To compound my predicament, after firing my seemingly deficient council, I answered the plaintiff's complaint and levied a counterclaim acting as a pro-se defendant for both my person and my LLC which was also named in said suit. With the plaintiff's lawyer fighting for a default judgment against my LLC (who I can not legally represent pro se), I enlisted Joe Howell who was highly recommended to me by a fellow machine shop owner I cold called out of a Yellow pages listing. That the individual thought enough of Joe to return my voice mail days later to vouch for Joe's character says a lot in my book. With Joe firmly in my corner, an arduous and drawn out fight ensued that ultimately culminated in the delusion plaintiff PAYING ME a low five figure sum to settle the matter. If these fees were ever questioned, then he'll charge additional fees for his response. The disruptive cycle drags on while very little attention is devoted to the actual case.
