First time going to one of Salt Bae's restaurants. Was glad to try it in Istanbul because it would not have been worth it paying US prices. Firstly, this place was kind of hard to find. Luckily people helped us find our way. Make sure you make a reservation ahead of time. Overall the food was pretty good. The steaks were so buttery and tender. We got few sides of friends, mushrooms and mashed potatoes and they all were really tasty. The whole presentation when they bring your steak to the table was fun to watch. Even though it's cheaper in Istanbul compared to US, I felt like it still wasn't worth the price. I'd recommend to check it out at least once.

So this is a tough one. First off location is super cool, in the grand bazaar. It's a big open beautiful space. Service is also good - but because it's so busy it's hard to really get a ton of attention. We made an 8:45 res for two on a weekday. We got there early at 8:30. There was a very long line and we ended up getting seated at 9. I guess people don't make ressies on open table before coming. Ok so for the food. Goat cheese salad. It was ok. I hate bean sprouts. Didn't realize it was in the salad. 3/5 Nusr-et burger. The meat was cooked well for me, but I split it with my wife and half of her half was very very undercooked. I enjoyed the flavor of the beef, but didn't care for the addition of the pastrami (or whatever it was) on it. 2/5 Lokum burger. First, I'd argue this is not a burger. It's a steak sandwich. lol. I liked this alot. Flavor was good. Meat was cooked perfectly. 4/5 Lamb chops. This is where the meal really stood out. Loved them. For a guy being known as "Salt bae" - they did need salt though. 4/5 We didn't opt for dessert because we were so full. We have a Nusr-et in LA near home. I have refused to go there because the pricing is insane. The pricing here is probably considered high for Turkey, but for the US it's a fraction of the LA cost.

I was torn about trying this restaurant. I was afraid it was all about the hype, but I have to say it was worth it. Yakup, our server was terrific. He was so attentive and helpful. First, the interior is stunning, and everything is fast-paced. The servers are moving about and intense with their performance. Serving food is an art here. Almost every dish is presented with a jaw-dropping presentation. For example, they did not have mashed potatoes, so they brought a baked potato and turned it into a heart-shaped mashed potato. My daughter loved her lamb chops. She said the meat was delicious and fresh and not full of preserves. My burger was excellent. I was expecting ground beef, but not here; it was sliced beef. Delicious. I even enjoyed the French fries, and my grilled shrimp were jumbo shrimp full of flavor. We were so full we had to skip dessert. Maybe next time. Yes, the prices are a bit high for Turkey, but our meal was less than $100, so I can't complain. Two appetizers and two meals. Well worth the visit.

This is one of the "Salt Bae" restaurants located in his Park Hyatt hotel in one of the high end districts in Istanbul. For the prices, you can do waaaay better - nevertheless, it was quite the gram-worthy experience. We were seated in the breakfast section which doesn't carry the same elegant ambience as the rest of the dining area. They offered a normal price fix ($110/pp) or a gold price fix ($200/pp) for the large party and the table split orders so everyone got a bit of everything. Pomegranate Salad After days of experiencing dressing-less salad, we finally received one that was completely doused in dressing (argh)... ingredients were fresh, mixed greens, bean sprouts, some sort of white crumbled cheese and pom seeds. Would have been high quality without all the dressing. Carpaccio Like everything else, there's a mini-presentation before every dish is served. They worked up a totally raw thin slice of steak and then sliced it up with salad and parmesan flakes with a lot of bells and whistles. Very flavorful and not at all raw-tasting. It was so good I ate two chunks, which in hindsight is a losing strategy in a near-all-you-can-eat situation. Beef Tenderloin Drenched in butter sauce right before your eyes - you look at all the splendor, but try not to think about your poor arteries. Anyway, the tenderloin is supple and delicious and not at all buttery tasting. I ate multiple slices here too. Lamb This is probably the night's biggest disappointment. While it made for a good show with all the slicing and dicing, the lack of proper (or any?) seasoning was obvious. To add insult to injury, the meat although appearing pink, was medium and dry at best. Beef short ribs Back to high quality - although soft and tender (with a nice sweet, hot brown chutney sauce), but this time there was no more vacancy in our stomachs. I wish we had this earlier on - it was pretty flavorful and well prepared. I also don't get the gold foil. It was on all the meat for the gold price fix. I mean, is it safe to eat all those little flakes? I can't help but feel that it took away from the experience a little. I thought they would remove any foil wrap, but it comes all cooked and cut with shredded foil embedded into the tiny meat crevices so there's no way to avoid eating it. Dessert - Baklava Ice Cream Sandwiches Amazingly decadent, and yes, this came with a presentation as well. But again, by this time, our appetites were completely obliterated and unfortunately, a few slices were left untouched. In an awkward gesture, the staff invited us to the pool-side outdoor patio for dessert - the problem was, this was also the smoking patio and it seems everyone in Istanbul lights one up during dinner. Then they made us wait an unreasonable amount of time for dessert and again for the final bill (it wasn't warm either). It was a not-so-subtle way to say "we need your large table for the next several parties". Overall, a notable experience, but one that I would not repeat a second time, especially given the hit on the wallet. One last thing - that signature salt throw off the forearm is just ridiculous... that's all...

