Pastor Rick really engages the congregation. You can tell he truly loves the people at the church and has a deep love for Jesus. It is a very small church but has everything a large church has to offer. We heard today about their outreach team that ministers to the homeless in Kona. What a moving story!! We really enjoyed the worship music, message about baptism today and hearing of the outreach in Kona. We look forward to hearing Pastor Ricks next message.

The sincerity, leadership, and his ministry are surprising in a small church like WCC. His scholarship, biblical knowledge, and theological perspective are both refreshing and compelling. I don't know how long his sermon messages last, but they're over too soon. I could listen for a lot longer. His sermons are inspiring, fulfillina, and very didactic. This church is worth a visit, and it is worth staying at. God is present in this Church, and His Son Jesus occupies the hearts of those who attend.

Pastor Joe Medlin orchestrated a beautiful service spirit filled service. Lois Toevs, a retired doctor got up and made a enthusiastic announcement about needing help with one of the church's ministries. After church we all had fellowship and lunch. I told Lois I had some time on Tuesday I could dedicate as my husband was is in his conference. We had a fun time making meals for the Kona HIV/AIDS Foundation. See photos. It was a joyful experience and food is so much more than medicine as it feeds the mind, body and soul when you make it with love

The service was organized. There was food afterwards. The people were nice to me. I agree with everything the other reviewer said. They sang in Hawaiian twice. This may have been a one time thing but I was eaten on by mosquitoes. Afterwards, I noticed there was some protection on the back table. But I would recommend peppermint or long sleeves and long pants. However the attire was casual. I would come here again and recommended it to my friends. The earlier service at 4:30pm draws many young families, and the 6:30pm service has mostly college students and young adults. Located in a strip mall at the corner of Lanikaula and Laukapu, Engage really does seek to engage people with the love of Jesus. Services have energetic worship with contemporary Christian music in English, and sermons feel very relevant. They are directed mostly toward the millennial generation, but people of all ages can benefit and relate. When I visited recently, Pastor John was going through a series from Francis Chan on his book "Forgotten God." The message felt clear and challenging, and the pastor really encouraged the congregation to consider how to put scripture into action in our lives rather than just hear what's being said. We had an opportunity to write down our thoughts on a response card. Engage Church feels very welcoming to newcomers! They take a break after the first worship set, and people can grab snacks, which included chili nachos and watermelon when I visited. Surprisingly, the church encourages people to use their phones during service, whether to look up scripture or even post their thoughts to social media using a church hashtag. I work with college students, and this is a church in encourage my students to attend.
