There is a small balcony…read morearea with lighter weights, an adjustable cable machine that you can set up to work any body part, and medicine balls and ab chairs as well as stretching chair. This area is likely a hidden gem for people that want to use dumbbells from 5 to 20 lbs and not be in the free weight area that can be a little crowded with the "serious" lifters that people newer to a gym setting might find intimidating. Which they shouldn't, because despite the occasional intense looks most people are friendly and I bet would be willing to help a new person out. There are a lot of young people, like high school age, which can be annoying only in the sense that they sit on a piece of equipment and play on their phones for minutes at a time - often until you just politely ask them if you can work in. The gym has massage beds and a good selection of cardio equipment that users are pretty good about keeping clean and the staff get repaired in a timely fashion when maintenance inevitably is needed. Overall, the staff are very kind and friendly and although typically not sitting at the front desk they glance over now and then to see if anyone is there waiting for assistance or you can find them easily. They have helped me get the app to work for my check ins several times. The reason it's not 4 star is I could drive 1/2 mile east and go to LA Fitness which has a pool and basketball court. Which I often do.

I belong to several gyms in the area thanks to my health insurance company plan. I would rate this…read moregym as above average for the area- I'd give them 5 stars if they had a pool, sauna, and/or hot tub. I really like Reclaim because it has one of the best functional strength sections I've ever used in a gym. There are tons of weights, machines, free weights, and a huge functional training area with EVERYTHING you could need. Employees are nice. I love the idea that this place is open 24/7, not that I can stay up past like 10:00 anymore LOL. The gym is clean and seems to have a minimal amount of douchebags working out here. I would highly recommend this place if you're looking for a great workout with tons of good options. They just added an infrared sauna and I heard they're getting red light therapy beds, so that'll be fun to try too.

My wife and I moved to Chicago from New York City and needed to stay with her parents in Frankfort…read morewhile our home was being renovated downtown. We were concerned about finding a good Crossfit box in the south suburbs. We had grown accustomed to two excellent boxes in Manhattan, 212 Crossfit and ICE NYC (started by 2014 Crossfit winner, Camille Leblanc-Bazinet), and didn't think it was possible to find anything comparable to the Big Apple in the area. A family friend recommended Crossfit Dinami run by Paul and Dallas Stefanos. From the beginning, our experience was exceptional and our concerns about finding a great box vanished. In many ways, our experience at Dinami surpassed the already high standards of Manhattan boxes. Paul and Dallas are incredibly knowledgeable and fully dedicated to their mission. They have assembled a talented team that strikes the perfect balance between providing solid feedback without compromising confidence. The workouts are challenging while providing thoughtful scaling options that ensure everyone can improve their skills while getting an excellent workout irrespective of experience. Now that our renovation is almost over, we are ironically worried about moving to a big city and not finding a box as wonderful as Dinami! It's a true gem in the south suburbs and an incredible value for some of the best exercise programming we've found anywhere!

COMPREHENSIVE & TRANSPARENT REVIEW OF UofGF - UofGF is owned and run by Coach Steve Patterson. My…read morefamily had over a year of experience with Coach Steve in the children's class and a few months in the adult class. The children and the adult members were all friendly and great to work with. The parents are also great & the children are delightful. The substitute coaches are all wonderful and easy to work with as well. However for the past year, we've experienced several concerns with Coach Steve's teaching style. Coach Steve has an arrogant coaching approach to both children and adults. Many children are between the ages 4 to 8, still finding confidence in themselves; building confidence is what drives many people to jiu jitsu, especially children. Coach Steve is very condescending when speaking to the younger children and will not get down to their level when talking to them. Coach Steve is also incessantly yelling during the large portion of his class preventing the children from having adequate time to execute moves without interruption. This constant yelling intimidates many of the children and appears to be the reason behind the revolving door of many child members. On April 16, 2019 Coach Steve gave a long lecture to the children about how they should NOT cry; that they should not cry ON or OFF the jiu jitsu mat; Coach Steve stated," when I was a kid I never cried on the mat or off the mat!". The young boy (around 9 years of age) whom Coach Steve was lecturing was humiliated in front of the children, with his father present. We have not seen that child nor his father since that said incident. Many of the parents discussed the occurrence with disappointment following the class. Our 6-year-old then asked us if it is ok to cry when we got home. Our response was, it is never a good idea to bottle up your emotions.

I have no martial arts experience so that made walking through the door the hardest part. I've been going for about 2.5 months now and am really enjoying all I've learned. Steve is a down-to-earth, modest, and friendly instructor who is very skilled and knowledgable. Steve takes pride in seeing his students learn and grow and makes every effort to make sure they succeed. I also have a great experience with the other members of the gym. They all have been very friendly and helpful. I definitely recommend attending the University of Ground Fighting and think you'll get hooked, just like I did!
