I was impressed that they made the effort to be so friendly and connect with the clientele. It was a little more expensive than I expected but they did a pretty good job. I am not typically a mani/pedi type of person. I have weak, crummy nails so I decided to try acrylics for a friend's wedding in portland. I had no concept of what a good nail set looked like, so I left thinking I had an okay acrylic set. Weeks later, I finally succumbed to the need to get them filled or removed. I found #1 pro nails on yelp, so I drove over and easily found parking in the garage lot (the main drawing factor of this nail salon in particular). I walked in and at that point had decided I just wanted them removed. I was quickly given a seat and started a soak. My nail technician, who I later found out was the owner, asked me where I got my nails done. I told her and asked her if they did a good job. She gave me enough of a response to know that I got played with and ended up with a bad nail job. She took on the personal responsibility of undoing the damage done, meticulously cutting and sanding away at the thick nail gel. She was so gracious and friendly regarding the whole situation. The whole process, including receiving a new polish to cover the damage, took one hour. When it came time to pay, she told me "$20." I thought I might have heard her wrong, but when the bill came I realized I heard correctly. I slapped on a tip that I realize in retrospect was not hefty enough. I greatly respect an owner who is honest and really cares about her customers. So hopefully this review will encourage you to go out and support this business. read more

Wandered in today needing a manicure, I wasn't able to walk-in probably because it's a Sunday, but I live close so I had no problem coming back. It was well worth the wait I got the best shellac manicure I've ever had! My nail artist was very talented and quick, I've never had such a clean shellac without a single flaw. They're always very busy (but not overcrowded) and don't tend to take walk in customers unless if you're willing to wait 45+ mins. Ann and the whole staff are great and attentive. All of them have worked at this place for a really long time which tells you they love their job, which they're so great at. If you can't decide on a color or style, Ann will help pick for you (which I love). Moreover this place is very Seahawks friendly. Their pedicure chairs are all matching Seahawks theme. It is beautiful outside for the first time in over a week and what would you rather have than a wonderful pedicure! I have been a regular client for some time now and I brought a good friend with me for some friendly bonding and amazing pedicures. The staff is incredibly friendly, helpful and great at making your little toes beautiful and ready to be bare in public. (Hopefully we will have more beautiful days like this!) I never, in an entire decade witnessed them turn anyone away. They always give a time to come back if the chairs are full. I just had the worst experience here. I won't ever go back. There's something wrong when a pedicure and gel manicure take less than 45 minutes. They put the gel light in my lap and just worked on my fingernails while I sat in the massage chair, which didn't even work. I was slightly concerned that, if I moved even an inch, the light would fall into the water below and electrocute me. I tried to ignore that my cuticles and filed nails were ending up somewhere on the floor. Then they dumped the water my fingers were soaking in into the water that my feet had been soaking in. They sprayed my hands, so I could "wash" them over the foot tub. No soap. I'm pretty sure no one there had washed their hands for days, and I really didn't want the leg or arm massage. And that really sucks actually, because the massage part is supposed to be the relaxing part of getting your nails done. In the end, I have hot pink gel all over my fingers, but at least I like the color. read more

I just moved to SLU and needed a pedi. Called in the morning and got a appointment an hour later. Easy parking, big place. The girls seem to know the regulars. I talked mostly to the girl next to me who was getting married that day. They did a good job. Just a pedi so nothing hard but it was only 20$ with no cost for parking There was an elderly gentleman having his toes and fingers done and the girl was doing a good job with him. ive gone here a couple of times and i would have to say they do pretty good job at what they do. i actually saw employees clean out the feet tub once its drained and the customers done using it (in reality, i dont see too often which makes me questions some places...) and i actually see them take the used utensils into a back room, what they do with it from there on im clueles but i would like to imagine that its getting sterlized. the workers are nice and i'm usually not a big talker when i get my nails done and hair cut etc. and this place works out just fine for me because neither are they! unless its the owner and shes nice! theres a wide variety of OPI selections and even some off the wall colors you wouldnt imagine getting ( im a plain jane when it comes to nail colors ) you get a little hand massage or a foot/leg massage depending on which service you decide to get. ithink the pricing is decent for i'm willing to pay a little more, especially knowing (or imagining) they are serious about keeping the place clean, utensils sterlized and whatnot. i believed it cost me 30 for a mani and pedi? can't beat that! they tell you they have parking and maybe im just a bit clueless and cant find it but i end up parking on the streets up the hill anyways which i can deal with because its free to park. =) read more

