They have despicable business practices here. They lie about how much time your car has been in the lot and upcharge you. Even if your car does not have a ticket, they will tow you without question. Even if you were in your car less than 24 hours ago, they will tow you. They may not make the decision to tow, but there is no excuse for lying about how much time you've had the vehicle in your possession. Avoid at all costs. Even if you desperately need your car towed, I would never call this place. There will always be a better option. read more

You're not alone, but in Indiana, there are very specific laws about when your vehicle can be towed, and some towing companies aren't following them. In Indiana, there's a "24-hour" law. Under that law, any vehicle left on private property is considered an abandoned vehicle, but before it can be towed, it must be tagged with a notification sticker and left for 24 hours. Andre McCallister says he didn't get that courtesy when trying to help a friend whose vehicle broke down - and he's not the only one. "(The car) broke down and instead of fixing it on the interstate with all the traffic at 5 o'clock, I pushed it over here in the parking lot," McCallister said. "I figured I would come back the next day after work to fix it." McCallister said the car needed a quick repair, but he couldn't get the part until the next day. But when he returned less than 24 hours later, the car was gone. "I got back the next day at 1:30 in the afternoon and the car was gone," McCallister said. He thought someone had stolen it. It was actually towed. The sticker on the vehicle, a ticket written from Eagle/Trident Security based in Carmel, was written at 3:33 a.m. The security company called Cooks Towing 11 minutes later, according to the tow company's invoice, which also shows the car was towed just 53 minutes after that. According to state law, a vehicle can be towed immediately if it's an emergency situation or if it's impacting a business, but the Marsh where McCallister parked his friend's vehicle has been closed since July 2017. Call 6 reached out to Eagle/Trident Security and Cooks Towing to find out why the car was towed so quickly, but neither company has returned our calls. City officials in Indianapolis say towing companies must follow the state law when it comes to towing from private property. What should you do if you get towed and the company didn't follow the state law? First, try to dispute the tow with the tow company. My car wouldn't started, called Toyota who recommended a different company. Waited more than hour on the other guys who were rude. Called Nye's and they were there in 15 mins (it was an 11 min drive so I know they left immediately). The guys were super nice and it was a good price for towing. Hopefully don't have any issues again, but would def recommend this service. read more

My dead mom's car was towed, and the lady who answered the phone had an attitude when I asked if they had the Car. I apologized for already being in a panic, and she came back with a snide "we did not tow a jeep last night, bye" and hung up. I have a business in Muncie. When my cars breakdown, I need help immediately.They have always been extremely pleasant and helpful. I'm reading these reviews and it's really the owners of the properties that these people should be upset with, not Nye's. They are only doing their job. Keep up the great work Nye's. You will definitely be my go-to when I need help. FYI- My review is simply my own experience. Was visiting Muncie for the first time. Parked in a spot where I saw no "no parking" sign. Walked into a business for a smoothie for about 30 minutes and came out to find my car and the cars of two of my friends missing. Thought it had been stolen at first. At edge of parking lot it says "If your car is towed call Nyes. It literally had been 30 minutes, so they were waiting for us. $130 IN CASH the NEXT DAY (because of course they are closed, and I'm from out of town) I have my car back. Unscrupulous to the core never use. read more

This place sucks so bad. My girlfriend was parked at my apartment complex for less than an hour while she was on break from work and they came and towed her car. The week prior to this i called the company and asked them to come pick up a car without a parking pass that wasn't even in a spot, was just randomly in the middle of the road in the lot and they never came to retrieve it. Poor customer service, poor efficiency, poor intelligence. read more

Honestly if you have any problem with why your car got towed they won't listen. I was trying to explain why my car was towed wrongly and the woman who helped me would not listen and treated me as if I were stupid for not knowing what places are public parking and what isn't. Would not recommend trying to work with the company, good luck if your car gets towed there! read more