In the midst of the busy grand bazaar you can find this gem. The inside decor is huge as of old classical ancient Turkish stone mixed with modern style. Restaurant of the famous #salt bae Turkish butcher you can definitely find his videos on YouTube and instagram. His famous salt throw splash is what he is known for. You can even see a life size mannequin of him at the entrance. The menu consists of shrimp, steaks, lamb and burgers. The famous golden burger is even served here. I got the golden burger with crisp fries and he ordered the lamb with mashed potatoes and it was delish. The burger was so scrumptious and at first I was a bit scared because of the golden flakes but I got over it. My partner got the lamb chops with mashed potatoes and it was cooked to Perfection. The mashed potatoes were so creamy. This place is definitely a must go to.

I was looking forward to this meal for weeks leading up to the trip to Istanbul and to be completely honest it was the worst meal I had on the entire trip. Visiting another country has its differences, but I had no idea how gamey the beef would be. Gave me my fair share of stomach issues that night. The restaurant itself is nice enough, located at the famous Grand Bazaar. Lots on the menu to try but I wouldn't get your hopes up. There are so many better places in Istanbul. Go here if you want to check it off the list, but don't get the burger under any circumstances. I can't really recommend anything here because none of us liked anything we got. Great location though!

Overhyped . A good experience for sure with the meat quality and service. Ambience is good. I did find hard to communicate with the server.

Great food pathetic service! Save your money and go to their Beşiktaş location. 1. Didn't entertain us for 15 minutes after we yelled for service. 2. Forgot our order whole order. 3. Served drinks 20 minutes before food. 4. Everything came together after a wait time. Stay away!

What a great experience! The food was good and the meat quality was amazing! We came here for our anniversary and it was wonderful. Service was on point and the restaurant was aesthetic to the eye. I liked how it was central in the plaza. For apps we ordered the shrimp. Jumbo well seasoned shrimp! Yum! I ordered the lamb for myself... mmm it was so tender. It was also prepared the way I wanted it, medium. It was a good size portion too. My husband ordered the burger. It seemed more like a steak burger with generous portions of beef. The sides were generous. We shared a baked potato. It was huge! The spinach and mushrooms were tasty. The French fries were nice and crispy. Why is it that when we travel overseas they make French fries crispy and not greasy? We look forward to traveling to their other international locations. Throughout the restaurant, you can see all the #saltbae souvenirs.

Over priced for what you get and their service is horrible I would save the time and go enjoy much more amazing food around the city and not waste your money at this place unless your just trying to eat with people looking to show off. Exchange rate for me was $1 = 11 lira

Nusr-Et Steakhouse Sandal Bedesteni is a high-end steak restaurant in Istanbul, Turkey. I heard my friend talked about it as a must visit place. It is all about expectation. The ambient is casual. It is more like a family restaurant than a typical fine dining restaurant. The main dining room was noisy like a food court. There were two little kids chasing around at table. There was a kid riding an electric scooter between tables. The servers were attentive. The food quality was acceptable. Compared to all the surrounding Turkish food, this restaurant offers some acceptable steaks but it is not my kind of fine dining restaurant.

I love the other locations, the service is horrible and our food came opposite of what we ordered, i asked for medium and got medium rare, we asked for no butter on the potato and there was a huge one on it, we asked for no garlic on the mushrooms and it was so much garlic, when you complain , the waiter smiles and leaves, do you really speak English or what?!!! I gave 2 star because i love this chain so much , otherwise it was not a good experience, by the way the name of the waiter is Farouk!!!

Let me start by location. ... it is near grand bazaar, kinda hard to find at night. Once you get inside you really need reservations or you will wait 2-3 hours for table. The food very tasty, what you would expect from saltbae. We had the tomahawk, very juicy cooked perfect as we requested, presentation when brought to table, we had side of fried onion and fries. Food is great, however little pricey for Istanbul, basics just paying for name. Gift shop located in restaurant, we did purchase a bib for our infant son, very cute. I probably wouldn't go back on next trip simply because one time is enough, but would recommend to first time visiting friends.

