up to the counter and told the managers I needed to order and noone has come to my table. She took my order and I sat back down.
