"Can I go to the dentist today, Dad?"…read more That's the question my 7 year old often asks when bored on the weekend. Generally I kind of sit baffled, wondering if we have the money to support the kind of lifestyle my kid wants of constant dentist appointments. This idea of leisure-dentistry is so foreign to me that I sit, perplexed, and wonder what the world has come to, that my child does not want to go to the movies, or play sports, or even watch cartoons. No, it's Saturday. My kid wants to go to the dentist. Maybe, you think, the dentist is slipping my kid some heroin. My little one has become a drug addict and is just trying to get his fix. But no, when I take my child in, I'm with him the whole time. And it's.... well... it's a very fun dental appointment. When I think of my own dental appointments as a child really all I can think of is holding my breath and waiting for them to be over, but here, kids are relaxed, they can have fun, and the whole experience, from top to bottom, is designed to put both parents and children at ease. The front desk staff could not be more friendly or more efficient. A pet peeve of mine is when doctors run late, especially with kids. Now, granted, this is unavoidable especially late in the day, but I've never been late here. But their front lobby isn't too shabby either. While these days they still have you wait in the car (to avoid COVID spreading, etc), the front lobby is clean and welcoming and inviting to children. The hygienists are friendly and kind. They speak to kids at their level, and are gentle. They put both of my kids at ease right away. So much so that, yes, my youngest wants to keep going back. At the end of the treatment, Dr. Randy is a godsend. He's kind to kids, straight forward, tells you what to look forward to, what to look out for, and genuinely cares about his patients. If he could be my general practitioner, I'd do it in a heartbeat. The kids interact with him and have fun. You can tell that besides being a dentist, he's a good man, and this is a good operation to be involved with. At the end, what my son really wants. The toy. See, they give the kids quarters and they get to play the toy slot machine to see what kind of toys they get. They're always good. And I'd like to say that my son just likes his teeth cleaned, but no. He's just a sucker for materialism. But that's okay as long as he keeps brushing.

I have had my kids seen there since my oldest was with her 1st tooth, now she's 17 yrs old…read more Explains how long my kids have been seen @ Coastal. Today, Tuesday December 23, 2025, I was late to my kids cleaning appointment. I made the front desk aware. We finally arrived, checked in, waited, and was about to be called back, until the team in the back noticed the balance, which was previously discussed with the accounting department. It took me speaking with the office manager to discuss my concern of the mis communication with the staff @ the front desk, the hygienists in the back with not so much good customer service, side bar conversations with the front desk and hygienists.. It's definitely noticeable with the new staff. Thanks! To the office manager for rectifying the situation. Out of my 17 years of taking my kids, I have never such a bad experience like I did today.

I have friends of other ethnicities who have brought their kids in for many many popped brackets and have not been charged. Reviewed contract and it does not say anything about this clause. It seems to be left to the discretion of the hygienist which can lead to beliefs that selections are racially motivated.

Upon coming to the Rivers Ave location, it looks so nice with a game room on one side and a room…read morewith a theater for the kids on the other side. The waiting room is also set up to look like rows of seats for a theater as the chair face tv screens that play movies for you to enjoy while you wait. The walls in the waiting room and clinic are painted so beautifully with murals. The staff, for the most part, are warm and welcoming. The dentist explains everything so well and she is very patient with all the kids. My youngest son is still pretty skeptical about getting X-rays done and getting his teeth cleaned, but the staff did so well with him and has helped him get through all of his appointments no matter how much he protested. So there is one receptionist (female) who is very flat. She lacks personality and never seems to be happy for a young person. I've probably had 4 interactions with her and they've all been unpleasant. I've never seen her smile and her tone and facial expressions are as cold as the waiting room's temperature (bring a sweater or light jacket! It's freezing in the waiting area). She's usually the first and last person I see so she's my first and last impression of the clinic. Not the greatest. That's unfortunate because everyone else is so great!
