Been using Nutrisystem off and on for years with success but their customer service is by far the worst. You can't seem to cancel unless you call them which is where the frustration begins. If I could give 0 stars, I would. For over 20 years, I have used Nutrisystem for occasional weight loss and been very satisfied with the food selection and the excellent customer service. So, this year, when I wanted to shed some pounds, I again ordered. BUT- I am very unhappy with the service I received and have cancelled them and will never order from them again. Why? 1) I ordered a particular dinner that I can eat. I have food sensitivity's and allergies. When I received the order, they had sent a completely different food item. The explanation- low inventory. No call, no email, just sent what they wanted and still charged me $500.00 for my order! 2) I thought I would simply call and tell them to resend the food. I have previously had to have food items resent and had no issues. When I called customer service I waited 2 1/2 hours for a surly representative. By the time I had unsuccessfully tried in every way to contact them on their website. Then waited 2 1/2 hours for a phone call, I was done! I was not nasty to the representative but told them I was unhappy with their service as a company. She canceled and then, before I could ask about a refund for the incorrect food, SHE HUNG UP ON ME! Not wanting another 2 1/2 hour wait, I just cut my losses! I will add that if you try to cancel online, you cannot. You have to call. When I tried to use the chat, it was a robot and couldn't comprehend the fact that I had received incorrect food items and resolve the issue. I also waited the previous day on the phone for 11/2 hours only to find out that, when I googled their hours, they were closed already and they didn't even bother to have it on their service that they were closed! I first used Nutrisystem since 2011 with success. Over the years, the food selection has gotten worse, no variety. i only kept my autoship going due to my price not increasing, and it was very affordable. However, recently I couldn't change my delivery date online, so i tried the automated system over the phone, but that didn't work either because when i logged into my online account and see that the changes I made didn't register. I finally started googling, and notice I'm not alone in my complaints about NS in general, and decided to just cancel my autoship order. I was on hold for over an hour at work because the only way to cancel was to call, I couldn't do it online or thru the automated system. While i was waiting on hold, I decided to try the chat online. It took a rep about 25 minutes to respond to me, but it seemed to work. I got an email confirming my cancellation was processed. I also went back into my NS account online to verify it. The one thing that wasn't cancelled was my credit card info was still on file, so I deleted the card, just to make sure. read more

Unable to cancel Nutrisystem. Call every day for five days and then was put on hold. I gave up holding 40 minutes the first day, 65 minutes on tuesday, the second day, 92 minutes on wednesday, 35 minutes on thursday and then called on friday, left the phone in the study, because the hold music is horrible, could still hear the music and was on hold two hours and 42 minutes before I finally hung up. Choosing Nutrisystem was one of the biggest mistakes I have every made. I hate nutrisystem and everything about it. Do yourself a favor and don't consider this program or company. The customer service 800# makes it impossible to get a hold of a rep. Foods arrive damaged or melted and there's no way to report the problem, so you just give up. Foods are expensive and highly processed. not sustainable. read more

I canceled my subscription online on April 30th since I was in urgent care due to a reaction to sodium and possibly preservites used in the meals. My blood pressure was extremely high after day 6 of the program so I went to urgent care on day 7 and was told to stop eating highly processed high sodium food. It has taken 5 days for my body to get rid of excess sodium and  regulate my blood pressure. read more

If only I could rate them with 0 stars. Not only will they not send even one reminder of your upcoming auto delivery (which, come on, is really no effort with everything being automated), so you are screwed if you forget to cancel in time, but then when you try to cancel online, you cannot. So you call the number they tell you to call, only to be told your wait time is at least 10 minutes (and after 1 hour and 15 minutes you still get NO ONE). "Use the chat feature," the recording says, but when you try that, you get a bot that asks how they can help. If you say you want to cancel, they auto send a long speech and at the end tell you to call the number that you already tried calling to no avail. "If you are having trouble cancelling, type AGENT to be connected to an agent," it replies.... to which you type "AGENT" and then sit and wait indefinitely for an agent. I still have not been able to cancel and it's been over 3 hours. read more

