I met with the owner today (Kim) about RE-deeding two plots my mother bought more than 20 years ago…read morewith her now deceased husband. She first asked if he had a will, I informed her that he did not and my mother was married to him when he died. I then provided a legal, durable POA, showing I am making all decisions in my mothers best interest. She said she had hesitations on the validity of it because it was not on an office letterhead (SMH) and further informed me that I could not alone make and decisions on the plots because she had a photo copy of moms deceased husband's obituary. She said there were four additional children/stepchildren listed and she needed to verify that they did not have any plans to use these plots. I then asked, are you saying you use a newspaper obituary as a legal document and over a durable POA. She said she could not defend a POA, but names on the obituary are real. I said, you know that obituary's are not verified sources, they are merely "news". She insisted that she is there as the owner to ensure everybody in the family's interest is her responsibility. Seriously delusional! And clearly does not understand business or law. I listened as she continued to explain, backtrack and mumble. I quit trying to make sense of it as I don't really care about the plots, her, whom they eventually will go to. I was simply trying to do the right thing and give them to someone needy, which I have full legal Power to do. Suggestion, find another peaceful resting place for your loved one.

I wish i could give zero stars for this Cemetery…read more My mother inherited her father's two plots at Greenwood. We sent all notarized paperwork to move the ownership over to my Mothers name. We then received a nice letter and a brand new certificate of ownership After this we listed the plots for sale online and waited a year and a half for a response. We finally found a buyer and when i called Greenwood to see if we could arrange the paperwork to be ready for the buyers, we were then advised that they didn't receive the proper paperwork from us and that the Certificate of ownership "they" sent us, was invalid. I was furious. Instead of apologizing and trying to make things right, they continued to lay the blame on my mother. We received no phone call from the owner or any type of apology. So now we lost the buyer and may have to wait years for another opportunity. I'm still in the process of reviewing this with my lawyer and regardless of cost, will be going forward with litigation. Don't deal with these people. They are severely understaffed, archaic when it comes to any computer records, and utterly incompetent. They are still living in the stone age

The lost of my beloved mother was so harsh, that while I was sleep I would grieve her lost in my dreams. On October 26, 2012 around midnight after I took my mother off live support from stage 4 uterine cancers. I called Rose mortuary funeral home, from Fort Saunders regional Hospital. The young lady who answers the phone in the middle of the night at Rose Mortuary was so kind. She first said that she was sorry for my lost, and that she will have someone come get her and that she will be well taking care of. Rose Mortuary Funeral is the only funeral home on this planet that went above and beyond caring and kindness for my grieving two sons' and me. Thanks Jim Rucker Funeral Director of Rose Mortuary, for helping me through my deepest moments. In Loving Memory of my mommy Theresita Elaine Fields a private duty nurse for over 20 years.

The rude man at the desk actually threw two packs of it at me as hard as he could and yelled "here you go, sunny!" Then, he laughed like a devil. One of the packs actually came open and made a huge mess all over my Michigan State sweater. I felt as if I had been attacked by this man. When I called the owner after the burial to report this bad behavior, rather than receiving an apology or explanation, I was curtly told that no employee there would do such a thing and that what he thew at me was likely just a box of Sunny Delight. I hope this is true. I love that sweater. But I will not wear it again if it has graveyard Fabreze on it. I love this place!

When you lose a loved one, the last thing you should feel is taken advantage of and this is exactly how we feel in this situation. We found out the hard way that The Daily Times does not do a printed copy of a newspaper on Saturdays. When we lost our father, the funeral home made arrangements to have an obituary run in the paper for us. This was so we could reach family and friends in the area that were elderly and do not utilize the internet. Unfortunately we found out a month later that nothing ever ran in a paper copy, and that we paid the same price for an online obituary that one would pay for a paper and online copy. All because they don't print papers on Saturday. Worse than this, only subscribers could view the full version of it online. So not only did we not get a paper copy, we couldn't even view a full version of it that we paid over $220 for, since we do not live in the area and not subscribers. To top it, we also paid the same as anyone else that would have gotten both a paper copy and online if it were ran any other day of the week. When we reached out to the Daily Times to get some closure and possible reimbursement for this, we were told that the funeral home should have been aware, as it is on the invoicing. The funeral home was out of another city, and were shocked when we discussed the issue with them. The Daily Times offered to run the obituary now, but a month later, honestly it's a little late. I do understand disclosures and although the funeral home may have missed it and we were completely unaware, the business practices is what I don't understand. Losing someone is difficult enough and everyone has their hands out for money. The Daily Times used this to their advantage. We were charged a lot of money for something that we didn't get. They should realize the importance of something like this and run the obituary the following day when there is a paper copy and not shut it down, and limit to their limited subscribers. Or maybe consider a partial reimbursement since it didn't run in a physical paper copy for our family and friends to see. Or why not reach out to make sure they understand what they are getting. Or even a better thought, why charge the same price? Instead of trying to make things right, they stick to we should have known and running something that is too late now. This is bad way to treat anyone, but especially right after a loss of a loved one.
