Well, I woke up fancying a full on NY style breakfast and what better place to get it than a small South Yorkshire village, perfect !
So, we made our way there, smart looking place clean, not busy but it was only 10 on a Sunday morning, waitress chirps over and gets us seated, drinks order taken and that's the last we see of her for about 15 minutes, how long to make two drinks in a not busy restaurant ?
Moving on, food order taken and it's at this point we are told what's not on the menu, might have been nice to tell us before we studied the menus snd spent 15 minutes dreaming of what we were now not having.
Onto the food.... Firstly, I'm 40 years old, I haven't needed plastic crockery now for about 35 years, really? Plastic plates ?
Food can be best described as adequate, if I were to be unkind I'd say cheap ingredients , oh go on then it was very cheap produce, stringy bacon ,over cooked hash browns and the icing on top of the cake was the dollop of margarine in a bowl to spread on my bagel, tasted exactly like you'd expect, bleugh.
To sum up.. Slow service in a fairly empty place and poor quality ingredients, the toilets had funny wallpapers though so not all bad.
Not worth the trip out and not sure we would return. read more