I rec'd my CC bill today & there was a chrg from Nutri System for $74.00. I was told by NS that I had signed up for this chrg when I bought my last order of food, which was months if not years ago. I had no knowledge of that & was also told I had been sent an email from them regarding this chrg. I do NOT read their emails, because I no longer do business with them, and even "Unsubscribing" does no good, so they would not refund that chrg. There's a reason Nutrisystem has so many 1 star reviews! The food tastes like cardboard, is near inedible, is highly processed, and has almost no nutritional content. Also, beware of any type of auto renewal program. I had a Club Advantage subscription and it auto-renewed with no notification/reminder and I hadn't ordered from this company in 11 months. I called (and emailed to complain) and they refused to refund my money. Read the fine print! Very poor customer service and questionable business practices IMHO. I lost about two pounds per week for the first seven weeks, by doing the diet and an exercise bike for ten miles a day. Then I hit a plautou. I started nutrisystem about two years ago, took some time off and restarted it a few months ago. They no longer offer a few of the deserts which is real disappointing. They often have low supplies of certain foods and if they don't have what you have ordered they choose what to send as a replacement. This month when I received my package the dry ice was completely gone when I unpacked it and while most things were still close to frozen, I had ten ice cream sandwiches in the order that were packed on the bottom and were completely melted. They decided to give me a $20 credit on my next delivery which is less than the cost of the sandwiches. The sandwiches cost $2.75 each. I thought they should add ten sandwiches to my next delivery but they refused. I'm not pleased about that and the discontinued items happen to be what were my favorites, so I'm probably going to drop them and look for a different program. read more

I've been successfully using Nutrisystem from mid-August 2025. It is now Feb. 3, 2026. I have lost 40 pounds. Just had my first problem with a shipment. I placed an order 1/29/26 and it was scheduled to be delivered on Feb 2. I requested a one-day delay with FedEx to deliver on Feb 3. I requested the delay because I had a medical issue that needed to be taken care of. When the shipment arrived on Feb 3, all the dry ice was gone, and all the frozen products were partially or totally thawed out. I called Nutrisystem because their FAQs said to not consume thawed meals. Because I requested the delay, they would not do anything about it. I have cancelled my plan. Now I'm out the food, (which needs to be thrown away) and the money that I spent for it. Thank you Nutrisystem. read more

Regular Delivery of Nutrisystem from the Nutrisystem website is absolutely awful. Federal Express does not seem to be responsive at all to customer needs or concerns. Late deliveries are frequent in my experience. Nuturisystem Customer Care is absolutely useless. The sales personnel are very nice and accommodating to get you to sign up for recurring delivery but that's where the service ends. As far as weight loss is concerned, it kind of works. In the past, before COVID, weekly meetings with coaches worked because it created an atmosphere of accountability. No, call and no weigh-in have destroyed most of the value of the program. Of course, it can work with very dedicated individuals who don't mind eating highly processed foods. But considering the processed foods, lack of personal in-person support and terrible customer service, Nutrisystem has become a pretty lucrative rip-off program in my view and I would not recommend it. read more

These were unauthorized charges, and stopping them took far more time and effort than it ever should have. Customer service was unhelpful and dismissive, offering excuses instead of solutions. They substituted for an item they sell for 25% less and when I asked for a refund of the difference he wouldn't do it. I was trying to postpone my shipments for 60 days due to health issues that have prevented me from consuming my previous orders. When I was unable to do an online, I called the number on the website and three times was put on hold after going through all the prompts, and After being on hold for over five minutes each time, I was immediately directed to a survey on how my experience with my customer service rep was. I gave zeros since I did not speak to anybody! Eventually, I was able to find another phone number and speak to a live person, but I was minutes away from just canceling my credit card so they could no longer bill me for shipments if they weren't gonna let me cancel or postponed. Thanks to a nice Customer Service rep named Tiffany I was able to push the order back 60 days and at that time I will decide if I need to extend or cancel. read more