Great place! Dog friendly. The woman who appeared to be the manager was a great communicator and made comfortable conversation with everyone. My girlfriends and I got pedicures together, and I was very satisfied. I did the the cheese grater of shame (sigh) but that means they did a great job sloughing off the callouses. The nails were done very well, no chipping the day of even after going home and and cleaning. It wasn't pain full and it was super quick. However when I first walked in I asked if I could pay right away and she looked confused as to why I wanted to do that. I explained my reasoning but the lady helping me at the time didn't seemed pleased. She asked if I shellacked my nails before since I already had polish on. I didn't know what that was and asked her. I'm not sure if she didn't hear me but she didn't answer my question and instead said pay after so it's easier for her. I felt it was very dismissive of what the customer wanted and when she did ask me to pay, she was rude and just stared at me until I handed her my card. They weren't very verbal and would just hit your leg or arm when they were done and grabbed which ever arm or leg they wanted. The nails were well done but the customer service wasn't up to par. read more

I would give 4 and a half stars if I could! I recently moved to Queen Anne and decided to try to find a quality nail place nearer my place (Sorry Hoa!! I love you but I had to break up with you because I can no longer walk to you--sad). This place is a great bargain--I got a french manicure and a pedicure for about $35. A steal considering I paid nearly twice that for a less-than-worthy mani pedi a few months ago at another salon(which, in my own defense, I only went to for a friends' birthday party). They have a great selection of colors, friendly staff, and comfy pedicure chairs--the water is nice and warm without being scalding hot. My mani pedi turned out really nicely and stayed on my fingers for about two weeks without chipping enough for me to schedule another appointment (my toes still look so good that I'm forgoing another pedi until I really need it!) and the lady who did my nails was gentle, especially after I told her about my super ticklish feet! The lotion she put on my hands was so yummy and she made an effort to talk to me instead of her coworkers during the duration of my visit--much appreciated since I was all alone that day! I love my mani pedi! And at this price, I can afford to treat myself more often!! :) read more

Hands down 5 stars! I finally found a place that I'm regular at even though it's bit of drive, however it's worth it. It took me 8 years to find the perfect nail salon. I'm super picky and guess what? They do a perfect job every time! For the first time I can just relax and trust my technician. I don't have to worry that they won't do a good job cause they always do! Me and my girlfriend are regulars here. Ann is super nice and very approachable. She is honest and doesn't make people wait if there is no opening, unlike most other nail salons. I'm sure everyone had one of those experiences where they tell you to wait 10-15 minutes and you end up waiting 40 minutes. Also, they don't gossip about their customers in Vietnamese. I've been to those places where they would gossip about and constantly talk to fellow employees. Here they really focus on their job and make sure they satisfy customer's needs. Ann knows every customer by name and seems to have built relationship with them. Overall must go! Not the friendliest people except one guy who did my nails. I don't remember his name but he had tats. There was another guy, younger who seemed to have an attitude about getting a nail color to match the shellac color I chose. "There's no similar color". Stop being a little b**** and accommodate your customer. He left to start someone else's pedicure after he finished prepping mine. When he brought me a color I didn't like t because it was more pink than my nails so a woman went to find a similar color instead. They basically were saying (in their language) that there wasn't one. The nicer guy who was doing my nails mixed two colors and it was a decent match. My nails are good enough, I have no major complaints but the environment was not the best. They played the weather channel and there was no talking, nails in silence. read more

Best nail salon I've ever been to! I've been a client for a few years now and they never disappoint. I even drove from Kirkland for a few months because no other salon compares. This salon does get very busy, so make sure to call ahead or else you might be turned away. They have a wide array of shellac colors and Ann knows every color by name. They always make sure their customers are happy. If I choose a color that may not be the best, they always tell me and recommend another option, which i really appreciate. I recently read the positive reviews on this nail salon and decided to give it a try! I'm very picky on shellac mani's as I like the polish to look perfect - no streaks, no paint around the edges, polish should be as close to the cuticle as possible, etc... Yeah, I'm totally anal. Lol! Well this morning I went in for a shellac mani and pedi. Ummm...the shellac mani was perfect!! I saw Cam- she did an awesome job and the polish looks amazing! I didn't catch the name of the gal that did my pedi but that turned out great as well! The people there were really nice and the salon is so cute and modern (not like the typical nail places)! I will definitely be coming back to Number One Pro Nails! I live all the way in Beacon Hill, so it's a little far for me.
