BEWARE. If you are a tourist beware. We went there for dinner and it was a nightmare experience. When you sit down they bring things to the table. Be prepared to pay for everything. They don't ask if you want it, they just put it there. You think it is complimentary; it isn't. They put down bread, butter, cheese and water. They charge for all of that, including €.70 for a pat of butter. Then the fun part comes. We ordered our dinner, but the waiter brought out a dish which we didn't order. We didn't realize it wasn't part of the meal at first but when we realized it , we sent it back. He then brought another dish and we didn't let him even bring it to the table. Then the bill comes and he charges for stuff we didn't order. Why did you bring food we didn't order? That's the way we do it here. Oh really, you cook food that you may have to throw out because no one ordered it. Who are you trying to kid? He says that they bring out dishes they think would go well with the meal. Are you crazy? If you let them they would run the bill into the hundreds. We've been to other restaurants in Portugal and have never seen that move. That's the way we do it here. We refused to pay for what we didn't order. It's bad enough charging for a pat of butter, but charging for things I didn't ask for, perhaps don't even like, that's out of control. I have been all over the world and have never seen anyone charge €.70 for a pat of butter. Our shrimp dish was ok, nothing spectacular, but the stress of the experience ruined the evening. read more