My wife and i cancelled Nutrisystem about 6 months ago. She received an email a few days ago confirming some type of order that she does not remember ever ordering. I called Customer Service to reverse the charge of $69.99. I spoke to two different people who both told me that the policy was that this order was non reversible. I angrily asked to speak to a manager. He came back on the line and told me he had spoken to a manager and the policy was that it was not reversible. If you don't believe me, see for yourself and call the 1-800 and/or email them. You will be placed will on hold for a very long time with no answer. Worst program EVER. IMPOSSIBLE TO GET coaching help. I have waited for four weeks to get a coaching appointment and they cancel ever time often due to no show of their coaches. I have lost 1.6 pounds in six weeks. I have tried to cancel my subscription but they will not refund my undelivered orders. I was told they must send them but I can donate them to a shelter or a friend. When the coach doesn't connect with me they make we wait until the following week to schedule another appointment because only one is allowed per week. Today is the fourth time I have had a scheduled appointment and have not yet spoken to any coach. This program is ridiculous. Most people I talk to on this program are not loosing weight. Nutrisystem made me sick from eating their food. It was past the 7 day return policy so they would not grant me a refund. When I went to cancel the next delivery they said I had none scheduled. But I went to my account and showed one scheduled for October. So I called again and was told if I cancelled I owed $125 cancellation charge. I am a Senior Citizen and thought I was taken advantage of. Food was like eating dense tasteless junk! I did not authorize the $125 but they took it. I've been on this plan since the end of January with a weight loss goal of over 35 lbs. The first month I lost 8 pounds and a few inches. However, since that time NOTHING has happened, no loss at all. I contacted their coaching department to be told I needed to increase my calories to 1500 from 1200 which is what I was given by their app. I was told I wasn't getting enough calories to lose weight. Been on this a little over a week with little lose. Had another coaching call scheduled for today, however my phone was hung up from another call and therefore I missed it. I tried to reschedule for this week prior to my next order and I had nothing but trouble trying to get someone to speak to and then when I did I was told I had to wait until next week for a coaching call. This is NOT cheap for not much in results. I am totally disappointed in this program and their service to their customers. Seems to just be about making the money. read more

Nutrisystem is a COMPLETE RIPOFF. We have been clients for over 15 years. In the beginning the food was fresh and decent. It has declined significantly over the years. As well, their customer service is now non-existent. Their website is now so glitchy (on purpose) that it is basically impossible to cancel anything. FAIR WARNING - and this is coming from 15 years experience - TRY ANOTHER PLAN!!!! Good luck canceling if you sign on - once they have your credit card number there is no such thing as a credit if you make a mistake - I just had to block them from charging my AMEX without consent any more. I received the replacement without the meals that I originally ordered - - instead I got the same INCORRECT meals that they sent me on the 1st order. I've called numerous times (different days & times) asking to speak with a customer service supervisor and they keep telling me there is no supervisor available to call back. I even request to be put on hold cause I'm willing to wait for a supervisor and i've been told no. I then requested that the rep send a supervisor an email to call me back and allegedly supervisors don't call customers. It's the same food every month and I don't like most of the food they have so I'm very limited on the variety. They don't add new items or change meals. read more

I don't know what happened to Nutrisystem but the customer service is horrid. I received the wrong food in my first order. They said they would correct it. The corrected order was also incorrect and contained food from Jenny Craig which was fine. They gave me a $25 credit for the inconvenience. My next order was late and we ran out of food. It's hard to follow a program of "eat the food, lose the weight" when the food does not arrive. They told me to make my own food which completely defeats the purpose of this program. Customer service is rude and sometimes hard to understand. They would not let me speak to a supervisor. I literally have no recourse because I paid in advance. I would not recommend this program to anyone. It's nothing but a headache and the food is not very good. The company does not care if you lose weight or not. The fact that I can't get my issue escalated past first level support is crazy. Do yourself a favor and find another program to do. Make sure its not owned by Nutrisystem or you will be sorry. read more