Beş Bıçak Steakhosue is a meart heaven founded by 5 tough young men. The venue is located very far from us and center of Istanbul. When we asked the reason of this they told us there are not any venue in this region with a right taste and quality and that region needs a qualified venue. They have preferred to become the biggest in a small area instead of becoming a small option in a big region. The venue has been designed exactly as steakhouse concept. The inside area was very chic. They have a wooden bull head work with tide effect on the ceiling which we have not seen like that before. Dry aged meats were demonstrating in a nice fridge. Grill section was in a visible area but they do not bother you in sitting area. You can easily watch the how they cook the meats. We tried a lot of kinds as small portions on the evening of we went. Starters and warm starters; Zahter salad: It was a salad kind that we have never met in any steakhouse before. Its taste was balanced nicely. It was successful and very matching with the meats. We completly finished the salad plates. Smoked beef with cheddar sauce: They are preparing in a hot pot in front of you. Thanks to the taste of cheddar cheese we cleaned up our plates. They should decrease only the level of salt. B&B sausage with halloumi: The sausage prepared by themselves was delicious. Grilled oyster mushroom: It is a common taste for many steakhouses. They cooked it in a juicy and tasty way in here. It was the best one among the we have eaten before. As main course; Lokum: It was very soft like its name. We finished it in a short time. B&B Beef Special: They were the meats like döner cooked very shortly in the grill. Thin cut meat lovers will definetly love it. Dry aged entrecote: It was the most successful meat kind among serving ones. Its consistency and fattiness was superb. It should become the first choice. B&B Lamb Special: Grilled back meat of lamb are slicing and braising with fat in hot casserole. We loved the presentation and the taste as lamb lovers. Lamb Shoulder Tandoori: #tandooriislife. Its taste and consistency were perfect. We totally cleaned up it. You must watch the moment of extracting the bones from meat. B&B Burger: Its fattiness, taste of the meat, made from minced meat without sinewy, its breas and its sides. It was a wonderful burger with its everything. We ate local pistachio flaky pastry with icecream as dessert. Its taste was successful but it should be harder. It was softened a bit because of icecream. If they serve the icecream in a seperate cup it would be better. Service was successful, prices were affordable, ambiance was nice and also taste was good. If its location is appropriate for you there is no reason not to visit here. Do not miss their signature products starting with B&B.

The three stars I attribute to this restaurant solely derive from that. The service was great -- the waiters leaned into the dramatics of cooking, cutting, and presenting the food. While there's both indoor and outdoor seating, for a fancier dining experience, the interior is better. The two stars I deduct come down to the quality and price point of what we ordered. As I mentioned prior, the visual appeal of our orders were certainly there. However, the quality was not. Considering the hype and high-end feel to this steakhouse, the food seemed to taste in strike contrast. As we were at a steakhouse, I of course had to go for the steak and was unfortunately disappointed. The meat sushi was okay. And while the performance of cutting and presenting the baklava was nice, the taste itself was not anything special in comparison to other baklava serving spots readily available throughout the city. Considering such, we were paying what I felt was a disproportionate amount to the quality we consumed. It seems that the price point of the dishes here reflect more of the experience tied to salt bae and the dramatics than the actual quality of the food. And that's okay! I honestly expected that, but hoped for more. But at the end of the night, we were certainly not upset but glad we could experience this the one time we did. If you're looking for a memorable experience, this is your spot. If you're purely looking for a quality steakhouse...look elsewhere!

Luckily, all the usuals could be found with the exception of my fave, the ribeye. We ordered the porterhouse, filet mignon with sauce and lamb chops. To accompany, we ordered green salad and a.nice bottle of cabernet sauvignon. Salad was flavorful with pomegranate and corn and light oil dressing. Shortly before the salad we were bought shot glasses of what I believe was a peppery beef broth that whet our appetites! After salad we enjoyed a complimentary beef appetizer. We didn't know what ot was, but it was delicious! The porterhouse was served "Turkish style" which means it was pre-cut and served with plenty of au jus. I enjoyed the seasoning but would.prefer to cuty.own steak. The filet was served with garlic fries and a curry flavored sauce. The fries were awesome, but none too impressed with the filet, which was also precut, although the sauce was flavorful. The lamb chops were fantastic. For dessert, we order a candied zucchini dish and didn't know what to expect. We were pleasantly surprised. We also received a complimentary chocolate mousse that was really good. Service was more than adequate. We even spotted Gurkan Sef who was kind enough to take a picture with the girls.
