Annie's tiny paws in Canada contacted WAR directly, requesting that we send them ASAP to provide disabled veterans a Christmas miracle. Veterans would receive dog training to help them regain the ability to live independently for the rest of their lives. The community rallied around and supported the cause. They also provided financial support to transport these dogs to the new rescue in Canada, at no charge. I have to say the veterinarians and staff at Country Oaks provided Christmas miracles to these Veterans' families and their dogs by quickly addressing all their medical needs before transportation on December 20, 2025. We thank them all for them for providing what we call "The Christmas Miracle"

We had to take the same cat to an emergency vet Saturday morning, 8/15, where he was suffering from an infection that was filling his lungs and heart with pus or fluid - AN INFECTION THAT SHOULD HAVE BEEN DIAGNOSED 3 DAYS AGO for the $400 spent! We had to euthanize a 4-year old cat due to the incompetence of the vet at Dry Creek Vet in Galt - a "veterinarian" that I STRONGLY doubt was educated in the United States. Dry Creek vet sent us home with hairball medicine, food stimulant, flea and parasite medicine, and SAID they did a 5-minute IV of fluid for my baby - to the tune of ANOTHER almost $300! THIS VET IS AN INCOMPETENT SHEISTER! Be warned! There are plenty of GREAT urgent care centers in neighboring towns and it's worth your drive to find one!

After I paid I noticed a $25 tech fee added to my bill. Since when are we charging for tech appointments? I have worked at a hospital and been to multiple hospitals for my pet and have NEVER been charged for a tech appointments. It's ridiculous and just another way for them to get more money from you. Today we took our pet in for another cytopoint injection and he needed a prescription of trazodone. We needed the liquid kind which they don't have there so they would have to write one. Of course they required an exam. They then were requiring bloodwork for trazodone. We declined the bloodwork and asked to sign a AMA (against medical advice) form. They wouldn't allow that. When asked for a refund on the exam because the only reason we got it done was for the prescription they said no because we signed the estimate. Absolutely ridiculous and poor business practice. This place is a scam. You bring your dog in for skin issues and they try to give you a $1000 bill everytime. Nickel and dime you anywhere they can. I would not recommend this hospital to anyone and will not be back

First, the kennel is a field trip away from our house, but it is well worth the ride. The area, and the grounds are amazing! Lots of room, shady trees, outside kennels, and fields for the dogs to run. The inside kennels are spacious and clean, with heated floors. My Max is still young and crazy, but Patti had him eating out of her hand during our first visit to tour the kennel. When we went back for his stay, he walked right in without looking back. They provide food, but we took his regular food in a bucket for them to use. They also provide grooming and training, and this is definitely our go for upcoming travel and family events.

Anyway, today 7/14/26 an employee named Samantha aka Sara who is so sweet and was always there for Scruffy and me on all his past visits and today 7/14/26 3 employees really helped me during this time of grief. A dark haired Samantha helped me today by saying Scruffy, knows how you feel right now, he knows...and, I totally believed that as well and, as I arrived home a song was playing and I heard, "I know, I know and how ironic I heard that just as I was getting out of my CRV. Our dog had TPLO surgery and while the procedure is not inexpensive, we found their estimate to be middle of the road and the experience performing the procedure to be the most extensive. They were really good with our girl and so far, the results have been better than expected. The location is right off the I-5. It's easy to find and to park. As far as I could tell, it was the closest location in our end of the county to receive overnight care (as opposed to having a traveling animal surgeon perform the procedure at a local vet office and sending her immediately home) for TPLO.
