The council chamber is actually beautiful as far as structure, with a podium for the speakers to present to the council members, city manager, mayor, city attorney and mayor proterm . Always nice to know there's a place for our voices to be heard.

Ned Davis is part owner of Legendary Organics, cannabis dispensary in Oxnard. I had a negative experience at his establishment on July 21st. I reached out to Ned as I was teated very poorly my his employees, managers Bennet and Marissa. There were conferences about it me receiving the proper tax exemptions as a state MMIC card holder. I was informed the taxes were lumped together and that there was no way to override the system. After a back and forth I left the establishment. I called and spoke to Marissa who interrupted me, spoke over me before ultimately hanging up on me when I asked for her name. I emailed Ned and explained. He did not apologize, but rather defended his employees stating they were nervous and confused. We had an email exchange before he finally stated he would meet with Marissa and Bennet. I was cussed at by Marissa and hung up on. I did not hear from Ned for days before finally reaching out and asking for an update. He responded a day later stating that we can agree to disagree on the tax exemptions I am entitled to as a state card holder before telling me I was no longer welcome at his establishment. Ned did not speak to his employees about their lack of professionalism. He was condescending in his emails to me saying - we can agree to disagree and if there's a loophole I know about please tell him as the industry could benefit. Saying that if I believe something it's just belief, not fact. This mad does not hold his employees accountable, is running. Shady business and did not return my multiple requestss for a call

Really liked the library the most. Super helpful and knowledgeable staff. Got us hooked up with…read moreaudio books on cassettes, a player, headphones, and a cool canvas bag. I originally came here to visit the store. The store staff lady was a little bit salty and reluctantly helpful (stood there and answered questions, but did not have any suggestions when asked or exhibit friendliness and eagerness to help), but facilitated my final purchases quickly. There was not a lot in the store for people who were 100% blind, which surprised me. She gave me the name of an external resource. This was my first time visiting the Braille Institute and it's pretty cool that they offer the resources they do. It's tough that there are not many places where you can walk in and talk to people other than the library. You have to make appointments. Heard good things about the classes - tai chi, jewelry, social, orientation and mobility, etc. I saw opportunities to attend live author readings that were spooky for Halloween, Looking into volunteer opportunities.

This is a terrible organization. I used to be a fan, but now I'm their biggest detractor.
