I was thankful to…read moreget there earlier than we've gone in the past so the lines to shop and get food were not long yet. There was also plenty of seating outside. Thankfully, the weather was excellent this weekend so the outdoor portion of the event was pleasant. There is an entrance fee of either $5, 3 cans of non-perishable food for Gleaners, or $10 for a family. You enter to their "agora" (marketplace) where they have lots of things for sale, baked treats, and cooking demos. You then can make your way outside where there are bouncy houses for the kids, a coffee tent, a drink tent, a food tent, seating tent, and a stage. The people working the event are so friendly and fun and the food is amazing. 10 out if 10!

His Rock is kind enough to let our church, Lakepointe borrow the space on Sunday evenings. Our oldest attends Lakepointe students youth group meetings here every Sunday from 5:30-7:30p.m. All the kids from 5th grade to 12th grade are welcome, even friends and non members, to join in an evening of fun, centered around being a good Christian and helping our fellow brother and sisters. They play a variety of games, engage in thoughtful conversations, enjoy the outside with basketball, football, and lawn games. They chow down on a huge spread that varies week to week. From snacks like chips, veggies and dip, to sweet treats like cupcakes, cookies and candy. They have even had dinner for all the kids on occasion with hotdogs and pizza. My son says that the lower level of the building where they meet is set up like a "cool basement". They have ...."couches, tables and chairs, T.V. and video games and board games and it's where all the food is", said my 11 year old. He loves meeting up with all the kids here, for a judgement free, fun time. It makes me happy to see his big smile every time I pick him up. I'm thankful for His Rock being generous enough to let Lakepointe church use this space for all the youth. Like I said, anyone and everyone is welcome (within those grades mentioned). It's such a positive 2 hours for our kids, helping to uplift and grow awesome human beings!!
