I know that I can always call with questions, and the staff at New Prairie Small Animal Clinic is always there to help me! They have even accommodated my work schedule to see my dogs. I wouldn't ever take my dogs anywhere else. The level of care and compassion is like no other at NPSAC. Dr. Szuba and the rest of the staff are excellent. One vet said my dog's blood pressure ($50 per reading) was high and needed to be checked frequently while another vet said it was high normal but the dog was anxious which explained the elevation. Another vet tried to give me nausea medicine ($64) when I told her the medicine had not worked for him in the past. Another vet wanted to treat my dog for worms without waiting for the stool test results -which were normal. Another vet wanted to take frequent blood tests ($300) for a condition I was not going to treat. Be aware that there is a pharmacy charge if you choose to get a medicine for your pet and decide after your visit. I have since found a more reasonably priced veterinarian who makes suggestions but listens to how I choose to care for my pet. The vets here are competent but they pushed a lot of unnecessary tests/medicines. Be aware.

If I could give negative stars- I WOULD…read more Took my sweet young boy Phoenix into get neutered and walked out unknowingly signing his death certificate. Dr. Weiss pure negligence towards my cat resulted in him being KILLED. His trachea was punctured while intubating for a NEUTER- which is not necessary as males can be awake for their procedure, that inevitably lead to air leakage that suffocated him to death. Dr. Weiss neglected to diagnose AND treat the cause of Phef's troubled breathing in a returning appointment- giving him steroids while his poor body filled with air. They also kept him in his carrier overnight with no supervision-WITHOUT my permission along with allowing my cat to piss inside his carrier, removing the bottom without telling me and proceeded to return him without the bottom of the carrier. I found my little son triple the size and crunchy to the touch as he had defecated on himself hiding from me-waiting to die only a year and a half after having him all because of the MALPRACTICE of DR. WEISS. I am sickened to my stomach for the lack of EMPATHY towards the hole in my chest that was once my son. I was ROBBED the next twenty years I was supposed to have with Phoenix. My whole world is crushed yet Dr. Weiss expects the bill to his neutering to be paid while taking zero accountability towards Phef's DEATH. I hope by sharing my experience- NOBODY will EVER have to go through what I did.

Last summer we boarded our dog here for a couple weeks as our regular wonderful vet,Dr Kaiser in Goshen, was not available. Halfway through his stay he became very ill & since he was older & diabetic it was very urgent. Scott Kryder did not wait for my checkin. He called and said our sweet Toby needed to see his regular vet. I was frantic how to get him back to Goshen when Scott told me he was almost there & had already spoken with our vet. Unfortunately Toby did not survive but this man did the kind thing by not hoping we'd call...in time.Because we left for home 2 days early we were able to say our goodbyes & though difficult we are so very grateful we got to say our farewells and know for sure it was his time.
