1 Star Review - Extremely Disappointed with LunsPro Inspections…read more I hired LunsPro for a pre-purchase home inspection expecting a professional and thorough job -- the kind of service that helps you make a safe investment decision. Unfortunately, that's not what I received. The inspector completely missed a major electrical issue in one of the bedrooms, where all outlets lose power when the light switch is turned off. This is something that could have easily been caught with even a basic functional test. Because of this oversight, I now have to file a warranty claim, coordinate electricians, lose work time, and deal with an unsafe electrical condition in a brand-new home. After filing a complaint, the original inspector admitted that this was highly unusual and that their "standard procedures" were not designed to test for this issue. He escalated the matter to his supervisor, Chuck, who then tried to convince me that this setup was not only acceptable, but actually very common in new houses -- which is absurd, since no one expects to need the lights on to use the outlets in a bedroom. A home inspection's entire purpose is to catch issues like this before closing. In my case, that didn't happen. I would not recommend this company -- there are plenty of inspection firms that take their work more seriously, check the basics, and actually stand behind their results.

Very few Yelp reviews of home inspectors so I went offline to a friend (I know, shock!) who had…read morerecently purchased a house and asked him who he had used. He was very happy with Jim Matson at Pillar to Post, so I contacted them. They were fine with my desired appointment time (Saturday morning, 9:00 AM). And when I turned up early at the house to meet the inspector, he was already underway. Wow! Very helpful, very knowledgable. I followed him around with my own little notepad, capturing the answers to questions I asked as he poked and prodded (literally, prodded!) the house, climbed up onto the roof and into the attic. Extremely thorough. And the report, OMG, wow. Forty pages of text and pictures detailing every room in the house and supplying detail of anything that looked like it wasn't right. A fantastic list of things to take to the seller. Jim has a good background in construction and since he's lived in Charlotte for years, he remembers what was going on when. So he could give excellent detail about the house that a less experienced inspector perhaps could not. I'm extremely pleased and he earned each one of those five stars.

Jim and his son showed up early and did a great job explaining everything in layman terms. Finding someone you trust is difficult In the home search game and I knew I could trust Jim immediately. I HIGHLY recommend Jim and his company.
